Description of Work: James came to repair our dishwasher which no longer would start. It is a Whirlpool that is probably ten or more years old. James quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the parts. He said up front, I will need to diagnose the problem to see if it is worth fixing this machine. I believe we had to pay $125 and it was worth it given the cost of new dishwashers. James said our dishwasher is made better than current machines on the market which do not have a long life. We then showed him that we had a problem with our refrigerator door. It was not sealing properly. He immediately could see that the door hinge for the refrigerator was no longer working correctly. He had to order a new door hinge and came back within a week with the new hinge. I believe the cost was $150. James is a true professional and I have no hesitation to recommend him. He called ahead of time for the first visit to say he would be about fifteen minutes late-how many other contractors will do that? He was a true gentleman and extremely knowledgeable about both of our appliances.

Description of Work: Repaired dryer drum bearings and provided general service to Maytag dryer. Very personable, and well versed in his trade.

Description of Work: I had a washing machine fail, and I had called a couple of Angie's list appliance servicers in my area. J & M picked up on the first ring. I had done a lot of research on my product and issue online, so I had direction on what the Root cause was and what the corrective action would have to be. Speaking with J, it was obvious he knew the product type and RCA my issue. He was quite professional and forthright on letting me know the cost to fix could be as much as buying new. He spent over an hour talking to me, and guiding the best options for me at no charge. After our call, I did make a follow-up call with the mfg. and J was right on target on what the issue was and the cost. Since our discussion I did buy a new washer, and will use J & M for any future issues with him. He was so personable, patient, knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful.

Punctual, friendly and professional, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. $85 for just the service call seems a bit much in relation to other providers in the area, however, overall I am happy with the work performed as the machine is working fine now.

Description of Work: Just bought a townhouse and washer came with the unit. Unfortunately we wernt getting any cold water. James suggested a few things it might be over the phone and we thought it best we have him come out anyway. He was right and was just a simple fix of reversed hoses..!! Description of Work: Water was not draining in the sink in the 1st floor apartment. It turned out to be a problem with the Garbage Disposal. James from JM Appliance Service came to my house when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, fixed it in a timely manner, left a clean work area, and charged a fair price for the work and time involved. I highly recommend this company and will call them again.

Description of Work: Jason did the job for his brother James who was on vacation. He replaced two parts that i had purchased online from Sears for my refrigerator. James helped troubleshoot on the phone before I purchased the parts. The fridge seems fine now. Both guys were very nice and friendly. I would call them again.

Description of Work: Had to replace a main board in my LG refrigerator. Most of the cost was the cost of the part from LG. He was able to get me going right away until the new board came in which was great.

Description of Work: Returned my phone call promptly. Explained issue we were having with our washer. After a few questions, he was very honest that it may not be repairable and that we may be better replacing (very old). He detailed the cost of the service call and potential repairs. Very honest and did not try and charge us a service call for an unrepairable appliance.
