Contracted for Big Deal Bathroom Renovation; however, the contractor was unable to begin the work for another 90 days. Apparently they have so much work from the Big Deal that they have far more work than capability. The price was good and the people I spoke with were friendly and responsive, but I was unwilling to delay the job another 3 months.

I requested to speak with the company owner, Kris and after a week still have not heard from him. Obviously, business is good and they don't need my business. A company representative actually said that advertising with Angie's list has been great but that they are so busy that they can't even start another bathroom until September. They are so busy that they can't even get a quote to me after waiting 3 weeks. I had heard great things about the company and was willing to wait but I needed a quote to see if I wanted to use them, but they were not responsive! When I raised questions, I was told, ' We may not be the company for you!" And they were right! KRIS KONSTRUCTION you are not the company for me. FACTS: Originally called Kris Konstruction May 15 First available date to come out to home for quotes, June 12 After a week no response from company, called & got quote for patio that was over priced. July 2 called looking for other quotes for kitchen and bathroom, was told he had been to busy (in 20 days they were unable to get my quotes together.) Asked for a call back from owner. July 9 writing review on Angie's list.

They did a great job installing the roof. They finished quickly and cleaned up after they were done. Communication after the contract could have been improved. I was told I would get a call before delivery of materials with an estimated delivery and installation date but this never happened. The stuff was delivered without notification and the installers just showed up a few days later. But overall they did a nice job. Kris responded quickly when I called him.

I was a little skeptical about committing to such a big job with a company that I knew nothing about except for the reviews on here. I was very concerned about possibly having to accept compromises in quality because of the excellent price of the Big Deal. In short, this was the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. The estimator, Scott, was prompt, knowledgeable, made good suggestions, and was easy to work with. The size of my house exceeded the terms of the Big Deal, but the price adjustment was right on the nose based on the incremental material and labor requirements. There was no attempt to opportunistically jack up the price. They let me know a week in advance when they would be starting the job. The materials for the job were delivered a day in advance, right on time. The work crew showed up exactly when they said they would. Jason was the site foreman. I overhead him giving instructions to the crew...very professional, thorough, all business. The first morning, when we were talking about the job and he mentioned that he takes pride in getting the aesthetics right, I knew we were in good hands. The guys on the crew were all pros...clearly knew what they were doing, took the time to answer questions, asked us if it was OK when they needed to do something we hadn't already discussed. Chris was an artist when it came to getting the nooks and crannies on the siding just right. The job took just over four days, which was exactly what Scott had estimated. They did a superb job on the siding and the new window. Every detail was done cleanly and professionally. They did a great job of cleaning up....you would never know a work crew had been there for almost a week. As they were finishing, Jason told me that sometimes minor problems can appear later as the siding expands and contracts with the seasons. He said to be sure and let them know if there is ever a problem, even years later. He wasn't just saying that...he sincerely wanted to be sure everything was right and will remain so. I can't think of anything I would have wanted done differently. These guys are tip top in every respect. We will be using them again for some other projects. We are very, very happy with their work. I would recommend these guys without reservation.

Janice called the very next day to schedule appointment for Chris to visit our place. Chris gave us an heads up that it will be 3-4 weeks before design is ready. We waited for about 6 weeks and finally decided to email them. I received a reply back from Janice the very next day, apologetic, said design will be ready in a few days, and asked me to call her to make an appointment to see the design. At the 2nd appointment, Chris showed me his design and we talked about more changes. Chris was very nice, offered a 2nd design to be emailed to me based on our discussion. I received the 2nd design as promised and am happy with it. Despite the delay on 1st design, I think they did a nice job follow up, both were very professional. I would definitely use them again.

We are thinking of a kitchen remodel. The company sent Chris here to measure and get an idea of what we want. He had some very good ideas and we will soon being going in to pick out cabinets, etc. to get our estimate.

The original dates we selected were within a month of the purchase date, as the instructions just said anything after today. After a couple emails, the company emailed me and asked for a phone number to call. They called and were very professional. Unfortunately, due to volume, they were unable to schedule anything within 30 days, so the appointment was set for about 45 days or so after the purchase. During that time we decided to redo the kitchen ourselves without a design consultation.

Everything went well with the service for the most part. The head contractor was very experienced, very upfront about the job's costs, and very helpful in general. We've had a couple of minor issues with the work, but the company has made arrangements with us to correct them at no additional charge. Additionally, the price of the deal only reflected the bare bones necessities of a bathroom remodel which I found to be a bit misleading. However, after researching the prices of other firms, I found the final costs to be in line with others.

They showed up on time and very professional and courteous, but after the estimate was all done, the cost for everything ended up being around $12,500, so I will probably get the work done by another company.

The service worked out well. They were very easy to work with. Due to weather and our schedule and theirs they were able to get the work done at the best time given all of that. They were quick to respond and they were quick in trying to schedule. I felt it was quality work and the extra costs were fully justified. I would use them again and we have a different project that we will probably use them for. They were very helpful and they tried to make sure we stuck in the limits of our budget.

This is the first time I have used Angie's List for any repairs on my home and was skeptical at first (because it just seemed too easy) but it was very refreshing to work with Kris Konstruction and work with a company that provides great service. I reviewed several companies and received several quotes, but with the combination of the Angie's List ratings and overall value, I chose Kris Konstruction. The project began with just windows, but finally decided to go all the way and replace the roofing and siding. From the time I requested quotes to installation, everyone showed when they stated they would, were on time and very easy to work with! The overall products that I selected to the warranties provided me the best overall value to remodel my home. From the delivery of the products, to the installation and clean up, was top notch! The entire project took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to complete (including a couple of rainy days). My front and back door are on order from Kris Konstruction an just waiting for the delivery and final installation. I could not be happier with the work that has been done.

They were good and did what they said they were going to do

The service turned out okay. They were really nice, they came and did the estimate, it was a little more than I wanted to pay for the project, and so they gave me a refund. I will consider them in the future. They were super nice and super accommodating. They were timely, the communication was good, and they were friendly, and they were really professional. I thought the price was fair.

The quote the vendor gave was way high that we expected.

My overall experince was positive. They were fast and efficient. There were 3-4 people here doing the work and they were professional. The new roof took about 3 days to complete so they were timely.

We decided to go with a different material. Kris Konstruction Design & Build Group was very responsive and easy to work with. I have no complaints.

They were prompt, very nice and extremly professional. The only reason I did not choose them for the service is that I found someone cheaper and they normally specialize in bigger projects. Overall great company though!

I got an estimate from the company for the work, and the work is simply outside of my budget.

The big deal from Kris Konstruction Design & Build Group worked out good. They did an excellent job. Kris came out to the house and looked at the kitchen. The way it is now and the set up I have. I told them the changes that I was interested in making. He had good suggestions. He went up to his office and drew up floor plans. I went there and spent a couple of hours going over his ideas. He printed a bunch of the layout of the kitchen and some 3D colored photos and colored prints. He did an excellent job. I don't know if I want to remodel as much as we talked about. Everything was fine. The interaction was really good. He really paid attention and knew where I was coming from and what I was interested in. He did an excellent job. It is just the cost. I don't know if I want to invest that much money in our kitchen basically. The cost was exactly the 99 dollars for the big deal there was nothing extra added on to it. They called me and set up a date which was probably around the beginning of February or end of January. I went to their office on March 18th to go over the layout that they had come up with. I would use this provider again in the future. The price was more than what I wanted to pay but for the amount of work that they were going to do I would give them an 'A'. They really were going to do a lot of work.

They came out for an initial meeting and am waiting to receive a detailed estimate/quote. The person whom I met with (I do not remember if it was Kris or Joe) was great! He was very attentive to detail, patient and had some really good ideas. He even extended the appointment time with me when he realized that we wouldn?t finish in time for another meeting so that he would not be rushed while we were talking. When we were done, he left me with a nice kitchen brochure and told me that it would take 3 weeks for him to get back to me with more detailed figures and follow-up questions. Overall, I was very pleased with the professionalism, knowledge base, quiet confidence and attention to detail. Of all the people that had come to give us estimates over the previous 3-4 weeks, he was by far the most impressive, and I look forward to working with him. --UPDATED REVIEW--06/19/14 After starting to speak with contractors in early February, I was so impressed after my meeting with KK on March 3rd, that I stopped contacting other companies altogether. I felt I had found the right match and was eagerly looking forward to working with them.Even though I was told that it would be 3 weeks before they got back to me with detailed plans and might not be able to actually start doing work for another few weeks after the plans were finalized, I felt it was worth delaying the start of my project a bit to work with such a good crew. No contracts were signed up front and no money was exchanged (nor was it asked for), but I was sure that I had found the right fit and was excited to move forward. Boy was I wrong! Despite my initial very strong favorable impression on March 3rd, after nearly 4 months with absolutely no follow-up from Kris Konstruction, despite numerous voicemails and multiple conversations with the receptionist in the interim. I thus feel the need to severely downgrade my rating of this company and inform other customers of what may lay in store for them if they take decide to mistake I did. I understand that a company may be busy, or perhaps, for some unknown reason, they decided to not take me on as a client (although their April 17 response [6 weeks after the initial visit-and 3 weeks after they were supposed to get back to me], "we are looking forward to working with you!!" strongly suggests otherwise). I fully support a company's right to choose their clients, as I am also a service provider myself, (albeit in a different industry) and am quite selective about whom I take on as a client. The crucial difference is, I respect my potential clients enough to inform them right away if I will not be working with them, so that they can seek desired services elsewhere and do not waste their time and energy anticipating something that is not coming. There is simply no excuse to leave a customer hanging in the wind for MONTHS, particularly after writing in a public forum that you look forward to working with them, and then receiving multiple messages and voicemails requesting feedback and updates. Even if the contractors had suffered some kind of emergency, the company would still be responsible to inform clients of the situation and apologize for the delay. Thankfully, that was not the case, and the receptionist confirmed for me on multiple occasions that no calamities had befallen members of the company and they have just been really busy fulfilling Angies List coupons projects and assured me that the ball had not been dropped. During my last conversation with the company receptionist (about 3 weeks ago), I again voiced my mounting frustrations at the months of unresponsiveness despite multiple calls and requests from my end. Once again, she promised to get back to me right away after conferring with the project manager. Different cover, but same old song - still nothing but crickets..... I am done waiting and will not continue subjecting myself to such unprofessional and inexcusable corporate behavior. Kris Konstruction may indeed be capable of doing excellent work (as asserted by past Angies List reviews), and might even be professional once they start a job. Sure, it's possible that my experience was an exception, but maybe not. Take a look for yourself at the recent trend in reviews from multiple sources. As any behavioral expert will tell you, past behavior is far and away the best predictor of future behavior, and I will be staying far away from them from now on. I value my time and have too much self-respect to sit in the dark for another 4 months making phone calls that will never be returned, being lied to by receptionists and wondering if my projects will ever be completed. The good news is that since throwing in my Kris Konstruction towel two weeks ago, I have had initial visits from a number ofwell-reviewed companies on Angie's List with similar scopes of service. My faith in Angie's List has been restored by the responsive and excellent service I have received from these companies. It is especially gratifying to finally be making progress on plans that have been laying dormant since February, while I waited to hear back from Kris Konstruction. Bottom line - There are many great companies to choose from on Angie's List. Read the reviews carefully, paying especially close attention to the most recent ones and don't be afraid to walk away when a company disrespects you. If they can't even bother to treat you properly, why you would trust them with you money?

Contract negotiation went well Construction phase went well. Inspections went well

Chris was on time and was experienced in discussing kitchen renovations. Everything went as described in the Angie's List deal, from consultation in the home to reviewing suggested plans and pricing n their shop.

We are very happy with our new kitchen, laundry room and bigger family room. We liked Kris Constructions design and their solution for a drainage problem. Their estimate seemed reasonable and the estimates for changes, upgrades and fixing several unforeseen problems were also reasonable. It was sometimes hard to get in touch with our project manager but in general everyone was pretty responsive. The crew was very good at cleaning up at the end of the day. I would definitely use Kris Construction again.

We got our bathroom almost complete redone - new tub, new tile around the tub, new sink, new tile floor, and new wainscotting around the bottom of our walls. This was done as part of a Big Deal, so the price was very good overall. Jim, the main worker, was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the final product was pretty good. My only complaints would be that the crew didn't do a very good job of containing the dust (leaving the vent uncovered as they demoed and leaving the door mostly open as well left my mainly living areas with a nice coating of dust). Additionally, some of the finish work - caulk and skim coating could have been a bit better. The work also took a bit longer than expected as Jim was called away to other jobs several times. That being said, I am very happy with the final product.

Was supposed to get 24,000 worth of kitchen remodel for 10,000. Our quote was 20,900, so we had to put up an additional 10,900. Asked since we are putting up 20,900 are we getting 50,000 worth of kitchen remodel and was told no. We were saving 3-5000 maybe. This price also did not include the cost of materials like tile and grout. This is a classic bait and switch and is illegal.
