Fence Menders

I paid close to $6,000 4 years ago and 2 years ago 1 of the posts was wobbling. A very grumpy Dan said it was because I had a plant hanging from it!! BTW...I see that they give a 5% discount for seniors. I was 70 then and never got THAT! About 2 months ago, I noticed that 4 posts were like loose teeth and I was having trouble closing the 2 gates. 5 PHONE CALLS AND SEVERAL VOICE MAILS WERE NEVER RETURNED!!! I have since had someone else come and replace...all were rotted! The contractor said it was pretty shabby work as none of the posts were put in properly! I guess I will be replacing the rest down the road. Never expected this on a 4 year old fence! I'd avoid this company at all costs!

Dan was great work with. He came out and discussed my options and listened to my ideas of what I wanted. Together we came up with the best solution for my fencing needs. The build took two days and the end result is fantastic. We get compliments on the fence whenever we have guests over. I would have Dan and Fence Menders back in a heartbeat if I ever need another fence in the future.

I cannot say enouph about this company. I couldnt be happier with them from day one! After i hired them they came the next week amd finished the fence in 2 days. That included removal of an old stockade fence. They were fast efficient and a great price. There should be no hesitation to hire them they are also great guys with excellent customer service!!!

They worked for two days removed the old chain link fence and put up the new aluminum fence. Upon leaving the first afternoon they left the pool on one side with no fence for protection and no gate. My husband & daughter had to zip tie the panels around that area and also the gate for protection. I gave them a check when they left the second day. We have since noticed that one of the panels has two places that are peeling. I contacted the owner and have not heard a word from him. He advised me that the fence was guaranteed and any problems would be taken care of when he left the second day. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone.

We got our fence built (poorly), very quickly! Paid a pretty penny. The work was guaranteed for one year, and we've been trying to get it fixed for the WHOLE YEAR! No response from him at all! Now the warranty period is over and we have a busted fence, gate, and fence posts. Thanks a lot!

He did a great job with a temporary and offered some ideas for a more permanent solution. Great explanation of the overall problem too.

At the time, we were happy. But as time went on (starting last year), the fence on one side of the yard started to lean over. We braced that area but this year, more of that fence started to be very loose also. We had a contractor come over to look at the fence to do repairs, and was told that the posts were rotten on that side and a few others elsewhere on the fence. I contacted Fence Menders to have them look it over and talk about the situation, but they are avoiding me, not replying to voice mails or texts.

Dan showed up on time and initially was great to interact with. Knowledgable, reasonable and solution driven. But that's where it stopped. No further communication regarding estimate or potential completion of work; no email no returned calls, no texts. I left message to let me know if he was not interested in the job. No response. I am very disappointed and actions are grossly contrary to advertisement claims on their website. To a large extent, good customer service especially responsiveness to inquiries or messages is what can set one good contractor apart from another. Fence menders appears not to really care about this aspect of their business.

Dan and his associate actually did a nice job replacing my old cedar fence around my pool with a combination vinyl and aluminum fencing last fall. Dan was very pleasant throughout the process. Unfortunately, when I opened my pool this spring, I discovered that they had punctured some underground pool return piping while installing one of the fence posts. (The pool was already closed last fall when they replaced the fence so there was no immediate water leak at the time of puncture.) I am disappointed because Dan would not respond to either email or phone call (with message) to discuss this matter.

Dan and his team did an excellent job on our fence!! Showed up when he said they would. Did a fantastic job keeping the area clean and the price was awesome compared to some of the other estimates we received. Dan is very professional and has very high standards. He build and installed a lovely new lattice topped fence for my yard as well as a smaller fence by my driveway. His prices and quality were both very good. I would use him again without hesitation and have recommended him to my neighbors.

Went very well. Installed black chain link with three gates around my entire back yard. Very happy with how it worked and Dan and team were very responsive along the way. I had asked for a number of different estimates (fence type) and he was accommodating. Showed up when he said he would and got the job done in a very timely manner. Highly recommend.

Initially called to get a ballpark estimate based upon my measurements. Shopped around a bit then came back to Fence Menders as I found their initial pricing to be fair. Made an appointment to get a firm estimate. The owner arrived early and measured while we walked the area. The "real" measurement was a bit over 300 feet. Was told I would have a firm estimate two days later. The estimate arrived as committed. No surprises. Signed the contract and sent my 10% deposit. Was initially told the work schedule was about 3 weeks out which was OK. About a week later received an email that they could start later that week. Over the course of two days the work was completed as committed. Some wood and brush was cleared without incurring any additional charges. The onsite work was completed very professionally! I would hire this company again!

Dan made measurements, gave us the lowest quote of all the bidders, made us a sample (since it was custom), and installed it in three days. I wish every project could be so straightforward. The results are fantastic. Our daughter and dog can safely play in the yard, and the fence is a ongoing source of compliments from friends and neighbors.
