Description of Work: I have a pella window whose metal crank mechanism broke. I tried to talk to someone there who could help me identify the right part. After 3 separate attempts to call them I called the Pella national offices. I was helped immediately. They also left a voice message for the manager to call me to discuss installation of the part. I never got that call. I would not consider using them again.

Description of Work: They replaced a window in the basement, a picture window in the library and other windows and one door. They were professional and did a great job. They have someone come out before to measure and is present to supervise the day of the installation. We are very satisfied. New windows add beauty and help keep the elements out. The house is more comfortable now. The Baltimore Pella Store has good people. We'll look to them again for future projects.

Description of Work: This project involved installation of 4 windows and a double door onto our deck with a roll-up screen. I called Pella because we had had a good experience with their product in the past. The first part was with the salesman who came to the house. He was very professional and worked with me to pick out exactly what we wanted. Given the many choices: quality, features, color, hardware, etc., this took awhile. He then prepared a written estimate of around $16,000 for us to consider. After a couple days he called about our decision. There wasn't really any high pressure but it was clear he wanted the sale. After a few days I let him know we'd go ahead if he'd knock some off the price(figured it was worth a try). He lowered the price to around $14,000 and I agreed to sign the contract. Next the measurer came and the windows were ordered. When they came in, the two installers came. They were really superb. Absolutely beautiful job and they finished up in one long day. Several weeks later the roll-up screen installers came and the job was completed. We also had a visit from the locksmith as the wrong keys had been shipped with the door. We are very satisfied and would definitely use this company again. Everyone came exactly on time and was extremely pleasant and professional. These windows were very expensive but they appear to be a first rate product and we don't regret what we spent on them.

We were provided a straight forward price that was clearly explained by a knowledgeable representative. We received estimates from other companies that were routinely "discounted" by over 50% within minutes of not accepting the original price. The Pella estimate did not include any of this pricing nonsense and associated pressure, which we greatly appreciated. | |The only issue we encountered during installation was a few damaged screens, which occurred during shipping. This was noted by the installers and new screens were ordered and installed as soon as they arrived a few weeks later. | |

Description of Work: Matt came out and gave us an estimate that turned out to be the best price. I was surprised given the quality of windows. We are waiting for the install, but so far, Pella has answered every question to my satisfaction and in a timely manner.

Description of Work: We have Pella windows and Doors - there were expensive. A few of the units need replacement parts due to natural wear and tear. Pella corporate HQ directed me to our local Pella dealer which happens to be KC Pella. I couldn't get a call back. Maybe because now they got all our business, selling parts to us isn't that financially lucrative for them. After several months, I had to call a manager just to get help ordering the replacement parts.

Description of Work: Provided well-thought out estimate. Very well organized and able to explain the choices. In the end we chose a different vendor only because of price. KC was clearly superior in installation and product quality, offering more choices than the competition. But since we won't be in our house more than five years, and given theeconomy, we put more emphasis on price in the final decision.

Description of Work: K C installed a Pella door in 2008. About a month ago, the entry handle began to loosen. When leaving from inside the house, it only works in one direction. When entering, it is just plain difficult. I called the customer service number - went directly to a non-descript voicemail. Said they would call back in 24 hours. SEVEN DAYS later, they returned my call. The person said the earliest they could come to my house was in SIX WEEKS. Am still waiting. I would replace the handle myself if I could figure out how to get it off. There is NO on line customer service self help with an installation diagram.

Description of Work: Another company installed our Pella windows. There was a problem with one and KC is the authorized repair outfit. We called for service and they happily complied. Pure professionalism and quality all the way! A great experience.
