Description of Work: Simple repair to small window with a crack and screen repair. |Install crew and estimator were professional and friendly and did nice work. Reception and scheduling of estimate were not so good. Took three calls and two appointments for on-site inspection to get estimate. staff answering main phone lines are grumpy and unenthusiastic.

Description of Work: We took in shelves from our new glass fronted kitchen cabinets and they cut replacement glass ones so interior lights could shine through. They were quick, turn around time was a few days and very reasonably priced. Counter staff was helpful in choosing the correct glass and measuring and pricing. Will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Caplan Glass came for the estimate when they said they would but didn't tell me what it was for 2 weeks despite my calls. I was very surprised to learn that the mirror glued to the wall would cost 21.5 times what a similar hanging mirror costs

This is completely false. Caplan Bros gave a verbal estimate within 3 days of the request. After several days when the customer didn't call back after leaving messages a written proposal was sent. Furthermore, you can't compare the labor of hanging a framed mirror to installing a mirror with cut outs and installing it with channel. Response from Caplan Bros Glass
I am not 100% sure why the customer had an issue with us. The request for a quote was received on 8/27/13 and Caplan quoted the customer on 8/28/13. We received a deposit on 9/3/13 and ordered the material and installed the glass on 9/30/13. I think the material was received once and it was scratched so we had to reorder the glass and therefore it took a little longer than expected. Description of Work: Excellent, professional service! First time I was tricked by another glass company, they said the patio door glass can be replaced about $250, but after estimation, they raised to over $600. So I went back to Caplan Bros, which I gave bad review before since the estimation person didn't show up on time. The gentleman treat me very professional and explain why they charged $450, how the job will be done. Of course the person came in to service also did nice job, cleaned my glass shatters, even took away the wood board I used to protect my broken glass. Sorry Caplan Bros for previous review! This is a great business supported by a great team, definitely will recommend to other people!!!

Caplan Bros has been in business since 192 and we pride ourselves for our good service. However , there are time due to emergerncies the salespeople get delayed. We ususally have a window time of 2-3 hours. In this particular case the customer had a glass with muttions (grids inbetween the glass) that we couldn't match. The cost of our service included pulling the glass and temporary putting in a piece of glass until we could order the new glass using the grids from the old glass.
