My interaction with them was very good. They could have run up the bill, but they did not. They found out what was wrong and repaired it and also did a couple of things and it cost me a lot less than I thought. I spent about $40 on that work. They did a good job. They people that came out and did the work was polite, professional, knew what they were doing and they cleaned up after themselves.

From the start, Carl's Door Service made the whole process easy on me. I live in Virginia and the house is in Maryland. We never met in person but handling everything long distance was no problem. This company is superior in every way: communications with the client (even one that was long distance); quality of work; quality of product; knowledge of the products; expertise; and they did what they said on the date they committed to; always EXTREMELY courteous and helpful when I called. I couldn't believe my good luck when I found Carl's. I wouldn't use anyone else but this company to do the job.

The person who would be installing the door came to my house, measured the 3 openings in which I wanted new doors, and gave me brochures. After he completed measuring, he assisted me in choosing doors that would fit the openings. He did not, however, have pricing. Several days later I received an email with images of the doors I had selected along with the pricing. Since the doors and installation were much more money than I was able to afford, I did not have Carl's doors perform the work. As a check, I priced the Anderson French Doors at Home Depot and discovered the door unit alone was $3k; had I known that, I would have selected a different model. Although I did not have Carl's Doors perform the work, I was impressed with the quality of service offered and the helpfulness of all involved. I am confident that this company would do an excellent installation with high quality doors.

Showed up at the appointed time for both the estimate--springs couldn't be replaced at that time--and to do the repair. Service was friendly, helpful, and professional. In addition to replacing the springs, the garage door was lubricated and a minor alignment problem which was causing the door to jam on the way down was fixed.

Technician came out, was on time, showed us what the problem was. He lubricated the rollers, adjusted the clutch on the garage door opener and said that if we had any further problems to call back. All work is guaranteed 90-days. Very pleased with the service. If and when we replace this door we will definately use this company for the work.

Went well - professional. Be aware they don't paint the doors so I had to get my painter back in to paint them before they could be assembled. Would have like that to be included. Otherewise they seem pretty dependable - showing up as promised.

The installer was a little late. The door installation went very fast and looks great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new garage door. Visting the showroom was helpful in order to see the options available.

Everything about the experience was good. My phone call was answered promptly and someone came out within a day or two to provide an estimate. Brochures with the doors carried were provided and it was easy to select a new door. I was reminded that I could get a tax break for energy saving, and a paper was provided to support my filing for a IRS refund. It took only a couple of weeks to acquire the doors, and installation went smoothly. The installers set up everything and I am extremely pleased with the products and service.

Estimate was done when promised. Very professional and helpful. Price was a little higher than another List company nearby, so we went with the local company in case of later short-fuse repairs.

My automated garage door would not close. I called to set an appointment for someone to come out and do the necessary repair. The person I spoke to suggested I try a few things that might work in lieu of me paying a $144.00 service charge for them to come out. I tried the suggestions and it worked! They saved me $144.00.

We are very happy with the product and the installation. Would highly recommend to all and will definitely use Carl's Door Service in the future.

Sales person came as scheduled, took his time explaining everything and answered all questions. Door arrived ahead of schedule and was promptly installed. Beyond cleaning up after themselves, the garage was cleaner than when they started.

I called on Thursday and they came on Friday. Expected between 1:00 and 4:00 PM the guy (Kevin) showed up a little past 12:30. I explained the problem and he asked if I wanted to replace them or for him to repair them. Since I had been having trouble with each sensor for a while I said to replace them. He completed the job in about 1/2 hour then tuned up the operating mechanism and lubricated the rollers and rails. He was pleasant and profesisonal at all times.

They showed up promptly for our appointment. Their representative was excellent! We stood outside talking and laughing throughout the whole meeting. He told me step for step what needed to be done. They have been quite responsive to our needs. The price was lower than what I had expected. So far, the experience has been very pleasant.

The spring on 1 of the garage doors broke. We couldn't open the door. I called Carl's door service on a Tuesday and they were out the next morning. I was told that they would be out between 10:00 and 12:00. At 10:00 sharp he was here. I told him that both doors made alot of noise, so he replaced both springs and lubricated both of the doors. He was extremely professional and friendly. It only took him about 45 minutes to complete the job. The doors are as good as new now.. Very satisfied

Carl's Door Service gave me a few hour window for my appointment and arrived right on time. The work took about 90 minutes to complete, and they were able to accept my credit card and process the payment during the visit. I was very happy with the result and do not anticipate any more trouble with the door. Recommend!

Despite the fact that this company is really far from my home, I scheduled our garage door opener to be replaced strictly based on reports I had read on Angie's List. I called on Monday and they came out on Thursday. The motor in our 20+-year-old opener was dying and needed to be put out of its misery! I paid a bit more but wanted to get a top-of-the-line, very quiet model. Wow! The one they sold me over the phone has got to be the best and certainly the quietest model. I can't believe I put up with the old clunker for so many years. They came exactly when they were scheduled and had with them the one request I made-three key chain remotes rather than visor remotes. The old one was gone, the new one was up and running and all within one hour. The guys were great. Professional and cleaned up after themselves.

Salesman was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the right door for the garage/house. Did not try to oversell me (i.e., did not try to sell insulated door when did not need one). Installation was one of the best experiences I have ever had with someone doing work at the house. Made sure everything was "just right" and not merely worried about completing the install and getting out of there. Also spent the time to review upkeep in the future. Will recommend this company to any who ask.

They told us ahead of time what we needed to move out of their way before the job started. When they got here, they got right to work. The door looks great and seals against the cold winter winds.

They arrived promptly to provide a quote. Their quote was the most professionally done of the 3 companies that quoted on the job, and the price was the lowest. They arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule to do the job. The installation was done well and they took time to explain the features of the new doors and openers.

Carl, the door service repairman, was on time, courteous, very reasonably priced and most importantly knowledgeable and skilled. He succeeded following two other repair attempts (one by a company who attributed problem to hot weather; and another company who stated door could not be repaired and tried to sell me a new door).

Called Monday - Appointment Set for Wed. Scheduler was honest and up front, in that due to my service area, I would be assessed a $60.00 travel Charge as opposed to the standard $25.00. (Beyond T and M for the job) I went with the company anyway based on the prior Angie's List reports. Technician was running ahead of schedule and called to ensure arriving earlier would be acceptable with my schedule. Technician was courteous and professional. He did not oversell and provided ongoing suggestions for routine maintenance. Service was very good, and I felt a fair price for work he did.

I found Carl's door through Angie's list. They squeezed me in on short scheduling notice and got there exactly on time. Mike (the door tech) assessed the door, determined springs were defective and cable needed to be replaced. He quickly installed new parts 20min and lubed both garage doors. He then advised me to only use WD40 when lubing doors. Next he disassembled the door opener motor to check the gears-all was well. Mike then programmed a new remote control to open both my doors (took about 30secs per door). I am very pleased with the door repair service. It was fast, complete and affordably priced at $241.

A spring on one of two garage doors broke. After reading the very good report on Carl's, I called them for an estimate. They told me they thought the cost would be around $150.00. Matt came out and did an excellent job! He was friendly, efficient, and he gave me very good advice (I think) on ways of solving other problems in the garage (one of which may cause me to ask them to return). The final cost was larger than the estimate, but I have a feeling the main difference main have been caused by some confusion. The person giving the estimate may have used a cost for replacing only the broken spring, when putting in a new matching pair is probably preferable.
