Mitch, the owner, did the inspection himself. I can't even begin to heap enough praise upon him. He is very personable, friendly, and amazingly thorough. He was recommended to me by a friend who does high-end home construction. Mitch arrived early and spoke with the sellers, before they left, and asked about any hidden things he'd be likely to find. He took 3.5 hrs to cover every inch of the 2800 sq feet, from the top of the chimney to the far corner of the crawl space. He'd have taken longer, only because of his thoroughness, but the sellers were getting antsy about returning home. Our property is on well and septic. Mitch subcontracts the septic tank inspection, and the company he uses also deserves an A+. In addition to the home inspection, Mitch inspected our chimney, wood burning stove, well pressure flow, and did a pest inspection. He can also perform a radon test (we did not need) and a water quality test, on our well water (subbed to the same company that does the septic inspection). I followed Mitch everywhere, except for the roof and part on an unfloored attic. He was quick to point out things I can easily take care of myself, and offered suggestions on potential repairs. Things don't end when you get the final inspection report from Mitchell Home Inspections. Mitch is available to answer any questions, go over the report in more detail, and due to his extensive background experience, answer any contractor questions. I've already had the opportunity to recommend him to a few friends, in the short time since he inspected our home, and will continue to do so.

Mitch responded promptly to my request for a home inspection and was flexible with scheduling the visit. He was recommended to me by my sister and mother who both used his services and spoke of him with high regards. I vouch for his professionalism and thorough job inspecting everything. He went on the roof and went as far as he could into viewing my attic (it was not accesible but he still tried). The report came quickly and was very detailed. Great service and nice person too, very friendly and professional.

Mitch and Jim arrived on time and got to work immediately. They covered every aspect of the house and deck (inside and out), every window, door, outlet, crawl space, attic access, room, heating, cooling, and water systems. Taking pictures of items, taking readings, testing appliances. They were very methodical and thorough. As they worked, they were also clearly explaining items to me and answering any questions I might have. They were professional and pleasant the whole time. The final detailed report was delivered the next day of all the items (with photos) of concern. They also made it clear that should I have any follow-on questions I could reach out to them for clarification.

I had a short suspense date, and no one I called was able to accommodate. I called Mitchell and he had multiple bookings. Once I explained my situation, he was able to dispatch two of his guys the SECOND DAY! I came to the property and met the two inspectors who were there half an hour early and had already started inspecting the house. I honestly felt like I knew the guys from the way they treated me. They were extremely respectful, professional, and accommodated my lack of knowledge in the area of home inspecting since its my first home. They carefully went through everything and explained in details what theyre seeing and also made recommendations based on their prior knowledge. I am much more informed because of them, and the time the inspectors took to help me better take care and manage my new home. I'd highly recommend hiring them and would absolutely do business with them again.

The home inspection went great. This was actually the 2nd home I had Mitch inspect and I decided to use him again because of his knowledge and attention to detail. We spent hours inspecting my new house and he provided us with a very detailed 40 page report from very minor issues to larger ones that helped negotiate a better purchase price. Mitch & his team were very prompt, arriving before scheduled inspection time. His inspection performance and report summery were very thorough. They took the time to look at every little detail possible and took pictures of everything you can imagine. Mitch was absolutely fantastic! Scheduling and payment were seamless. He also provided us with an electronic invoice that was easily forwarded to our lender. We had a start time of 8:30 for the inspection. When we arrived at the property Mitch had already arrived and gotten started. Through each area of the home Mitch explained what he was looking for and why it mattered. He also explained each issue he found as it came up in detail that we were able to understand. We had the full inspection report with in 24 hours of the inspection. The report was detailed with photos of issues as well as "homeowner tips" in each section. After working with Mitch we felt we had a great handle on the scope of the work that would need to be completed once we closed on the property. We will absolutely hire him for any other inspections we may ever need.

I've bought five homes over the years and far-and-away Jim Mullins from Mitchell Home Inspections was the most thorough and competent home inspector I've met. Other inspectors I've used in the past just ran through a minimal checklist as fast as they could so they could get to the next job. Jim showed up early and took his time to ensure he covered every aspect of the house. He patiently explained every observation and pointed out even areas of minor concern. He even explained things that were working fine and showed me how to know that they're in good shape. It was truly evident that he was looking at the house as if he were the buyer--throughout the inspection, he would point something out and explain what he would do with the issue if it were his house. Many home inspectors nowadays use technology as a gimmick; they'll take a random assortment of digital photos and attach them to the report, doing you no good. Jim took meaningful photos (many with a tape measure or thermometer for context) and put detailed captions/markings in the report, so even years later we'll know what we're looking at.

The service was excellent. As first time buyers, Mitchell thoroughly explained all the items in the inspection and even items that would be covered by the HOA. My fiance and I left with much more knowledge than we thought was ever available to us. The inspection put us in a positive situation to ask additional questions of the seller about the property.
