A roofer arrived at my place around 1pm (same day as my phone call). He examined the drywall and examined the roof. He quickly determined that what I was seeing was actually yellowed tape where pieces of drywall had been joined together showing through the less than adequate paint job. I'm sure he was right. The stain was a perfectly straight line and my original home renovator did a sloppy job. I was embarrassed that I had called him out, but he was very polite about it. Horizon Roofing is awesome, and I would recommend them to anyone!

I was initially pleased with how punctual, responsive and well priced this company was. I left a review on 9/14/2014. However since then I have contacted them about a leak that I am having. They came out right away and caulked a window sill which they believed to be the problem. The problem continued during heavy rains. They came a second time and said that there was a siding issue on the home. I have before and after pictures of the roof. When they installed the new rubber roof, they removed the aluminium flashing between the lower roof and the rest of the structure. The water now leaks into my bathroom right at that joint. I made them aware of this and spoke to Ken, who informed me that "they do not do flashing.... I will need to call a siding company." I am utterly confused because flashing the joint on a roof is definitely a roofer job, especially since they removed the previous flashing which was there for a reason. I am pretty disappointed at this and have called other contractors since being told this and they have all said the same thing..... you need to call them back and tell them to finish the job, because it is their problem. I am left holding the bag here with a roof that is now leaking when it was not leaking prior to Horizon completing work for me.

Flat-roofed row house with leaks was assessed and repaired by Horizon. The first fix was a replacement skylight that we discovered did not completely resolve all the leak issues. This required a few follow up visits to determine problem areas. Additional fixes in other areas of the roof were required. All visits were prompt and all concerns so far have been addressed at no additional charge beyond the skylight replacement cost.

It was the best customer service I have experienced in a very long time, everyone in his company was very pleasant, courteous, professional, friendly and on time every step of the way. I will definitely use this company again.

This is the third time that I have used Horizon Roofing and I could not be happier. Ken is extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. The work was completed professionally, the pricing was quite reasonable, the installers were very pleasant and everything was cleaned up perfectly. Ken addressed any concerns promptly and the completed work is top notch. I will continue to use Horizon for any roofing needs and I recommend them with no reservations.

They did a great job, and I have nothing but good things to say. They came in to repair my roof from storm damage. They put stuff down ahead of time to keep me from getting major leaks, they were on time, and got the job done in a day or two. It was terrific.

Horizon Roofing patched a sink hole in the front, coated my deteriorating chimney. They put flashing beyond what the insurance inspector required. All in all they went above and beyond to help me and secure my house from future problems, without any more charges. I can't recommend them enough. I contacted about a dozen roofing contractors. They were the only ones to arrive on time for the estimate, but also they were always here to do the job just when they said they would. They were incredibly efficient when they got here the job was done in 2-3 hours. They obviously knew what they were doing because they got rolls of material and cans and tools up 2 levels like they had a team of 10, although there was only 2 guys. I think they were done in 2-3 hours which I would have figured to take all day.

They got the work done in about a half a day and the price was really great. I had some issues with the gutters and they came right back out to make sure they corrected any issues. They are very responsive.

I had two other contractors come out and no one could fix it. When I met with him he said if he couldn't fix it he would use the money toward a new roof if that is what is needed. After doing work, and misdiagnosing the roof he informed me that I need to hire another contractor, but I still need to pay him. The problem has not been fixed and still has not been correctly diagnosed. The roof/ceiling is still leaking.

Ken at horizon was very professional. I spent a lot of time researching to find a good quality contractor that was highly recommended on Angie's List. Too many fly-by-night contractors out there that are not licensed by the Maryland Home improvement commission. I received a bid that was almost $1200 lower, but the contractor was not licensed bonded or insured. They offered me a three-year leak warranty. Verizon roofs give you a 12 year warranty with stipulations that you must have them recoat the roof every five years. Which is fair since they have to warranty it. After doing my research I found out that the contractor that offered me the 1200 less had a history of not coming back for repair warranty work. If there's one thing I've learned is that cheaper is usually not better. Can you price of 3800 was there because he has a history of backing his product. Can got the work done within two days of giving me the estimate. And did not require a deposit to start the work. Recommend!!!

This company was wonderful to work with right from the beginning (initially contacted through Angie's list on 8/15/14, estimate performed on 9/03/14, and work completed on 9/10/14). There were a few hiccups in initial scheduling, but part of that was our fault (we weren't paying attention to the voicemail message providing us with a different phone number to call because they were having phone issues in the office). Every single person we dealt with was extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. They made us feel at ease about the work we were getting done. Horizon's quality of work is excellent! I realize that only time will tell, but so far we've had a couple of very heavy rains since the work was performed an no leaking has occurred. The aluminum coating they put on the roof looks fantastic - and there are no paint splatters anywhere on the house from the coating. The guys did a marvelous job of cleaning up after themselves too - we couldn't even tell they were here. Most contractors I've dealt with, including other roofers, leave behind a giant mess to clean up - and worse, they leave nails behind for people to step on or drive over with their tires (why do contractors do that?)... anyway, you don't have to worry about any of that with Horizon. We are relieved to have a roofing company that is so experienced with flat roofs in Baltimore City. Horizon Roofing, Inc. will be our permanent go-to company if/when we have any roofing issues in the future. It is so wonderfully refreshing to receive such top notch, quality service that you can trust!

Horizon installed a new roof back in September of 2011. We recently noticed two small leaks and the roof is guaranteed for 15 years if coated every five years with an aluminum coat. Called, they came the next day and checked out the roof. Their conclusion was the leaks were coming from a small tiled section of the roof where some tiles were missing, not from the main roof which they installed. They fixed the leaks - at no charge - and advised me that the aluminum covering was fine and would not need a recoat for at least a couple of years. These guys do a great job, and stand by both the letter and the spirit of their guarantee. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

Had a same day estimate and hired them the very next day. That was a Friday. By Monday I have a new roof when I hadn't even heard back from some of the contractors I contacted for bids. They were there at the crack of dawn. So far no issues with the work and I am confident there will be no problems, but figured I would leave this review now. I was shocked that they did not require any upfront deposit, I just had to sign the contract. It is now Wednesday and he told me the invoice is in the mail which makes me feel like a bad person that I haven't paid them yet. It feels so unnatural! I would definitely hire again. They warrantied the roof for 12 years with an understanding I will recoat every 5 years. I checked their prices for the recoat and they are fair as well. The owner, Ken, was easy to talk to and even replaced the bulbs in my spotlight while they were on the roof for me ( I asked them if they could and they gladly did).

Awesome. I have spent more than a year trying to find a roofer that would just repair my roof and not try to push me into a whole new roof at exorbitant cost. I called Ken on a Friday and the next Friday he was calling me to tell me the work was done. He showed up for the estimate when he said he would, he did the work when he said he would and gave me his honest opinion on the health of my roof - which wasn't to get a new roof but to wait another ten years. An honest, timely roofer!

I have no complaints about the installation . The crew was nice and they worked quickly. I'm not 100% confident that our days of leaks are over. We had some leaking this spring. The roof is still under warranty so we called the company and they quickly responded. My only real disappointment was that no information was left for me on what they did to the roof to try to fix the leak. I finally called the company and spoke with an assistant who didn't really seem to know either. I'm waiting for a good, blowing rain to see if the roof holds up after this repair. My fingers are crossed. I gave an N/A on quality because I think the jury is still out. Like I said, though, they seem to be good, honest people.

It turned out well. I had 6 companies look at the roof and went with Horizon because of their knowledge of roofing systems. I actually used them again after this job, to repair a gutter.

Replaced old tar roof with a rubber coated one.It was done on time and has been well worth the money.

Horizon completely replaced a flat roof on my town home in Baltimore City. From the 1st contact, I was confident that I had picked the right company. They were prompt, cordial and professional. The person I spoke with, I believe it was the owner, wanted to make sure I understood exactly what I needed. Although. initially I was not that interested in hearing the details, he politely and gently insisted on explaining what was needed and wanted to make sure I understood. Great customer service. Did not take a dime until the work was done.

iCalled Ken on October 10 to get an estimate. He said he would be out that Friday for the estimate and that no one needed to be home, which was great. He called back and said that since they were calling for rain on Friday, the estimate might not be until Monday. It was heavy rain on Friday and he did show up early Monday and provided the estimate. We agreed to have the work done and since we wanted it done on either a Monday or Tuesday he said his next available for those days would be in 2 weeks, which again was fine and agreed on. He called the day before to let us know the men would be here around 8:30 and the work would last for about 2 hours. They replaced the downspout on the roof and installed a new rubber roof that looks great. Very courteous and professional. We won't know until it rains whether it has taken care of the small leak we had, but I am confident it will. The way everything was handled from the initial contact to the actual work was a very good experience with this company.

Ken responded quickly, was trustworthy and clearly described what work needed to be done to patch areas on my roof that were leaking. the pricing was competitive and not too steep for the work. When the patching fixed all but one area (since patching is troubleshooting), he came back to complete the project quickly. Would definetly recommend them and I am planning to use them in the future.

Ken showed up on time after being recommended to me and was very helpful. He spend nearly an hour pointing out sources of potential leaks and explaining how I can repair them myself. He had very good recommendations, including where to start, how to test for leaks, and how to maintain the roof. The best part was that Ken was honest, friendly, and refused to accept payment for his help. Other roofers my neighbor used tried to get him to replace the whole roof when he had the same issues as me. I plan to try fixing the potential problem areas myself and then call Ken back if more extensive work is needed. I'll certainly be using Horizon for any future roof work and will recommend them to all my friends -- if all contractors were like Ken we wouldn't even need Angies List!

Let me just say Ken, his receptionist, his crew and Horizon Roofing were a joy to work with from start to finish! My roofing had been leaking for some time and had caused some minor damage to my back bedroom's ceiling. I called and obtained estimates from another reputable roofing company. In all fairness the other company provided a fair estimate. However Ken of Horizon Roofing made the best of all impression of me. Aside from being professional he seemed to really care about the situation of my roof. I really appreciated that he wanted to do my roof as soon as he possibly could to eliminate any further damage to my roof and house. He just seemed to care! That made all of the difference in the world! He and his crew started on time and by the time I returned home from work I had a beautiful new roof, new gutter and downspout! He and his crew cleaned my back yard so nicely that you could never tell that he had ever been there! We will DEFINITELY use him again to repair the small roof to our front porch as well as spread the word about Horizon Roofing! Thanks so much Ken for turning a stressful situation into a smooth and seamless event!

The price was extremely fair and the quality of the work was excellent. All of the workers were extremely courteous and professional.

The owner was extremely responsive and was the only roofer out of 3 that specifically identified the problem and provided a cost estimate that made sense.
