John and his crew performed the task very promptly and professionally. They were conscientious -- left me with sparkling windows, and no mess.

When I initially spoke with the owner over the phone, he asked that I take pictures of the windows, doors and the light fixtures where I wanted to have the bulbs changed. I sent the pictures and then walked through with him the number of windows, doors, and fixtures that I had of each type. This was an extremely detailed and lengthy discussion. Based on the discussion, the owner told me that the job would cost about $350.00. We scheduled the job several weeks out. On the morning that he was to perform the work, I called him because I had not heard from him as to whether he would start first thing in the morning as promised. He returned my call and told me that he would begin by 11:00am. He called back later to tell me that he would not be able to start until 1:00pm. He showed up and began working and never indicated that there would be any difference between his original estimate and the cost of performing the work. When he completed the work, he presented me an invoice for $850.00. I was shocked and protested the difference between the estimate and the actual charge. The owner did not explain why he had not indicated that there would be a difference before he started the work. I strongly protested the bill and he became very defensive. He eventually reduced the bill to $650.00. I still did not agree with the $650.00, but I paid it because I wanted to move on and end the experience. If the owner had shown up at my house and saw that the project was going to be more costly than he had estimated, I would have been surprised, given the detailed conversation that I had had with him after sending pictures, but at least I would have had the option of deciding whether I wanted to proceed. This is no way to conduct business. I am writing this review because I do not want to see others treated in a similar manner.

We had a small problem with the time they were to arrive and do their job. However when they came they went straight to work and did a good job on my windows, screens and sills.

Our condo has two quite large three-paneled sliding doors, a glass side door (plus storm door), and several smaller windows consisting of 2 - 4 panels each. Mr. Waters and his crew did such a great job that we have had to think about putting a piece of colored tape at eye-level on the most-frequently used door panel to prevent ourselves from walking through it while closed. He and his crew were both friendly and highly professional, with great attention to detail and to making sure that everything affected by the process was clean and in order afterwards. Here's an example of that attention to detail: There had been something stuck to the side door which left a residue. One of the workers removed the residue with a blade. As he was leaving, Mr. Waters eye caught sight of a slight smear where the residue had been -- something most folks, including us, might not even notice. But Mr. Waters noticed, and didn't leave until he had found a piece of steel wool to remove the last remaining traces of whatever that had been. Clearview Window Cleaning Services may not be the least expensive that you can find in this area, but they are surely among the best. We most happily and heartily recommend them.

It took the crew of three, including John Waters, the owner of the business, about four hours to complete the job. On a typical window, the storms and screen had to be removed from the inside and cleaned on both sides. Then the windows were cleaned on the inside and on the outside using extension ladders, and the then the storms and screen replaced. This was the process for 29 windows on the front - top and bottom counted as separate windows. On the 25 windows were cleaned on the outside only, with some of them 60 feet off the ground! Our windows are 120 years old, and have never looked better!

John Waters and his assistant called and said they would be a little later than our scheduled time, but by only 1/2 hour, and arrived withing that time. They brought all their equipment (ladders, stools, buckets, squeegees, etc.) and went right to work methodically and in an organized fashion. They did a superb job, going into details I would have overlooked if I had done it myself. they charged a dollar a window more ($14 vs $13 per window) for some areas where they needed steel wool to remove crud, but told me before hand and gave me the choice. They removed and replaced all window snap-out grills, and all bric-brac on the sills. They had to scrape off some old semi-transparent window decorations as well. They left the house as neat as when they arrived. I am very satisfied and would use them again.

I'm sorry to have to give this review as I have used Clearview for years. They have always been a little unpunctual, but this time they were hours late. The result was that it was dar, so they couldn't see properly to do their work and were in a hurry to leave. They did a sloppy job and left a dirty wet rag on an upholstered chair. They had to come back twice to correct the work, and it was a hassle getting tem to return. I think maybe Clearview needs a younger manager to ensure that their good intentions become a good experience for the customer

Fabulous job. John and helpers Marvin and Kenny have magic in their buckets. Everything sparkles and no smears or drips anywhere. It is a pleasure to call them every fall and know that I can check off a nasty job from my pre-Thanksgiving list.

John is so personable and clearly takes pride in his work. He and Marvin did an excellent and professional job on our windows. Our house is four stories in the back and has several elevations. No matter...John and Marvin did a great job and I would not hesitate to refer him to my friends. I will definitely call Clearview again.

John immediately returned my telephone call and within a day we had set up my appointment. I live about an hour north of Baltimore and that was not a problem for Clearview. John and Marvin arrived on time and went to work on my vast number of windows, screens and sills. I suspect the windows hadn't been done in years and they did a great job! I would highly recommend them and would have them do my windows again.

We were very satisfied with the result. The work was very well done (the windows hadn't been cleaned in years!) and Mr. Waters and his assistant were courteous, personable, and professional. Not cheap, but worth it.

We are rehabbing the house to sell and have renovated most of the interior but did not replace the windows. The dingy windows really looked badly next to the freshly painted rooms, new flooring, new kitchen/bathrooms, etc. Once John worked his magic, the windows sparkle now and are a highlight of the house! In addition, he was very flexible with us in scheduling which we appreciated. Definitely recommend.

John and his team arrived on time. They were very nice. They did a FANTASTIC job on my windows. They look brand-new again! I would definitely recommend Clearview to anyone. I will do business with them again.

They did a excellent job. The windows look invisible they are so clean. They reached every window even the high big ones. They take pride in their work and it shows. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

I have lived in my home for 5 and a half years and though try to clean the windows on occasion, must confess they are hard to keep clean and look as such. So, I decided to call a professional. Based on the Angie's List reviews, I called John this week and left a message. Within a few hours he returned my call and set up a time to come clean the windows several days later. He showed up promptly with Marvin at the time he said he would. As noted earlier, my three story row home has hard windows to clean. They are double paned, non-tilting and have screens that need to be removed from every window to clean the exterior. In addition, the top two floors are quite high from ground level. But none of that mattered. From the second John and Marvin arrived, they said not to worry. They would clean all of the windows spotlessly. And boy did they ever. But I digress. John gave me a quote for $12 a window before starting. I agreed. But once the upper level process began, he said they windows would need to be scoured with a brillo pad, because of the deep dirt - and yes, they sure had deep dirt - and he'd need to charge an extra dollar per window. I didn't hesitate to say yes. I knew that they would aim to please and was I really going to make a fuss over $18 extra dollars if they final outcome was what I had hoped? They did the job in two hours. They removed every screen, wiped them clean, made sure to keep all areas clean in the house where they were working - they even removed their shoes when they did the upstairs carpeted level, and yes, made each and every window SPOTLESS!!!! It is truly the best Angie's List find ever. If you want/need to clean your windows and don't want to have to do the job yourself, Clearview is the way to go. I will highly recommend to all I know. And I will certainly call John again in the future.

I selected Clearview based on reviews of other customers. I was not disappointed. Mr. John Waters and his two-man crew did an excellent job! Windows had not been cleaned in some time; so, there was a lot of dirt in the sills. The crew removed the screens, cleaned them, replaced them. Cleaned all windows inside and out without having to remove window treatments. All sills were cleaned, including corners (which I specifically asked they be very detailed on this, and they were.) The windows sparkle!! It's so nice to look at the windows now. They also cleaned a chandelier and did an excellent job on that. In phone conversations with Mr. Waters he was always professional, friendly, and courteous. He returned phone calls promptly. Per Mr. Waters, "cleaning windows is our passion." A great team, a great job! I would definitely recommend them and WILL use them again. No need to research window cleaners now that I know about Clearview Window Cleaning Service.

John and his team are very courteous and professional. On their arrival, John and I went through the house to review which windows needed to be cleaned, after which the team immediately began work. The Clearview team was efficient and was particularly mindful of the hardware floors and draperies. My windows are completely clean and clear including a particularly difficult 'garden window' in the kitchen. I plan to hire Clearview again in the spring and highly recommend them.

I got the name from Angie's List; called and left a message one evening and had a call back by the next morning. The work was scheduled for 3 days later. We talked on the phone for how I calculated the number of windows and determined I did it correctly - if you have one big window (one pair of drapes) but it consists of 3 separate windows that counts as 3 windows - not one. I also asked what they use for cleaning solution and received a thorough explanation of how they clean them. They clean chandaliers too and I inquired about that and we are going to have them return and do that. The windows are SO clean it looks like you are standing outside! The window sills are very clean too and they removed all the muck that gets stuck in the tracks and the windows and sliding doors operate much easier now. I am very happy with this company from the communication I had with them and for the actual service that was performed. We didn't have the screens cleaned because they are out of the windows. I thought it was a trifle pricey (I had used another guy for some ~ 15 years but we couldn't connect this time and I was somewhat dissatisfied with his work). This cost about twice as much but the service was superb.

Wow. We'd never hired a window-cleaning service before. What a mistake. It now seems as if all of our windows are nothing but air. Truly. It's stunning. Indeed, our real estate agents were just in and they too were astonished. Astonished at how good the windows look -- from viewing the house from the outside and looking out -- and astonished at the price, which they thought very fair. John Waters and his crew are professional, hard working, pleasant, and willing to go the extra mile with old lead windows and ancient window frames. We've already given John's card to our real estate agents, and they've already tucked said card away for immediate use. Couldn't recommend these guys more highly. Delighted customer.

Very pleased. Very responsive. Kept in contact as we got close to the service date. Called the day of service to let me know they were running late. Everyone was friendly. WIndows look wonderful. Referred to a friend already.
