 + -1 moreOur Heat'n'glow gas fireplace would not lit, so we called for service. Two technicians from Heidler Inc arrived next day. They were very familiar with our unit and disassembled and completely cleaned it. They found a lose wire from the pilot sensor that was preventing the fireplace from lighting. They left a stamped postcard for feedback on their service which we completed and mailed to the office.
Description of Work: Cleaned, inspected, repaired a propane fuel gas fireplace.

 + -1 moreIt went well. They were prompt, they did the job in two days instead of one as anticipated originally but they did not up the price. The two gentlemen that came were very professional and courteous. We are very happy with our work.
Description of Work: Two plumbers came and moved our bath tub and toilet plumbing to different locations in the bathroom during renovations. They re-routed the pipes, set the tub and installed the toilet flange. They also moved the sink pipes to work with our new vanity.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreThey reacted quickly for our call for help on the day after Thanksgiving and charged us a reasonable rate of $59. They jury rigged it so it would work over the weekend and showed promptly on Monday. We questioned the cost of $593 and were told that they charged by the job, not the hour. It took them only about 2 1/2 hours to put it in. A little under $300/hour for labor only! We complained to AO Smith who recommended this company and they did little but say that it would be noted. If someone can tell me that the cost was reasonable, I'll back down, but I think we could have forgotten about the warranty, gone with a different water heater and had it installed for a bit less that the labor it took to get ours replaced.
Description of Work: Replaced a power vent water heater that was under warranty.

 + -1 moreThe plumber was very competent, honest, and professional. I had thought we would need an expensive replacement of the upstairs shower fixture, and he told me we only needed a knob. It works great now. This was our first experience with this company, and it was much better than the experience we have had with other plumbers.
Description of Work: The plumber replaced our kitchen sink disposer with a new one that we supplied, and he rerouted the dishwasher drain line to the disposer. He also replaced a knob on an upstairs shower and a faucet on the outside of the house.

 + 0 moreArrived outside of the window of 12 noon-2pm, but we had only called that day for service and they said they could fit us in. Also a bad weather day so everyone should be cut some slack for that! We more appreciated it that they could fit us in that day.
Description of Work: Called them regarding a leaking kitchen faucet and a non-working gas log fireplace. They gave me an exact price over the phone regarding the servicing of the fireplace (which had not been done in about 10 years!). They said $125 and that's exactly what it cost. The faucet was just loose and therefore required no actual repair so we were not charged. We had Tim look at a leaking outdoor faucet/hose. They replaced the washer in the hose also without charge. While at our home we asked his advice about fixing another gas fireplace. His recommendation sounded so good that we plan to have the work done in the near future. The technicians were fast, polite (took shoes off at door), cleaned up perfectly and, most importantly, the fireplace works well.

 + -1 moreCustomer service gave me a 2-hour window for my appointment, so I didn't have to miss a half-day of work. Casey actually arrived a little before I did and waited for me. I was being charged by procedure, not by the hour. He kept me aware of the cost of each procedure and told me when it probably would not be worth the cost. He told me alternative ways to handle each problem when possible, and he told me step-by-step how I would need to replace the sink fixture. He even gave me some spare connectors he had in the truck. He was very helpful, thorough and professional.
Description of Work: Service call was to fix a toilet (which we had tried to fix but had trouble), locate a leak from 2nd floor into the ceiling in the garage, and to fix a broken valve causing a leak in the bathroom sink. Casey fixed the toilet and searched for, but could not find a leaking pipe. He offered to replace the valve at the street level, but said the repair would cost a lot and was not needed. (I was planning to change the sink fixture, and he said that would take care of it.) He noticed that the sink drain was slow and cleared it at no charge.

 + -1 moreWe had been having a hard time even getting anyone to give us an estimate on this job, which was both too small and too messy for most plumbers to want to bother with. The receptionist was courteous and pleasant and scheduled the work at our convenience. Two Heidler employees showed up on time, were also very nice and polite, and completed the job in a little more than an hour (we had been told by another plumber that it would take all day!). The work was excellent, the price was right, and it was all done efficiently and with a smile.
Description of Work: A pipe to an outdoor faucet was broken under our house, which can be accessed only through a crawlspace. The plumber got into this very tight spot, replaced the broken pipe, and relocated the outside spigot.

 + -1 moreHeidler actually fixed this when another plumber could not. They fixed it ion one hour. It was great. They are a real honest and very straightforward company. They told us exactly what we needed. You could call and ask them their rates, I know they are reasonable. Everything turned out good and that is what really counts. They also do heating and air, but, we have not yet used them for that.
Description of Work: I had a leaky pipe in my shower so I hired Heidler to fix it for me.
