Description of Work: I contacted Heidler re a gas fireplace that would not work. Turned out the igniter had failed. They were diligent in finding a replacement part, despite the age of the unit. There were some problems with the install but they got the additional part they needed and were successful in getting the fireplace working.

Description of Work: Provided widened access to two bathrooms and installed a walk-in bathtub and a walk-in shower. This included new tile for bath, shower and both floors; new doors for the widened access; and repainting both baths. The work was well coordinated, professionally done and completed on time. Steve Heidler made a daily appearance to check progress and touch base with us with us. We are truly satisfied with the work.

Description of Work: We only got an estimate. It was sky high. We had no trouble finding someone to do the work for 60 percent of Heidler's estimate. Moreover the estimate would not have been the final price as it included as allowance for tile, that was only 1/3 of the actual cost of the tile that Heidler was supposed to match. You might think this was an excuse able mistake, but I gave them one of the tiles along with the manufacturer of the tile, so they knew or should have known, how much the tile would cost. In fact Heidler never checked on cost or availability. The tile had to be specially ordered and delivery took 3 weeks. I suspect Heidler would torn up the shower before it determined the cost much less availability (or, more accurately delayed availability of matching tile and then told us we would have to go without our shower for a month, I and pay more, if we insisted on matching tile. The goal being to force us to accept an tile that didn't match and would have made the shower look awful.

Description of Work: Our gas fireplace had not had maintenance for awhile. Heidler cleaned fireplace,glass screen and gas line to produce better flame. We were very happy with service. He explained everything as he proceeded, and made sure we understood everything. Very thorough. Would call upon them again.

Description of Work: I needed to have my two gas fireplaces looked at as they would not light. I contacted Heidler because they were listed as gas fireplace experts and were highly scored. They showed up on time proceeded to do a cleaning after which they looked into the problem. On one, they opined that the gas valve needed to be replaced and they would get me a quote and would come back for the repair. On the other, they would not do anything because we could not find any manufacture information. All during the service call, they were in constant touch with the office. |I had to follow up with them three times to get the information on the valve - $450 plus a service charge. I said no thank you. |I converted the unknown gas system back to wood burning and during the service to cap off the gas line, was informed that I had a partial blockage which was causing the problem. Of course my already low opinion of Heidler dropped even further. It appears to me they send out generalist who are of limited technical skill and lean on experts back in the office. Anything that does not fit a pre-determined service, is put off. I do not recommend them.

Description of Work: I was very happy with the service and the gentlemen that performed the services. I would recommend that you add 25% on the initial phone quoted. depending where you live and codes - you may need to have a drip plan installed, new valve, etc. If you add the 25% - you won't be surprised when you are told additional services are needed or suggested. |

Description of Work: A young man from Heidler came to my Dad's house in Annapolis and found the source of a water leak and fixed it.

Description of Work: The fill valve in my downstairs toilet broke today. When that happens, water starts shooting out of your toilet tank like a geyser. Luckily I was home and able to shut off the water and control the damage. The first plumbing company I called offered me an appointment the next day. I called Heidler and the very nice woman who answered the phone assured me that someone would be out today, though it might be after hours, which results in a surcharge As I was calling at 3pm, I was very appreciative that she could fit me in. I also appreciated how up front she was about costs. The plumber arrived within two hours and both he and the dispatcher called to let me know when he was on his way. The plumber was courteous and knowledgable and had the problem fixed in 25 minutes and he was also up front about costs. I will absolutely call heidler again.

Description of Work: The first floor bathroom sink was filled with back wash from the kitchen disposal. I knew that wasn't good. My husband, who is extremely handy, attempted to unblock the clog, but wasn't successful. The next step was to contact a plumber. That's when I called Heidler Plumbing. I called on a Monday and Tuesday at 8 a.m., "Chuck" showed up. He spent nearly two hours making absolutely positively sure the pipe was unclogged. He was professional, courteous, and so kind. The poor guy was soaking in sweat from the high temp and humidity, but never ever complained. (even though he had every right to!) Once all the work was done he even deducted some of the charges. I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend this company!

Description of Work: I’ve worked with them in the past. Most recently, they came out to repair a sink with a leaky drain.

Description of Work: The date is approximate and the amount is also-but we were told by another company that we needed a whole new gas fireplace set-up and they would have to take the whole apparatus apart-and it would ber very expensive-I want to say maybe-$800. I went ot Angies List , looking for other companieswho work on gas fireplaces (not as many as you think)-and they came out and said it just needed to be cleaned. They did a great job-and we will continue to use them.

Description of Work: The commode in our 1st floor powder room had backed up so I called Heidler, thinking that the sewer line was clogged. Josh, Heidler's plumber, arrived on time. He said that snaking out the sewer line would require removing the toilet and replacing the wax seal, a job cosing about $400. He said I didn't need to do that. To test the sewer line for blockage, he ran the sink faucets at full blas for several minutes, and saw no disturbance on the surface of the water in the commode bowl. This showed that there wasn't any backup in the sewer line. Further, we went outside to the cleanout opening in the sewrr line near the roadway shoulder. . He opened uo the cleanout and shined a flashlight down the tube. After I went back inside and flushed the toilet, he pointed out to me the water flowing smoothly out the sewer line No problems. He explained about the possibility that the sewer line is bowed, since it is 40 years old, and may have some deposits in the bow that slow down the dscharges rate of exiting. His advice was really helpful to me to understand what is happening if my toilets ever show signs of overflowing again.

Description of Work: They do good plumbing work at a reasonable price, but I was quoted an exorbitant amount for a bathroom remodel that would require no reconfiguration of the plumbling.
