Technician came out to assess our non-working garage doors. Within a few minutes he was at work changing springs, and oiling parts as well as tightening lose items. He looked at our actual doors, said they were in good shape and explained what to look for in garage door openers and gave us a price on a new one. The technician was awesome, he didn't try and oversell he fixed our doors (they are quietest they have ever been) in a professional manner. We will definately recommend and use them in the future

I got the name from Angie's list. The company showed up on time and accommodate our family's busy work schedule. Service was excellent and thorough. I would use them again in the future. The price seemed reasonable for work completed.

They drove more than 40 miles and the cost was reasonable. He didn't try to sell me more products. He showed up early for the appointment. He was very professional.

Timing on everything was just as promised. Estimate was given within 2 days, and he even fixed the damage so the door was operable until the parts came in. That was great! Parts arrived and were installed (also within 2 days). Installer double- and triple-checked that everything was working properly before he left.

Had a broken spring on a custom oversized 2 car garage door. The service tech actually had the spring that would fit on his truck and was able to complete the repair in short order. They were on time, reasonably priced and very professional. We will absolutely uses Carl's Door Service again.

The installation went very well. Carl's was there on time and completed the work in a reasonable time frame. The doors and openers look and work great. So much quieter than the original doors. Satisfied customers is a form of advertisement that money just cannot buy. I would recommend Carl's to anyone.

We haven't had our new garage door put in yet. We think it will probably be better to do it in the spring. But we will definitely be calling Carls.

The job was completed in one day and the installer went over the operation and safety features with me. He was courteous and professional and cleaned up after completing the job. The doors operate perfectly.

One of the two cables connected to the garage door snapped. I called Carl's for an emergency repair. The response was quick and and the repair completed professionally.

Fixed a very old garage door. Carl's garage door did a very nice job. Friendly people, Fast service. I also appreciate they didn't give me the "hard sell" on their products. I probably needed a brand new door, but they were happy to fix my existing door and not try and sell me a new door. When I need a new door, I will call them back.

They are very trustworthy and the doors are very good. The second time we used them, they said they didn't even need a deposit since we were an existing customer.

Carl's came out within 3 days of my call to do measurements and discuss options and what I wanted and gave ballpark prices for each option. They provided books that showed all the options for wood, steel and fiberglass door models, colors, hardware and glass selections. I chose a more expensive option of fiberglass and the highest price glass options, my personal taste, However a steel door and other glass selection, or no glass, would drop the cost from what I paid significantly. The ProVia door came within the 3 weeks of ordering just as they said it would. ***Carl's also came immediately to look at my broken garage door opener and came back to install a new one the next day when they determined it was too old and too expensive to repair.

My garage door remote stopped working, but changing the battery didn't help. I called Carl's Door Service because their name and phone number were on the two remotes and on the first homeowner's paperwork. Original paperwork showed that the garage door opener had been installed in 1987. On the first visit, the service technician first replaced the battery and the garage door activated. I was not amused by this and had a few choice words to share, but the technician remained calm. I tried the remote from the driveway, but the door didn't open. The technician then replaced the receiver, and we tried it with the new remote. The new remote worked inside the garage, but worked only intermittently from the driveway. At this point, the technician suggested that the only real fix was to install a new controller. We scheduled the installation for the following week. The same technician arrived (early) and installed the new controller, tightened all the connections, and replaced the rubber thing on the bottom of the door. He carefully went over all the new bells and whistles of the system with me before leaving. The new system has worked flawlessly ever since.

Overall, everything was great. He was prompt and informative.

The estimate came in at $1500, then I got it down to $1100 when I offered to remove and dispose of my old door on my own. I asked why other Angies List users got a 2-car garage door for $700, and he said because mine was a custom width and had a 5% markup. But that math doesn't go from $700 to $1100. He didn't seem to listen to me when I said I didn't need anything fancy...just basic uninsulated garage door. I do not recommend them if you know exactly what you want because they seem to have add-ons which they claim you have to go with. NOTE: service provider's response to this review mentions haul-away of existing door was expensive due to lead paint, but I informed him that I would handle removal and haul-away of old door myself. His price still proves inordinately high when compared to other people on AL who paid significantly less for install AND removal of their old door. My quoted price was only for door install. Custom door upcharge netted to 5% increase. So if a door costs $300 at Home Depot, it's unclear how it gets to over $1100 if Carl's does the install. and quot;Customand quot; means 15 feet 4 inches instead of 16 feet. Not that big a difference.He is correct in his response, our interaction was quite friendly and polite. He was a nice guy, very personable. But I feel that he may have misread me as someone who could be charged a higher price than normal for one reason or another. I suppose Carl's Door must be doing so well in this economy that they can afford to turn away business and not budge on price, but I am not going to stand for getting gouged on price regardless of whether he was a nice guy or not.

They were very responsive in setting up the appointment. The price for the repair was lower than I expected based on similar repairs by other companies. Overall, very happy with service.

I have a torquemaster system that needed to be repaired. This is an outdated door system, but I did not want to pay $400-$500 for a new system. They gave the the contact to another competitor that actually does this type of work. I am truly grateful, and will most certainly call Carls when I do have to change my entire door system in the future (hopefully a long time from now...). Thank you very, very much!

They came out both times right on time (early both times, actually), and were extremely courteous and efficient. I availed myself of the option to get a "double duty" spring at a higher price, to try and avoid our cars being trapped in our garage again. They also lubricated the hinges and rollers, replaced a light bulb in my electric opener, and adjusted the chain on the opener. I would definitely call Carl's again if I needed any other kind of garage door work. The listed cost was the total for both calls.

We had a garage door that had trouble closing without trying to twist itsef apart, and also when it got to the bottom, would touch the ground, and come back up to the open position. We called Carls door to come out and take a look and give us an estimate to repair the door. he was very detailed and compete going over the whole system, tightening and adjusting, and repairing. he told us that our garage door motor was a cheap one with plastic gears that could fail and probably should be upgraded, but he got it back in service with the right adjustments. I'm late in reporting this service, but it's been 2 years, and the door is still working well. I would highly recommend him to anyone. the date and service cost are from memory, so may not be exact.

Our garage is stone and installing the door frame was more complicated than expected. Carl's stayed until the job was done which ended up taking most of the day.We were really happy with the entire experience from our sales consultant to the finished product. It looks great and is so easy to use.
