Description of Work: Pushy and rude. Two different salespeople did almost exactly the same thing. As soon as I told them I wasn't buying TODAY they were both kind of rude. The first one, at an in-home estimate, quickly got up, said "Well it's clear we're not doing anything here", and left. The second, a phone call, after I told him I'd just had an in-home estimate, but was checking out other contractors as well, said sarcastically, "Yeah. Good luck finding a better deal." | |I'm planning on starting the remodel in the next month or two, so it's not like I was telling them this wouldn't be until 2018 or something. | |Although Newpro had a good price, their choices were very, very limited. Additionally, for a complete bathroom remodel, it's absurd to think that someone would only talk with a single contractor, and I didn't like being mocked for that. Yeah, I want a good price, but I also want a choice in materials, I want to feel confident in the contractor, I wanted advice about what makes sense, and I wanted more than the limited work they said they could do. |

The scheduler repeatedly asked about my marital status, and insisted that all decision makers must be present for the sales call, or no quote would be give. I found out why. Their scheme is to manipulate you into buying their ridiculously expensive windows on the spot. I found the sales pitch to be full of deception. For example, the salesman told me that the special price he gave (hugely "discounted" from the completely absurd initial quote) would ONLY be good if I bought on the spot. Several days later, a second salesman offered me an even lower price. The first salesman said Newpro offered only one window model (a triple pane), the second salesman offered me a double pane for thousands less. They insist their product is superior to all others, but could provide no independent data to support that claim. Too many other deceptions to describe here. Be very careful if you allow this company into your home.

+ -1 moreNewpro is an interesting company. They insist on a hardsell sales call where they tell you that any windows NOT from them will fail in 5-10 years. Maybe this is true, maybe it isn't. Then they tell you the price. We signed the contract, and then changed our minds the next day and cancelled. They came back for a smaller sales call and reduced their prices more. We asked for rush install, which was still a month away. When the deadlines approached, they still hadn't called. We called them and they said the windows were ready, but they still had 2 days to contact us according to the contract. The install was quick and painless, although they delivered the wrong glass. They have 50 years of replacement glass service which they are using to fix the mistake. The new windows are very quiet and warm, and worth it.
Description of Work: Replaced 4 windows -- 3 double hung windows, and one small hopper window.

NOT ONLY THAT, THEY CALLED ME THE FOLLOWING DAY TO MAKE SURE THAT MY HUSBAND WOULD BE HOME, AND THAT THE SALES REP WOULD BE MEETING WITH US BOTH, NOT MYSELF ALONE. THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME A BALLPARK RANGE OVER THE PHONE, SO THEY WASTED EVERYONE'S TIME BY HAVING THE SALES REP. COME TO MY HOUSE TO TELL ME THE WINDOWS WERE $1000 EACH BECAUSE THEY ARE "TOP OF THE LINE". HE TOLD ME TO TELL THE OFFICE THAT HE COULDN'T MAKE A PRESENTATION BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WASN'T HOME. IN THE END, THE REP. WAS SOMEWHAT HELPFUL IN IDENTIFYING THE TYPE OF WINDOW THAT I DO WANT, AND DIRECTED ME TO A VENDOR IN MY PRICE RANGE.

ONE MIGHT THINK A COMPANY FIELDING AN ENQUIRY ABOUT REPLACEMENT WINDOWS MIGHT START OFF BY ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HOUSE OR THE WINDOWS. NOPE. THE FIRST QUESTION THEY ASKED ME WAS: "DO YOU HAVE A HUSBAND?".

I FOUND THAT POLICY COERCIVE, AND INAPPROPRIATE, SO I CANCELLED THE VISIT AND TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS THAT WAY. THEY WERE UN-YIELDING, AND WOULD NOT EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR THEIR POLICY, SO THAT WAS THE END OF THE INTERACTION.

THE SALES PERSON WAS AGGRESSIVE, UNPLEASANT, AND CLEARLY DISINTERESTED IN ANY OF MY QUESTIONS REGARDING SERVICE ON THE EXISTING WINDOWS. THE PRICE VERBALLY QUOTED PER WINDOW (BASEMENT HOPPER) WAS VERY HIGH ($1000/PER). WHILE A WRITTEN ESTIMATE WAS PROMISED, IT HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED. GIVEN THIS EXPERIENCE, I'M NOT VERY OPTIMISTIC ABOUT HOW MY CALLS FOR WARRANTY SERVICE ON THE EXISTING WINDOWS WILL GO, ALTHOUGH THE BBB REPORT ON THE COMPANY IS OKAY.
