They were able to start very quickly which was important to us since we couldn't get our house above 57 degrees in the dead of winter. Brad, who quoted the deal worked with us on pricing and fit our budget. He designed an innovative approach to solve a tricky problem resulting from a bad current ductwork design. His team was also creative, finding a way to get an additional heat duct to my kitchen, with no basement or crawl space to work with. They brought temporary space heaters to help keep us warm while they worked.

They got back to me as soon as possible. They did their best to get to my job as quickly as possible and repaired it in a very timely manner.

The project iniatially began as replacing the oil service and steam boiler, and then after the installation, we realized that the remaining galvanized piping in my house needed to be replaced. AJ Michaels provided outstanding technical and customer support throughout the entire project. And even though I realize their prices may be a little on the high end, I believe it was worth it as I easily passed the multiple inspections that were required for the new system to become operational. I especially appreciated their flexibility and ability to work through what became a changing scope of work. Before the service, due to corrosion in my galvanized pipes, it took almost three minutes for hot water to reach the shower on my second floor, and I could only run water from one faucet at time, or the pressure would drop to low. Since the upgrade, I now have the best shower in my neighborhood and great water pressure from all of my faucets - even if multiple faucets or appliances are dispensing water at the same time.

They did it for a reasonable price. They are very good and we were not pressured. He did not try to make money out of us.

We are very pleased with the service. Our old hot water heater started leaking. One call to AJ Michaels and they had someone out to evaluate our situation and to make recommendations. The offered to have the hot water heater installed that afternoon, but my schedule required holding off until today. They arrived on time, the service guys were great and friendly. They were fast and neat and performed better than expected. Highly recommend and we will use again!

The estimator came out the next day after initial phone call when our A/C system died. He measured our house and specified a system that could NOT be configured as estimated. A second contractor alerted me to the inconsistency between the specified components (A/C coil and furnace) that would not work. The larger coil which resulted in the higher $1,000 BGE rebate was too large for the specified furnace unit. Upon installation I verified the part numbers and in fact the contractor had installed a different part number A/C coil, not the one I paid for on the contract. AJ Michael acknowledged the error and refunded the difference in the cost for the coil. The BGE rebate was also less due to the smaller SEER rated system coil. The install team was very professional and did an EXCELLENT job!

They did a good job. They actually moved it in my attic so from where it was originally they had to move it and then they replaced the unit. They were reasonable. They did a good job. I interviewed probably at least 10 other people and there was other people that were reasonable but the one that they offered was a good unit. They did a good job to turn it in.

They are competent,reliable and I think they are fairly priced, and they come as soon as possible.

Another provider came out and diagnosed various issues with our 22 year old furnace and, ultimately, it needed to be replaced. I felt the other provider's quote was extremely high ($8000 for a bare-bones, basic system), so I called AJ Michaels. Their estimator, Don, came out on the same day-towards the end of the day- even though it was Christmas Eve. He discussed options, provided information about various systems and the BGE rebates we'd be eligible for if we chose certain higher-efficiency products. With his help, we opted for a Carrier 96% efficiency furnace and 16-seer A/C unit, each with a $400 Smart Energy Rebate. In the meantime, we got 3 other estimates, and AJ Michaels offered the best product for the best price. Installation was scheduled for 8 AM on 12/31/14. The team of three arrived early, put down covering on our (cream) carpeting, and were courteous and receptive to all of my questions throughout the installation process. Installation went smoothly, no issues whatsoever. A few days following the installation, I received a follow-up call from Ashley of AJ Michaels to check on how things went and make sure that we are satisfied with the product and with the services provided. I would highly recommend AJ Michaels. We found them to be prompt, courteous, responsive, and customer-service oriented.

Ended up not needing the service, but the company's communication was prompt.

Every thing went good. They showed up on time and did a complete system checkup.

I was hoping to have my furnace cleaned. The terminology between cleaning and maintenance are two different things according to their company. They were going to charge $225 for the cleaning.

I was displeased with the service provider.

The serviceman arrived at the house, but did not get out of the truck, then the truck left. Shortly afterwards, we got a phone call from the business office stating that the company did not service mobile homes. We deserve a refund.

I had 3 companies look at my furnace. All of them took advantage of an older single woman and quoted up to 1,200.00 for the job. I had to spend the last 2 months of last winter with no heat at all because I didn't have that much money. This year I called A.J Michael's and they fixed the problem for under $300.00. Bruce, my Service Man, was the most friendly, courteous and professional person I have ever dealt with. He gave me tips on how to keep my furnace working properly and took extra time to explain everything I needed to know. In my opinion, there is no better company than one that is honest. A.J Michaels has proven to be honest and trustworthy.

I had a small issue with scheduling the first go around. I needed the service at the latest time available which I was told was 330 pm. They called me at 1115 and told me the service tech was on his way. Had to reschedule for another time, this time it went very smooth. I left work about an hour early and good thing I did as i was driving home AJ Michaels called and told me they were on their way. No a problem as i planned for this. The service tech was great. went over everything he saw in my furnace and wrote up a very detailed reciept which i need for my home warranty. service was great tech was great highly recommend AJ Michaels.

I called AJ Michaels on a Monday afternoon, and they scheduled replacement of my water heater for the next day. The customer rep. I spoke to (Ashleigh) was great-- helpful and pleasant. The price she quoted for the work was exactly what I was charged--no hidden charges. I was told to expect delivery of the water heater ahead of the tech team and it arrived as promised on Tuesday morning. Kyle and Dave, the technicians arrived on time and went right to work. They laid paper to protect my floors and removed the old heater, then unpacked and brought in the new one. They managed to navigate a couple of sharp turns and a narrow staircase down to my basement without complaint. The installation was all done in about two hours. I couldn't have asked for a more seamless and easy transaction. Based on this experience, I will definetly use this provider again.

The customer service at A.J. Michaels was very nice and helped me get a refund for my service plan I purchased. However, I was charged nearly $250 for a technician to tell me what my problem was without actually fixing it. I'm not sure if that is standard rate, but I felt it was high.

Everyone that I interacted with was very professional, from the workers to the estimator. Paul was the lead guy on the job and he is fantastic, does a great job and even kind to my curious kids. The work was done on time and was nicely cleaned up afterward. The new furnace is beautiful and all of the piping work was meticulously done. My brother in law who is a home builder was impressed. We had an issue with a radiator leaking a bit after the change up. We were warned that this might be an issue since the radiators are old and have been used for steam heat for 80 yrs. They fashioned a new radiator for us and kept true to their original guesstimate for such a repair even though their original guesstimate was mistakenly 20% of the actual cost. I was glad that they had the integrity to stick by their word! Also had some issues with hearing harmonics as the water flowed through the old pipes. This was an unanticipated consequence of the change up but had more to do with this being an old house and not much to do with their work. They came out several times, changed the filter and even emptied the water out of the system to see if it would help. The humming sound remained. It has decreased over the past year and I have to say that my total gas and electric bill has been less than half of what I was paying for Oil alone. I don't regret doing this (the harmonics are less noisy than the steam banging that was going on before) and would definitely use AJ Michaels again for other work. Thanks!

Fine! Salesman courteous and explained the installation process. Workers arrived promptly on time. Put plastic on surfaces traveled through rooms to keep carpet clean. Very careful not to damage anything. Workers very professional. Old furnace and hot water heater removed without any problems. Furnace installed and tested and everything worked fine. Job completed in one day. Called to follow up. Inspected by Harford County plumbing, HVAC, and electrical departments. All said it was a very professional job well done.

We are very happy with the finished job. We had to have them reposition the boiler and the crew chief had them repostion the hor water heater they had both been installed in a way that servicing them would be difficult.

I got some estimates, and they were only the ones that could put up a air handler in the small attic that I have.

Happy 2014 to me. My furnace died on January 4. I called AJ Michaels because I have seen their van in my neighborhood on more than one occasion. They immediately scheduled a service call, and a technician arrived within an hour. His assessment was grim, and he scheduled an estimator to come out and take a look at the cost of a replacement. I had estimated my furnace at 17 years old; it was 30 and had been living on borrowed time long enough. The estimate was for an HVAC replacement, and the research I had done indicated it fell well within the realm of reasonability for the house size, etc. Costs lined up to what I had seen, and I was really impressed with AJ MIchaels' guarantee of workmanship as well as their warranty. It was a no-brainer; scheduled the work. Unfortunately, the units needed to be ordered. But AJ Michaels brought me space heaters to use in the interim, which was very customer-focused and much appreciated. The day of the install, Dan organized and performed the work, managing all the discussions with me and keeping me informed. I don't remember the last time any technician removed his boots when walking through a house - but every time Dan came out of the cellar, his shoes/boots were off. It reminded me of all the contractors my mom ever hired during our home renovations and how polite and neat they were. You just don't see that very much anymore. Another great example was toward the end of the job, Dan mentioned that there was a problem with the first furnace they had for me; they had to get a replacement from Hanover (about 40 minutes away, one way). I said, and quot;Wow, I didn't know that.and quot; He said, and quot;Yep, you didn't need to know that.and quot; THAT is great customer service. The work was completed within about 5 hours, and before Dan left, he told me he was going to run down to the neighborhood hardware store and pick up a filter for me - because I didn't have the right size anymore. He came back, put in the filter, and within a few minutes, he was tapping at the door to let me know everything was done. I would absolutely without reservation recommend AJ Michaels to anyone in need of plumbing or HVAC work - they are not kidding when they say that customer service is important to them. They are amazing.

The rep from AJ Michaels came within 24 hours of our first call. He quickly presented us with a proposal. We originally asked him to give us an estimate for a flexible tubing system instead of a metal duct system. He advised us against the tubing saying that it would cost 1/3 again more ($21K vs. $14K) and was not at all required for our sized home. We appreciated the cost savings and have not regretted their recommendation. They arrived on time, spent full days working, cleaned up behind themselves (to the best of their ability), and provided us with a quality system. The work was done on schedule. I added this review after reading a few and quot;Fand quot; ratings by folks who NEVER USED the services of AJ Michaels. I find that completely and utterly unfair. I have recommended them to family and friends, most recently on 12/29/2013.

My wife and I came home from vacation to discover that our water heater had exploded and our basement was covered in water. I worked all night to clean up the mess, and called a couple companies the next day to see about replacing it. Their prices were pretty comparable, everyone was saying about a thousand dollars. Other companies offered to have someone out in a few days, but AJ Michaels scheduled an appointment for only an hour from the time I called. The rep showed up on time and assessed the situation. The next morning, two workers came out and had the whole unit replaced in about 2 hours. They were very thorough in their clean up and even mopped up where they had spill some water in the living room.
