Ken, the owner of Horizon, returned my call very quickly after I left a message on his voicemail. This was a about 2 weeks after Hurricane Sandy had revealed to me the poor condition of my roof. By that time, Horizon had a lot of jobs from other people in a similar situation. Ken warned that he couldn't get to me for awhile but offered to make quick, temporary repairs to assure that I wouldn't have more leaks before he could do the complete job. He made the temporary repairs within 2 or 3 days of our conversation. He did this without even asking for a deposit on the full job. About 1 month later he sent a crew out to do the work. Ken had suggested that I get another company specializing in roof decks to remove and replace the part of the roof deck that would impede the roofing. He said that would be cheaper. However, I was willing to pay a little more to have Horizon do it because of the convenience of not having to deal with and coordinate between more than one company. So on a Friday morning, a crew arrived early to remove part of the roof deck. Early Monday, a crew arrived for the rubber coating. By the time I came home from work on Monday, the roof was complete and the deck was replaced. The Horizon crew cut back a street tree that was scraping my roof as a courtesy. At my request, they returned the next day and removed the branches. They didn't ask for one cent until they had completed the job. Very good work, highly professional.

This spot has leaked before so I called and they came right out first thing the next morning. He left information for a permanent fix but also did the temporary fix free of charge. I also had a broken downspout drain that he looked at and told me how to fix, also free of charge. This is a great, honest company that I will definitely use to get my leak permanently repaired!

My experience with Horizon could not have possibly gone better. I read about 200 reviews of different roofers before I stumbled onto Horizon. Boy am I glad I found them. Ken is a very honest guy who cares deeply about his customers. When he came out to give me an estimate, by my own choice I climbed up the ladder with him to look at the roof. I had never been up on the roof before. I was not having any leaks but wanted to be prepared for the possibility since my house was built in 1920. When I got to the top of the ladder I was overcome with fear. Ken talked me down the ladder safely which I am eternally grateful for because i learned how afraid of heights I actually am. It turns out that I had a whole in my roof that would have leaked at some point if I had done nothing. When we both got on the ground, Ken provided me an estimate for a new roof. I have included a before picture because I sure needed a new roof. For $2250 he would install a new rubber roof and provide a 15 year guarantee. The price was very fair. He acknowledged that he new this was a large expense and offered to let me pay in installments. This was very gracious of Ken. Several weeks after Ken came out for the estimate I called him back again to do the job. Ken runs his business with military precision and is masterful at managing expectations. He always give a range of when he will arrive. For example between 10:30 and 11:30. In my experience with him he showed up early which to me is great. He dropped off the contract on a Monday or Tuesday and mentioned his guys could put my roof on the following week. Within a day or 2 Ken called back and said his guys could be there on Thursday. He said they would be there by 9am and that they would be done by 1 or 2pm at the latest. Again, Ken over promised and over delivered. His guys showed up at 8am and were done by 11am. Even the guys that work Ken are really nice. I told the two guys who installed the roof that I needed photos of the job they did. It was windy the day they installed roof. They forgot to take the photos but went up on the roof a second time to get them for me. Ken's guys were courteous and polite and went the extra mile for me. Ken should give lessons to other contractors on how to manage expectations. He is masterful at over promising and over delivering. He is also very fair and his prices are very reasonable. I wish every contactor was like Horizon Roofing. They rock and I would not hesitate to use them or recommend them to someone else. They ROCK!

We had a leak and they came out twice as the first fix did not take care of it. They also sealed part of our trim work that they suspected may have had some issues. It worked! They went above and beyond in their service and were so prompt.

The work was good, and their price was fair. They were very prompt in getting me the estimate and getting the job done. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

They did what they said they were going to do and they didn’t offer job on re-routing my gutter.

It went very smoothly. They turned up on time, were finished in approximately four hours, and left no mess.When they did the quote they checked out another, smaller roof area that had been repaired by another contractor two or three years earlier, but assured me that this did not need work.

Ken did a great job. Quick estimate, good communication, polite staff, very knowledgable. Fair price too. I highly recommend them if you have a flat roof in Baltimore.

Ken was absolutely teriffic! He was able to find and repair a leak that no other roofers could solve.

I got an estimate, they game a price, I signed an contract and they came and did the work without me needing to be there. The leaks stopped. It was near perfect.

Ken and his team were excellent: the work was done on time, and as agreed upon in our contract. Ken's a no-nonsense guy, does not try to sell you a bill of goods. Will most definitely recommend, and use them again!

We were finding some damp spots in our drywall and were concerned that it could be due to water leaking in from our roof. Ken came over on time and addressed all of my questions. Fortunately, instead of a roof problem he found some cracks by the window frames and under the roof overhang that were the likely culprits of our water problem could be easily fixed by $10 of silicone and recommended we just apply it ourself. I appreciate his honesty and willingness to show up on time to our house and provided us with a solution that didn't require us giving him a lot of money for something we didn't need to have done

Ken at Horizon is a professional. Communication is great, price is fair and he didn't want to do any work that wasn't necessary. The final bill was slightly under his estimate because he didn't charge for a piece of downspout he didn't use. I am confident that if he found problems he didn't know about he would have communicated them to me and dealt with me fairly. If you need a roof done, call Horizon Roofing and they will treat you right.

The company responded promptly, fixed the leak, made some other minor repairs (at no additional cost) and were very professional in every way. They are going on my speed dial for any future work I may need.

Horizon was very responsive, and provided detailed description of the work they were doing. Great, and courteous customer service! They did an excellent job on the roof itself, however the gutter installation was very sloppy and necessitated having them adjust/redo some area of the gutter twice. Haven't had a big rain yet, but it seems that they've fixed the gutter problem. Otherwise we were extremely happy with Horizon.

I received a quote the same day as I requested and had the work completed the next day or the day after. The owner and team were very responsive and efficient. The owner showed up with two workers and explained the project to them and left them to complete the work which took about 4 hours. They were on time and completed the project as promised.

There were a couple of spots on the ceiling that indicated leaks in the roof. On calling Horizon, Ken was prompt and performed the repair estimate the very next day. He took the time to send me pics of the roof, explained the condition of the roof , and also talked to the repair that he was going to do. As requested, he repaired the roof and patched it up where needed, and agreed to provide 2 service calls to address any future issues. He was also patient on receiving the payment late due to my travel. Unfortunately the wet spots in the ceiling showed up again with the recent rains last week, and he will be coming to take a look. I look forward to his service call to resolve the issue and address the leaks for good. Ken has been very responsive and professional, and seems to have a lot of knowledge and experience with the flat roofs in Baltimore. Will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Several small intermittent leaks had started after any substantial rain storm. Work was performed quickly and cleanly. They kept their appointments (for both the estimate and doing the requested work). Problems have not re-occurred since the work was completed.

Everything went well from start to finish...would not hesitate to use this company again.

He did the job and I have no complaints.

They were very clean and professional. The owner of the company followed up after the work was completed to make sure I wasn't having any problems with the roof. They were very polite and I am very happy with their work.

I called Ken. He came out the next day & evaluated my roof. He spent about 20 minutes on the phone explaining why the water was coming into my 3rd & 2nd floors. He talked to me about the different options I had to choose from. I choose him from the other quotes because he has reasonable prices & didn't talk at me. His crew did the work when he said they would. Roofing can be a very messy job. Not so w/Horizon--They cleaned up after themselves.

The workers from Horizon were excellent. They did quality work. They were very responsive and punctual. They did extra work for me. I think they have great character and I have been very pleased with them. I thought that their pricing was very reasonable. I highly recommend them.
