Description of Work: Replaced broken sump pump and installed whole house air re-circulator to control moisture in basement that would lead to mold and takes time to heat up the house. Once the sales deal is done took time to get the folks in because of appointment conflict but they came on promised date and di good job of installation and explaining things. so far things are going well.

Description of Work: This company replaced my entire sump-pump. It was rotten all the way through and NOT working at all, YET I was still DRY!!! I am grateful I got the deal when I did and they came when I called. I like my new system.

Description of Work: Had a 6-8 appointment time. The representative did not show up until 8:20 PM then acted like he did t want to go home. The presentation was a good one. The price was fine. But I found a cheaper company and went with them.

Description of Work: Aqua Guard Technicians Installed an Internal Basement Sump Drainage System. A lot of Concrete Demolition and Concrete Removal was done, numerous Weep Holes were Drilled and the Older Exterior Draiage System was tied into the New One. Excelle work, Excellent Clean-Up, Done in Two Days, no additional [Hidden] Costs. Highly Recommend this Compnay.

Description of Work: The agent was professional, but the sales pitch was too strong, too much like dealing w/an annoying car salesman. Instead of giving me their best price to begin, he dropped it by 3k after I told him thanks and that I needed to do further research. Even his "best" price was over $2k more than I ended up paying to AAction for the work.

Description of Work: Overall I was pleased with the service. What I was not so happy about was the discrepancy in the pricing information. The sump pump needed to be replaced so I did not have a lot of time to shop around. Initially I was going to simply have the sump pump serviced and cleaned. Then I learned it needed to be replaced because of its age. In the end, the conflicting pricing was my issue. The technician was timely very professional and I have no complaints about the quality of the work. The person in charge of handling the Angie's List customer deals could use some training in effectively resolving conflicting information. The answer is not always "we can just give you your money back." I didn't want my money back I just wanted assurance that I was getting the best deal offered to Angie's List customers. $175 Sump Pump Tuneup. The Big Deal stated 50% off new sump pump. Instead, I was charged $399 for the new sump pump. I did not get the 50% off nor was the cost of the tuneup deducted from the $399.

Description of Work: Instead of fixing older sump pump they said better to replace it. Got it replaced. New pump is a nice one, but costs more $$$$s.

Description of Work: I have no idea what I paid for. The person came in and told me if I wanted to upgrade my sump pump I could pay roughly $600. Then he left. It was a colossol waste of time and money. Angie's Big Deal strikes again. I have yet to have a good experience purchasing a big deal and will never purchase one again.

Description of Work: The inspection of my foundation went very well. The rep was VERY knowledgeable about foundations, gutters, and even the plants surrounding the house. He noticed several issues with the foundation which led to about $3000 of repairs. Never sure that this was needed, but the work was all done very well and with a small miscommunication on one part of the contract, they finished the job the way I understood the contract.

Description of Work: They did an excellent job. Remarkably clean for a very messy job. They had to reschedule, however, and my basement flooded during that interim. There has not been a torrential storm since the installation but I can't imaging water getting in considering what they did.

Description of Work: I originally spoke with the owner (Steve Washington) and he said they would do two visits and they could not/would not schedule the second visit to accomplish what the Big Deal advertised which was a sump cleaning and inspection etc, until the first visit was complete. I figured, OK, I'll take advantage of the foundation inspection, then get what I purchased in the follow on visit. They were easy to schedule with and the first person was knowledgeable, but probably in the business of selling more services. My house is relatively new so there were no major issues. Then he began to discuss what I understood from Steve would happen in the second visit. He then said he would need to cut pipe in order to look at the sump and now seemed like he was going to perform what was to be the second visit. This concerned me as he made it clear before starting that he wasn't the technician to do the work on the sump pump. He did reach in and trigger the float to make the pump run and told me it was too loud, probably has a bearing or something not functioning correctly and needs replacement. It seems he was very willing to write up a work order for a whole replacement sump and I didn't feel at all comfortable with that. Due to the fact that I didn't budget for more than a 2 hour visit, and I was now confused on who should be doing what, I deferred any more from the guy on site and thanked him for his visit. I intended to call Steve back, but before I got to that, we got a call from him telling us we should pursue a refund. I called back and spoke with Steve who pointed out my sump is sealed due to the Radon system already installed and they could not do the work. Steve was very willing to work with us through the whole ordeal and proactive with the refund. I have no problem with him or what he is trying to offer, but ultimately, I never got what the Big Deal said I would, wasted a few weeks of time, and I'm no further along that before I signed up for this Angie's List Big Deal, which is wanting a sump inspection, possible back up pump installed and just spent 45 minutes processing this refund form and explanation. Please let me know when I can expect my $175.00 refunded to my credit card.

Description of Work: We asked Aquaguard to give us an estimate on an interior drainage/sump pump system for our basement. The first guy who came seemed reasonable but didn't write up an actual estimate. It was more like scribbles on a small notepad with three different options in the $4,200-5,000 range, but we weren't exactly clear what was included in each option. |We got other estimates in the meantime and also wanted to find out more about the problem we were experiencing. |Aquaguard then called us back and said that they wanted us to meet with the "senior (or 'chief') engineer" to give us "better pricing". Another company (Mid-Atlantic) had done the exact same thing. We almost wondered if they are affiliated companies or something. We don't like wasting time with multiple appointments (it should be one price for the same work) but were of course interested in the price coming down. |The "senior engineer" ended up canceling one appointment, but when he was able to come, he did basically the same thing as his colleague! Not specific as far as no paperwork and then asked us what price his other sales guy had given us. (Shouldn't they have made a note of it in their files or something?) He made a comment about the pricing being too low and that he couldn't decrease the price any more than that. |So we felt like we had completely wasted our time. It was very frustrating because we had to keep setting aside time for appointments, and the price was too high. |We ended up having JES do the work for $3,180 (including $500 off coupon). They were very specific in the estimate and even included more services than Aquaguard would have done (such as more drainage line, "clean space" for the wall, etc.). |Based on our experience, we can't recommend Aquaguard to others.

Description of Work: They reviewed my house for any evidence of foundation problems. None | were found but staff did offer advice regarding the cracks in my walls and made recommendations as to who to contact to facilitate their repair.

Description of Work: Provider just came to inspect the house for any humidity or water leakage. The result was that everything was in good order and I did not need any further work.
