Abe did a great job and was very flexible. He even allowed time for other projects that we did not previously discuss. Would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone in need of reliable quality work.

Abe was very professional and was able to be out working at the house within a few days of us accepting the proposal. The work was completed quickly and he was very clean (cleaned up all debris). The quality of the work was excellent and he was very detailed. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. He even re-installed the screen door on the french doors after cutting down the frames. We have small children and it was refreshing to not have all of the smoking, drinking, and swearing we have become accustomed to from other contractors. Additionally, they obviously came prepared to work, and did not engage in any extraneous conversations. From a pricing perspective I think we received a fair price, especially considering I had other contractors come out and provide quotes for similar services and noting some of them refused to reinstall the exterior doors, instead wanting me to buy new doors to be installed for several thousand dollars. I was very pleased with the work and would use them again.

Abe's answering machine took my message on Sunday. He returned my call Monday morning and scheduled a time to look at my work on Tuesday at 9. He arrived promptly. He immediately fixed both toilets without having to replace any parts, thus saving me the expense of having to replace the parts and the expense of his time in doing the work. After looking at the ice maker and bathroom sink pop-up situations, he said he would have to buy parts in order to make those repairs, and he asked me if I wanted that done the same day. I asked about the price. He told me $250. Then he went and bought the parts and speedily completed the work, which all together took about three hours. He was quick, clean, and courteous. Then he estimated my sheet rock job, which I thought would take forever and be expensive. However, he estimated it would take about 3 hours to do and cost $50 per hour. I am highly likely to use him to do that job if I can ever get my daughter to clean up her room for long enough for him to get to what needs work.

He was really good. He did a really good job. Interior painting done by them. He put in a new A?C, it was extremely difficult and he got the job done. He was neat, came on time, and he did not cheat me. He was one of the better people. He is very efficient and we will use him again, something I cannot say about a lot of people we have dealt with.

We supplied the sink, toilet, and fixtures, and he supplied the tub. He also put up vinyl railing and support posts. He was punctual, he was professional, and he did the job well. We are satisfied with what he did. He was able to come quickly and he got everything done in a reasonable amount of time.

He did a great job. Very clean cut of the vinyl. Very professional work.

He is fast responding and professional. Everything he did, he took pride in. He offers good craftsmanship.

It went extremely well. Abe was responsive, and even though he was not always able to make it out on the first planned day, he was always there within several days and did a fine job and met or exceeded expectations. He provided fair, fixed price quotes prior to each job and always honored his prices. He took the time to do a careful, professional job, and was honest about what he felt most comfortable, and least comfortable doing. He made very good suggestions about work needed -- and he seemed to do so with our welfare in mind, rather than a contractor trying to run up the bill. He is a capable, thorough, diligent professional who acts with integrity -- all one could ask for in a handyman. I am happy to give him an excellent report and plan to ask him to do more work. I wish there were more workmen like him.

There was a storm and part of the gutters had gotten damaged. He did a good job and was pretty professional. The price was pretty reasonable too.

It started out well. The communication seemed to be very good upfront. The contract didn't encompass everything that was discussed between the contractor and me. As a result, when the contractor figured the job was finished, I did not. So we had some discussion about it which became a little bit heated, but in the end he was amenable to making the changes that were necessary and we compromised on the additional cost. I would hire them again to do a project, but I would pay a little bit more attention to make sure that everything that is discussed verbally is in fact reflected in writing. That's the best thing to do in any case. The contractor was a positive upbeat character, very friendly and seemingly very professional, so it was very easy to go along with a verbal agreement and believe that he would take care of it and not put it down in the contract, but in reality that's the best way still. I had a couple of different people come over before he did, but he was the most positive and the most creative in finding solutions for issues that we were facing. One of the reasons that I hired him is because of his positive attitude. That made me feel like every little detail needs to be captured. The project looks very good.

Very helpful, does quality work. He is very interested in customer satisfaction. The bathrooms look fantastic!

I emailed Abe, who runs WS Contractors, via Angie's List. He replied within 24 hrs and gave me a time frame for how long he thought the work would take to accomplish and when he would be available to do it. Although he couldn't give us an estimate for about a week due to ongoing work, he did commit to starting the work within a day or two of providing the estimate if we desired. He showed up on time, quickly surveyed what needed to be done, and provided a written quote via email a few hours later. We had a lower quote from another contractor for the same work, and when we told him this, he came down on the price by a few hundred dollars, which we felt was fair. He and a co-worker did the work themselves, in the time frame they had quoted us of 3-4 days. All of the work was done to our satisfaction. Our only complaint (which is relatively minor compared to some of the contractor experiences we've had) is that there was a bunch of dry wall dust and little chunks in the yard next to our driveway over about a 4 by 4 foot area. We cannot really get that out since it rained, etc, but I'm sure it will go away eventually. Other than that, the experience was fantastic. We would use them again and indeed may call Abe back for some additional work we plan to have done installing an island and new lighting in our kitchen this fall.

Received Abe's name from my painter as "the one" to call for roofing problems. He did come over to look at my problem, told me when he'd come to do the work, cost, etc. Never showed up, never followed up. Called him again when the problem became more severe-again he set up a time, date-never showed up, never called, never followed up!

Business owner Abe Wilcox is a professional who realizes your vision and I couldn't be happier with the result. The finished product is amazing. Everything progressed with the remodel just as he explained. Once the cabinets were chosen and delivered, the work was completed very quickly. There were no hidden costs; Mr. Wilcox would keep in contact about any questions that would come along. He listens to what you would like and makes it happen. The moulding around the cabinets and window and door is absolutely beautiful. The labor is very reasonable and he truly works hard to complete all projects in a timely manner. All dust and debris is cleaned up at days end to make your living area clean and comfortable as possible during the remodel. I highly recommend WS Contractors, Inc. and I plan on calling them again in the future. Thanks Abe.

The quality of the work was excellent however we spent a few weeks of having almost every piece of furniture in our house displaced (dining room furniture in the kitchen, living room furniture downstairs, deck furniture in yard etc...) and lived in our bedroom (which was the only room not remodeled). Our dog was very confused but stayed out of the way. Since we were also having painting done the house really seemed like the epicenter of a storm until the work was completed.

Work was started in reasonable time.I should mention that this roof was a geodesic dome,a new experience for these roofers.The work went slower then they expected and they said that they never wanted to see another dome.By the end of the job only one man was working on it for the last few days.There was a small amount of work that was not finished and after a few weeks and a couple of calls it was completed.I ended up picking up pcs.of shingles and roofing nails for along time.there are pcs.of shingles still on the roof.A few days less than a year later I called to inform Jim Wilcox,the owner,that the roof had leaked.It was than I found that his son,Abe,had taken over the business.Abe came out a week later and agreed that the skylight was the problem.He would have the roofer come out,he said,but that did not happen.By this time winter was here and nothing was done.I called at the end of Feb.Again nothing done.At one time after this Abe&the roofer did come out and look at the job,but nothing has been done up to this point(June 21,2009)

It went very smoothly. There were a couple of setbacks and they made problems were worked out. We got just what we wanted at a reasonable price.

Abe came to the house and provided me with an estimate. While the cost of the cleaning was slightly more than the last time that I had the gutters cleaned, the experience was much better. Abe was very thorough in discussing what he would do in terms of the downspout repair. After the job was complete, he followed up with a phone call to make sure that I was satisfied. I would definitely use Abe again.

Abe was great. He was prompt and very clear in explaining the situation and the various options. For the garage roof, he said he could fix one obvious problem and see how that went, or recover the entire roof. As the roof was nearing the end of its life, I decided to do the latter. Abe put on a new nearly white sun-resistant covering. The leak is now gone and the garage also looks much better. Abe called after a big storm shortly after he fixed the roof to see how it had held up. A few days later another large storm came through and there was evidence of leaking in a bathroom in an upper floor extension to the house. Abe came right over and took a look. In this case he recommended minor patches since the roof still looked like it had a number of years of life left. Again Abe called back after another storm! In this case it wasn't clear whether the patch had completely succeeded. Abe came back again to take a look and suggested waiting a bit to see if there were any more signs of water getting through. This is what I was thinking of doing even before he came over to check. My feeling throughout has been that Abe has been acting as a great adviser, rather than someone who is looking to maximize his work.

Good. He was very easy to work with.

Called Abe on a Wednesday. He came out that afternoon and measured. The job was done that Saturday. He took up our old carpeting and installed the floor. It took approximately 6 hours to complete. The floor looks great. There was a plank that wasn't butted up right and he came back as soon as I called and corrected it. He remodeled our entire kitchen last year, so I know how dependable and honest he is.

Abe was the general contractor for the kitchen remodel, as well as the installer of the kitchen cabinets. We were very pleased with the work done by everyone on the project. Abe listened to our requests and ideas and had many good suggestions. He understood our goals for the kitchen and dealt very well with the idiosyncrasies of a kitchen and pantry in an 85-year-old house. We were very happy with the outcome of the whole project.

The work was performed in two visits. Abe arrived as scheduled and performed the work expeditiously. He and his co-workers were very pleasant to deal with and professional. Care was taken to keep the house clean while the work was performed and the job site was clean when the work was completed. Abe reduced the price for the leak repair when he found the work effort entailed was less than originally estimated.

Abe did everything he said he'd do, and everything was done well. He listened to my requirements and made suggestions that had good results. Both he and his subcontractors were punctual and professional. The one time he was running late, he called to let me know. The work site was cleaned each night and debris was removed. The final result is beautiful. I've already given him a deposit for my next project and plan to get on his schedule for yet another project in Spring.

In September Jim Wolcott came out and took me to Columbia, Md. to pick out the cabinets and countertops. In the beginning of October on a Thursday, his son Abe and his helper took out all the cabinets, countertops, and sink. On Friday, they installed all the cabinets. Monday, they installed the flooring and the silestone people measured for the countertop. The painting and electrical are done by their contractors who were excellent. We had to wait on the countertops to arrive which was 12 days later. In less than 2 weeks everything was done. They did an excellent job. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely hire them again. Highly recommended.
