It went very well. Dan Beland is a personable, knowledgeable, professional. He showed up right on time. We talked for a few minutes to make sure we were on the same page. All questions were answered. He and his crew went to work. Their work was smooth, careful and quick. By early afternoon they were done. The fence was perfect. This guy knows how to build a fence and he is very fair with his pricing. I paid exactly what was quoted on the estimate. No surprises. I would recommend his service to any friend or family member any time. GREAT JOB!!

Fence Menders did a fantastic job. Can't say enough good things about the quality of the work. Dan listened to our needs (we have a couple of dogs that can be tough to contain!) and our yard is pretty rocky w/ a couple of good pitch drops. I needed them to keep the fencing very low and tight to the contours and it all came out great.

From start to finish a great job. Dan showed up on time for the initial estimate, got an estimate back to me on time, was easy to get a hold of to discuss his price, provided the addresses of some of his recent work, and most importantly showed up and installed a truly great looking custom wood fence when he said he would. We could not be happier with the job. In the week since it has been up we have had half a dozen neighbors ask for his contact number and we have had several people in cars also come by to get his info.

Dan was great! His price couldn't be beat, his professionalism was great, and the finished product looks amazing! His team worked quickly and they even cleaned up the dirt they removed to make holes for the fence posts. His estimate was right on, no hidden surprises. Dan was quick to answer my inquiry, and came to my home for an estimate within 24 hours. He was very friendly, courteous and helpful in helping me plan out the project. We scheduled the job to coordinate with other work that needed to be done first. When plans changed, Dan was very flexible in adjusting his schedule to make everything work out. It took less than two days to transform our yard, and we are thrilled. I would highly recommend Fence Menders to all who might inquire.

Tear down of old fence and install of new fence took 2 days and went just as Dan said it would. Fence and Gate held up fine throughout the Summer and Fall. Gate was not used during the Winter Months. When I tried to open the gate in early April the part attached to the top hinge came apart. Gave Dan a call and within 48hrs he was over fixing the problem. He showed me what the problem was (the manufacture did not use enough glue). He glued and bolted the gate back together. He let me know this is the first problem he has had with this type of vinyl gate. He also stated that if the same problem happens again he will replace the gate. It is obvious that Dan takes pride in his work and stands behind it. If there is any more issues I will update this review, but as of now I am happy with my purchase and would use Fence Menders again.

It was very good. We are very happy with it. They were good. They did a good job with the repairs. They were very good in coming out and giving us prices. While building the fence, they gave us regular estimates and gave us details about what would be done. For me, the price for big deal was high but I didn’t know nothing else was required. If I had more repairs to be done, then it would have been a very good deal. They called me back very promptly. They were very professional.

The only firms willing to do an unusual job that did not involve building a fence, but did require the specialty skills and tools that decent any fence builder has.

Dan was fantastic. He gave me a reasonable quote, crafted beautiful gates and installed them perfectly!

I would highly recommend these guys. I had a 25 year old cedar fence surrounding three sides of my property that was literally falling down in multiple locations. I asked four companies to provide bids -- one large well-known company and three smaller outfits. All four companies were responsive and provided bids promptly. Dan from Fence Benders listened carefully to our needs and offered multiple options from fix to replace. He answered all my follow up questions quickly and professionally. There was one company that gave an estimate slightly lower than Dan, one company slightly higher, and the big well-known fencing company came in a few thousand dollars higher on their bid (and also requested 50% payment up front). Dan requested 10% payment up front, which is far less than the cost of materials. I had a good gut feeling about Dan and I was right. He and his guys showed up exactly when he said they would, hauled away over 400' of dilapidated cedar fence, and replaced it with new cedar fence -- standard 6' height and an 80' length of 8' height. He and his team worked hard over five days and did a great job. The fence is perfectly plomb and straight. The land is not flat at all, and they did a great job with angling the fence sections to follow the land. Very satisfied customer in Belmont!

We were very happy with the entire experience. The service was excellent (prompt replies; VERY VERY friendly; they set accurate expectations of when the work would be accomplished; etc), the quality of the work was excellent (we actually had another contractor out for an unrelated project shortly after the fence went up, and that contractor went out of his way to point out how straight it was/high quality), and the price was very reasonable (definitely worth every penny). Seriously?hire these guys & you won?t be disappointed. If we had another fence to put up, we wouldn?t hesitate to ask them to come back to install it.

I first contacted Dan in July and he came out and gave me a quote for a white vinyl fence. I finally decided to do the fence in October but had changed my mind to go with a chain link fence instead. We rescued 2 large dogs and they needed room to run. I called Dan back and asked him to requote the job using chain link. He came right out the same day to discuss the different fence. I decided to go with a 5' instead. He wrote out a new quote only for me to change my mind once again to a 6' fence. He was great, didn't make me feel like I was bothering him at all. He said he just wanted me to be happy with the final job. He scheduled the job for the following week. He came exactly when he said he would and completed the job in 3 days. Every nite when they left the yard was picked up and cleaned. I am very happy with the workmanship and pleasantness of Dan and also his workers. I plan to use Dan again for other fencing in the future! Highly recommend Dan!

Prompt, showed up to do the work on schedule, finished timely, professional. I am very happy with the work.

They came out and repaired a section of a fence that was made by someone else; it was about 20ft of fencing. They were prompt and they returned my phone calls. it took them about an afternoon to do this. It was the owner and about 2-3 other guys doing this work. I also like that they did a good job and this was a much needed fencing work to be done.

We received a call back in a reasonable amount of time. We were told some one would be out to look at what work would need to be done. That was on Aug 21, 2013 and no one has ever shown up. Very disappointed as we are older folks and really wish we could find a contractor to help us get this fence repaired before winter arrives.

I am a landscape contractor, I use dan as a sub for all my fencing installations. He shows up when I need him too. His pricing is always fair and accurate. I never have to worry about the details because I know that dan will put in a quality fence the right way and make it fit the site however in needs to be.

Dan was very prompt at returning my initial call. He actually came out the very same day to give me an estimate. He even gave me a few options to help keep the costs down. We booked a date about 2 weeks out and Dan came right on time. He walked me through the layout before starting any work and was very open to tweaking. He and his workers even helped me move our swingset. Dan (and his workers) take pride in what they do and they're good at it. This makes all the difference. I recommend Dan to my in-laws who were also thoroughly impressed with his work and attention to detail. Please know that I am not easily impressed nor are my in-laws!

Dan was wonderful! He gave me an estimate on the work to be done when he said he would... asked pertinent questions. Consequently he suggested that I contact my lawn service to make sure the gates coming into my yard would be wide enough. (the lawn service was very impressed that anyone thought to ask them what their needs might be!). Dan also scheduled the time to put up the fence for AFTER the tree service that was already scheduled came and went ... All things I would not have given any thought to, but Dan did. He and his crew arrived and did the work when scheduled. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. In the end I have a beautiful fence that gives my two dogs a very safe place to play outside.

Due to the complexity and timing of the steel railing repair I needed, Dan referred me to someone he knew could do the best job. He asked the right questions, was clear, responsive and genuinely wanted to help. I will call him for my next repair.

Dan responded promptly to initial inquiry and provided the estimate with a day or so. Dan and his crew started work as soon as materials were available - about 10 days or so after the job was agreed to. The cedar section is 100 feet long up a gradual slope and looks fantastic. It includes a double gate that is not suited for heavy use but has held up well so far. Cedar caps were placed on all of the pressure treated posts. Some of the finish pieces/caps have split/cracked but that may be the nature of the beast. This is my first fence so I really don't know. A long run of black vinyl chain link was run through the woods behind my house (300'). Dan and his crew cleared the line and ran the fence right where I wanted it. It is straight, solid and is nearly invisible among the trees. I give credit to Dan and his crew for digging many of the post holes by hand as the were fairly close to my house and along a property line. A fair share of small boulders needed to be removed along the way. Finished job within 4 days including working through a day and a half of rain. Estimate (lowest of three companies bidding) and finished price were right on. Over all very happy with the experience and the results.

Fence Menders was the clearly the best choice for my fence project. First of all, I prefer any vendor where the person who provides the estimate is the person who is on site doing the work. My fence is 650 feet of cedar (round post and rail) will black welded mesh to keep the dog in, including pressure treated posts. It includes 2 single and 2 double gates. Dan (the salesman and installer), was prompt, friendly, and offered valuable suggestions and options. He explained the differences in quality and cost of various options. I got 3 other estimates on the exact same project. Fence Menders was the most cost effective (two of the other quotes were 2X the estimate I had from Fence Menders! ? for the exact same project. Dan was the first to quote the project, offered the lowest price, and was able to start the project before any of the other vendors. On top of that, he followed up first, and always returned calls. He completed the project within 5 consecutive working days, supplied me with spare rails, and mesh, and cleaned up after himself each day. His workers were also friendly and hard-working. I have already recommended him to a friend of mine who plans on hiring him.

Dan came an gave us an estimate to repair the rotting cedar posts in our fence, He said they were all in bad shape an needed to be replaced. It took a while for the crew to set a time. But, once they did, they showed up on time and on day they said they would. The crrew worked steadily and finished by the end of the day. The crew had to be asked repeatidly to clean up large piles of dirt and rocks that they left around the site. They left bricks that they dislodged all around the site. I had to blow the area myself with an air blower, it was a mess. The posts they replaced do seem sturdy. It wasn't until the next day that my husband noticed that one of the posts had not been replaced. I wrote to Dan. He told me that he did the work that was in the estimate. Which I guess he did, but he did not tell me that he was going to change all the posts except one. I wrote him a note to tell him my displeasure in not being informed that he was not doing all the posts. Then I tried to get Dan and his crew to come back and replace the last post but in spite of many emails, texts and phone messages, he has chosen not to respond in any way.
