We are very happy with the quality of the work and the end result. There was some high ladder work involved, too. Rick is pleasant and straightforward to work with, clearly communicating via phone and email. We were very comfortable having him in and around our home. Will use Rick's services again in the future for sure.
Description of Work: We live in house build in 1926. Four window sills were rotted out badly as were the case moldings on both sides. We also had several long (two story) trim boards and many smaller exterior trim boards/moldings. Rick removed all rotted wood/sills and replaced with composite/Azek so we would not have to worry about rot again. All this was done without the disruption of removing teh windows which would have added considerable cost, complexity and mess. In addition, one end of our front porch lacked molding and lattice between the porch deck and ground. Rick installed new PT lattice and composite board trim.

Everything went really smooth and Rick was great to work with. There were a few changes and pieces that required coordination that Rick worked with me on. Everything was done as quoted and did not over run on cost. I had several other contractors in to work with Rick including a fireplace installer, plumbing, and electricians and Rick helped coordinate everything.I would highly recommend Rick for any projects. The project was completed within 4 weeks which was exactly what he said for time frame.
Description of Work: Rick helped me remodel my Family Room. The room contained wood paneling, carpet and custom built in cabinets. The room was probably originally built in the 70s or early 80s. Rick demoed the whole space, insulated, and hung new walls and ceiling. A new french door was added and accommodation for a gas fireplace.

We are doing a minor kitchen renovation in advance of selling our house. The existing doorframes and trim were in poor shape. Rick removed those, and installed all new trim, and even exposed original trim that had been covered over. New baseboard and a plate rail were installed. A new Pex line run to our 2nd floor was enclosed/boxed in as well. Rick was great, again. We've worked with him several times and he does excellent work. The trim work especially is outstanding. We can't recommend him enough. Thanks Rick!!
Description of Work: Replaced all trim around doors and windows in our kitchen. Installed baseboard and plate rail in kitchen. Repaired old steam line holes in oak floors.

Rich was great. We had estimates from other contractors, who insisted that they could only do the work for twice the price and had to replace all the siding on the sunroom. Rich gave us a straightforward estimate, was responsive to changes in the scope of work, and was willing to rearrange his schedule depending on when our septic contractor was done. Once Rich started the work, he kept me up to date on the extent of the repairs needed, and the progress he was making throughout the day. Working by himself, he finished the majority of the work in one week, and he was moving three big windows back and forth. Rich was also willing to make realistic recommendations on other work that needed to be done (like replacing the windows themselves). I have never worked with a contractor who was so responsive and efficient in his work. I will definitely be using him in the future, and feel comfortable calling him with small repairs as well as larger projects. Thanks Rich!
Description of Work: Shortly after moving into our new house, we discovered rot in the window sills and studs and exterior sheeting in the sunroom. Rich took out the windows, pulled off the siding, replaced all the rotted materials, put the siding back on, and put the windows back in.

We've worked with Rick before when he reinforced our vintage garage and he did an outstanding job. This time we hired Rick to replace a number of windows. He came by several weeks prior to measure each window to order them. The transom and the storm window for our stained glass window went in very quickly. The basement windows required more attention. The replacement windows went in smoothly. The sills required cutting back the rotted wood and replacing it with mahogany. We are very happy with the results. Lastly he installed some aluminum siding where we had removed an old basement entrance against the side of the house. Above and beyond the excellent work Rick does, he's easy to get along with and a good guy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

Although we decided not to move forward with our kitchen remodel at this time, we worked with Rick and an architect/designer over several months developing plans. We needed to scale the project back from our original hopes/plans, and he modified his initial estimate TWICE for us without ever making us feel guilty for trying to scale back and stick to our budget (which, in hindsight, was probably too tight to be realistic). He is the MOST responsive contractor I have ever worked with - whenever I had a question, he always responded within 24 hours, and estimates were always provided within a week. He was extremely professional, and if we were just a little bit more financially prepared for the project, I would have hired him without a doubt. If and when we go forward with the kitchen remodel, he will be the guy we call. I would definitely recommend Rick Ward to friends and family without hesitation.
Description of Work: Came out to our house twice to develop estimates for a kitchen remodel. Was in contact via phone, email and text frequently and as needed.

We unconditionally recommend Rick. He was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Rick was the general contractor and lead carpenter on our two car garage additions. The addition included a mud room, in-door spa room, utility rooms, and great room over all of it. Rick was punctual and took control of the subcontractor to make certain the entire project went smoothly. Part of the addition included alteration of an existing roof and replacement of skylights over our kitchen. Rick was particular careful in protecting our interior and was respectful of our "clean space". The project went as planned and there was never a time when I questioned Rick's ability or trustworthiness. He is true to his work and his work shows it. We have loved our addition for three years now and have not had any significant structural concerns. Rick's craftsmanship and materials choice paid off.

Very, very well. Rick's size up of the job was correct. A 55 year old tract ranch can provide its own quirks to deal with. The ceilings had a slight bow to them, this involved some very precise and delicate cuts to come out perfect, they did.Rick worked very well with the plumbers to co ordinate efficient scheduling. We could not have been happier with the finished product and the entire process. We recommend him highly for his very professional, precise work and will use his services in the future. The kitchen came out very, very well and we enjoy it every day thanks to Ricks advice, skill and ability.
Description of Work: Guided us through and installed an entire new kitchen in our home. This included installing an 8' Anderson window with casement windows at each end. Also re-siding the entire exterior wall where the window was located. We purchased expensive cabinetry and Rick helped us through the process. All new plumbing was needed (involving concrete sawing-a slab foundation).
