I could not get the heat running in my duplex home. It was cold. I phoned at the last minute and the two agreed to come by in the afternoon. It turned out that the upstairs unit thermostat wasn't fully turned up. The downstairs thermostat needed a battery.Once they identified the problem, the radiators slowly began to warm up. They were on time, courteous, professional and knowledgeable about their craft. They were patient and kind, and provided additional advice so that I could understand the operational aspects of the heating system (radiator). I am so pleased with L.J. Butler Plumbing that I will use them again--and refer them to my friends.

Nothing to say. On site on time. Repairs done quickly and professionally. Price was entirely reasonable.

The job went very well. He was prompt, polite, professional, and arrived on time. Excellent communication. He verified that the motor was fine, swapped out the pump bearing with no issues and without having to drain the system (something you want to avoid on a closed loop system), and made sure everything was working perfectly. He even replaced the coupler, which was a nice touch. It took about 2 hours total and I was impressed with his knowledge and the quality of the job. He also showed me how to oil the bearings and (although I knew about the main bearing) showed me how to oil the motor bearings (a drop of oil every few years). I never knew that. Thanks to his expert knowledge, the system should run for another 30 years without problems :-) When done he billed me for $250 which I paid happily. This is a person who knows how to repair things, as opposed to a company that just swaps parts out at random. I would definitely hire this company again. He did it right.

I phoned them and they called first thing in the morning. They saw our property and offered a sound estimate in a day. They completed the work on time and for the estimated amount. Very reliable. Also responsive to emergency calls over the weekend.

Although I did not choose this contractor, I wanted to express my positive experience to Angieslist members with regards to this contractor. The contractor responded immediately to my request for an estimate. There was no specific reason for not selecting this contractor. My problem was that I contacted three contractors from Angieslist and all were competitive in price and left me with the impression all would have done a professional job. Therefore, I could have just as easily hired this contractor than the one I chose.

I needed a new gas line run from the gas manifold to my new gas dryer. They ran about 30 feet of corrugated gas line to the dryer and attached the corrugated line to black steel gas pipe with a shut off valve to the dryer. They tested the line for leaks and and and even labeled the rest of the gas lines by the gas manifold by what they went to in the basement. I thought it was really nice of them to do that. It was a small gesture but the details are the things you remember about a great service provider!

The man was courteous, professional and efficient. Although he was going to charge $200 for snaking one bathtub drain and sink, he ended up only charging $100. Not sure why, since I was not there when he finished; but it seems he took only 6 hours to do what he estimated would take 8 hours when bidding the job. This was after snaking both of our bathroom tubs and sinks. (He did the wrong bathroom and then did the right one - with no argument.) He told us he tries to be fair in his pricing, so I believe he made an adjustment on that part of the work order to make the total cost more fairly reflect his time & materials. We also very much appreciated receiving a detailed, printed invoice in the mail the next day.

Came out the next morning after I called them. Called ahead to let me know he would be a little late. Very courteous and offered me helpful advice on each issue. Work was done very quickly (about 30 or minutes or so for everything). Good service overall.

Called 12/30/10 in the afternoon. Someone was here the next morning and replaced our water heater. Excellent service, reliable, and fair price.

I have a meeting scheduled so I asked if Mr. Butler could arrive as soon as possible. He arrived shortly before 9:00 and was done in less than 20 minutes. Everything was fixed and the price was less than I expected. I will use them for furture plumbing needs.

I haven’t done a lot of comparison but I think that their prices are reasonable. They are not the cheapest but are more professional than a lot of the other plumbers. The work that they have done so far has been good and it hasn’t broken down. They have always been professional and I haven’t had to have anybody to followup afterwards. I haven’t had such experiences with other plumbers. They clean up the area and also get back to you fairly quickly. That’s the reason why I kept using them. I would use their services in the future too.

These guys are wonderful. I can't say enough on how they worked. They were on time, cleaned up everyday. Layton did all the work and he was a great young man. He took pride in his work and was very neat, clean and friendly. I couldn't have asked for more. The price was very reasonable and I would gladly tell anyone to use this company. I will diffiently use this company again!!

It was good.They are very professional and they clean up after there work. I have had bad expereince with other plumbers in the past but their service was good.

I CALLED INITIALLY TO GET AN ESTIMATE. THEY THEN CAME OUT AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE. THE ESTIMATE WAS $1000 LESS THAN WHAT ANOTHER PLUMBER WAS GOING TO DO. BOTH PLUMBERS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEIR WORK.

L.J. BUTLER HAS DONE MY PLUMBING WORK FOR MANY, MANY YEARS AND I TRUSTED THEM TO DO THIS REPAIR SATISFACTORILY. THEY REPAIRED THE LEAK AND I AM NOW USING MY WASHING MACHINE AGAIN.
