Too pushy and changed scope of work in writing after a verbal agreement was made. Therefore I cancelled.

I've had many crappy experiences with service professionals and until this point, I've never left a review. This one was especially bad. I initially dealt with a gentleman named Joseph Roberts, who came to our house to provide an estimate. He seemed to genuinely care about getting the job done right, and at a good price. We defined a plan for landscaping, downspout and gutter work and I signed a contract and provided a check for about $1,000 as a deposit. He told me the work would be done within a month. 3 months later, they're still holding my deposit and the work is not done. This company didn't even reach out to do the scheduling - I had to follow up with them several times. I've been cancelled on twice without notification - once due to rain on a sunny day, and a second time because of a "mix-up." With the summer nearly over, my yard is in bad shape and the work has not been scheduled. If you want a nice guy to come to your house, provide an estimate and collect your deposit but not get anything done, use Aquaguard Waterproofing.

The technician was very thorough in explaining why there were cracks and what they would do. He took his time and was very competent. He was on time and courteous. When I am ready to have this done, I plan to call them,

I'm still not convinced the work was entirely necessary but the basement is dryer and once the remodeling work that is resulting from this is done, I expect having a less damp basement will be great. I still sort of think I could have saved myself about $10,000 by doing some landscaping outside. Looking back, I should have first tried dealing with this by doing the landscaping. If that didn't work, then commit the time and money to this project.

It was suppose to be the sump pump inspection. They did come out and do some work before this and everything was fine. They did tell me it would be a good idea to have this sump pump check up every year. When I saw the coupon, I said "Oh, perfect!". When the guy pulls up, the first thing that I noticed was he showed up in his personal car and not the company truck. He came in with a folder. He started talking about what I need a water proofing for. I reminded him that he was here for a sump pump inspection. I already have the sump pump, you are just here to inspect it. They thought I wanted a sump pump. He said he could go down and take a look at it. He goes down and the sump pump is a sealed system that you actually have to open up. He said he couldn't get into that because he didn't have any tools. I also remind him he was to do a foundation inspection too. He looks around and doesn't see any standing water and said we were probably good. There wasn't an inspection. He saw the green light on the battery and said that was good battery back up. If I had paid more than 50 bucks, I'd have been upset. He did show up on time.

The salesman (and I emphasize "salesman") toured my property and on the basis of a small amount of aquamarine mold behind the paint that had been scratched away on the one exposed cinderblock wall of my semi-finished basement tried to scare me into thinking that the foundation of my house might collapse in "a few years" based on rising groundwater. He tried to sell me a $14,000 package involving removal of the drywall, boring holes in the cinderblocks to drain them, digging a trench around the foundation, laying new drainage piping, and installing a new sump pump. When I pointed out that I would need to consider this for a few days, he dropped the price to $9,000. Needless to say, I showed him the door. I have no idea what the service offered should actually cost, much less whether the condition of my house even warrants such a service. Caveat emptor!

Aquaguard's Rick provided a great inspection, swiftly followed by a precise proposal which seemed a fair price for all the work that needed to be done. Soon after, blessed with mostly warm and sunny February weather, the crew of four industrious, good natured, professional workers arrived every day until the 7 day project was completed. When they discovered a problem ( unexpected water , electric or drain pipes) they consulted with us and the office before taking next steps. They welcomed our questions and our camera work, helping us provide a record of work that is invisible once the workers finish. The crew had a kind and knowledgeable leader who worked hard along with the others. They respected our plantings as much as possible, replaced every ounce of soil and rebuilt a brick garden edge before declaring the job finished.Our experience was outstanding and we would recommend Aquaguard to anyone. We really understand foundations now...an added bonus.

Had an appt scheduled for a waterproofing estimate. Appt was scheduled for 1pm. No one showed or called. At 2:30 pm, I get a call from a sales person from Aquaguard. Sales person said he was alerted (didn't say by whom) that the person scheduled to come to my home had not shown. He did not apologize for the missed appt. Instead, he said he would come and then proceeded to tell me about why he was the best person to talk to me, boasting about his credentials. He said he would be at my home in 45 minutes. TWO hours later he arrives. No call to say he was taking longer than expected and no apology upon arrival. He gives me a very long sales speil mostly focusing on why the other companies are no good. He talked for two and half hours even though I kept mentioning to him that we needed to wrap it up because I had other plans and my day had been severly altered from the time they told me. Even at almost 7pm, he continued to press the conversation along with low ball sales tactics (dropping the price substantially if I signed the same day). Later research also showed that some of the things he was criticizing other companies for (french drain systems), Aquaguard also uses. The lack of consideration for my time along with the sales tactics led to my decision to use another provider.

They were very thorough, professional and most of all HONEST! Although I did not use them for this particular job, I highly recommend their services.

I needed waterproofing done. They are on the pricey side, but they do good work.

The guy was extremely thorough and helpful in his explanations. I didn't get the sense that he was just trying to sell us something. He inspected our sump pump (even though it was installed by a rival company) and gave us some tips and tricks that wouldn't require us purchasing anything. If we ever do need to purchase something related to reducing moisture and/or generating more air flow in our basement, we'll definitely use this company.

Technician was very patient, took his time and provided a thorough evaluation on the work that was recommended. He explained his findings and suggestions in great detail.

Very personable. On time tried to sell me more services which i probably do need but it is just not in the current budget.

It was okay. The gentleman came and looked over my basement. He was very kind and patient, but it was a little bit more salesman like giving opportunities. He presented his solution which was quite expensive. He didn't offer any other ideas. It was kind of mixed. I did not end up using them for the project. I occasionally get some dampness in the basement. I wanted to see if he had any ideas. They said they were thorough. They didn't do anything wrong, but it just didn't suit me. He explained the technical part quite well and that was good. The negative was he didn't offer different solutions. It was more of a sales presentation. The guy came on time.

None of this was done. I was very disappointed with this service. Maybe since the price was just $39 the guy that showed up didn't really care to do much for what is was not worth his time. Told him of my concerns and took a couple of looks outside my house and said everything was fine. He peaked from outside the crawlspace and said everything looked fine. My entire house is above the crawlspace in order to look at it in detail you have to crawl in the space. He must have had perfect vision to see the entire crawlspace. I'm just too upset at this point and I felt like my money was just wasted.

During a rainstorm in February 2016, the system failed along the rear exterior wall resulting in water seepage in the great room. On 22 March 2016, Mark Mayers of AquaGuard prepared a remediation proposal in the amount of $3,470 without assessing the root causes of the recurring water leaks (at the time, finished drywall covered the affected cinderblock foundation but has since been removed). In an email to John Bryant, a district manager, I subsequently asked for an explanation of the charges and why I must pay to remediate a nonfunctional system that carries a lifetime warranty. I never received a response. Additional emails to Mark and John have not prompted an elucidation of the remedial charges and resolution of the water seepage problem. I had been informed by both sales representatives and project managers that this was a foolproof system based on a time-tested, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers design - not an iterative, experiential learning process that would require multiple, invasive attempts to build a fully functional and efficacious system. Significantly, the current nonfunctional system is interfering with completion of renovations to an integral living space. I need to finish the space immediately in order to provide a residence for home health care aides to assist with the care of my 90-year-old mother. If the company honors its highly touted, differentiable warranty program, returns to the site, and remediates the system (to ensure a fully functional system) at their own expense, I would consider retaining their services again.
