Description of Work: Lenny showed up for an estimate on time. He was very pleasant. The estimate was reasonable .I did not use him for the project , however, I would consider using him for future projects

 + -1 moreLEN CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE (HE HAD DONE A NEIGHBORS DECK THE YEAR BEFORE.) HE ARRIVED WITH A NICE PHOTO ALBUM OF HIS PREVIOUS WORK. HE STARTED RIGHT AWAY AND SHOWED UP EVERY DAY, EVEN THRU A BAD HEATWAVE. THE DECK TOOK 2, MAYBE 3 WEEKS. WE WERE HELD UP A BIT WAITING FOR SOME OF THE STOCK TO BE DELIVERED. HE WAS ABLE TO ROLL RIGHT ALONG WITH CHANGES IN THE PLAN AND WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS IDEAS, ETC. HE INFLUENCED MY CHOICE OF COMPOSITE DECKING, AND IT REALLY IS GREAT LOOKING. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. A PROFESSIONAL CLEAN LOOK ESPECIALLY WITH THE WHITE PVC RAIL SYSTEM AND THE GREY DECKING. I'M SO GLAD I DIDN'T GO WITH PRESSURE TREATED. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH HIS WORK AND AM ALREADY DREAMING UP NEW PROJECTS FOR HIM TO COMPLETE. HE IS PLEASANT AND FRIENDLY AND HAS A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR, WHICH IS A BIG HELP WHEN DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE LOTS OF IDEAS (LIKE ME.) I WISH YOU COULD SEE MY DECK. IT'S FABULOUS!
Description of Work: LEN BUILT US A 20 X 30 DECK. WE USED PRESSURE TREATED 2 X 10 FOR MAIN STRUCTURE, AND COMPOSITE DECKING WITH PVC RAILS. DECK HAS A LOVELY SET-IN STAIR CASE WITH NICE WIDE STEPS. HE ALSO TOOK OUT AN EXISTING DOOR AND WINDOW AND INSTALLED AN ANDERSON FRENCHWOOD GLIDING DOOR FOR US. IN THE FUTURE WE MAY PUT A SCREEN PORCH ON PART OF THIS DECK, OR EVEN A SUN ROOM, HENCE THE EXTRA HEFTY FRAMEWORK.

 + -1 moreLENNY CALLED ME BACK 2 DAYS AFTER I LEFT A MESSAGE INQUIRING ABOUT CUSTOM-MADE BOOKSHELVES. HE SEEMED INTERESTED IN THE JOB AND WE SET A TIME FOR 9AM SUNDAY FOR HIM TO COME OUT AND GIVE AN ESTIMATE. AT 8:50AM ON SUNDAY HE CALLED TO CANCEL. WE THEN A TIME FOR THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY EVENING. AGAIN - HE LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY MACHINE CANCELLING. GRANTED, THE WEATHER THAT NIGHT WAS HORRIBLE BUT HIS MESSAGE WAS CURT AND JUST SAID THERE WAS NO WAY HE COULD COME AND ''IT WOULD HAVE TO BE RESCHEDULED.'' HE HAS NEVER CALLED BACK. I FOUND HIM COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE AND AM GLAD THAT I DIDN'T END UP HIRING HIM FOR WORK THAT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE TURNED INTO A FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.

 + -1 moreLENNIE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB; HE WAS RESPONSIVE TO CHANGES, EVEN THOSE WHICH THREW OFF HIS PLANNED SCHEDULE. HE JUST CHANGED THE ORDER OF WHICH WORK HE WOULD DO NEXT. (WE HAD TO WAIT TO HAVE A HEATING VENT REPLACED.) HIS PRICE WAS QUITE REASONABLE. HE WAS VERY RELIABLE, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO FRIENDS IN A MINUTE.
Description of Work: 1. REMODELING OF BASEMENT IN A FIFTIES RANCH HOUSE TO MAKE IT MORE USABLE: BUILT BOOKSHELVES AND STORAGE CABINETS IN MAIN AREA, REPLACED A BAR WITH A NEW WALK-IN CLOSET, UPGRADED FOUR EXISTING CLOSETS IN THE STORAGE AREA TO INCLUDE ONE CEDAR CLOSET, A KITCHEN PANTRY TYPE CLOSET AND TWO STORAGE CLOSETS. HE ALSO ADDED A SMALL CLOSET UNDER THE STAIRS. 2. INSTALLED A NEW DOOR ON THE LIVING AREA LEVEL, AND CUT DOWN ANOTHER DOOR THAT WAS SCRAPING THE FLOOR. 3. INSTALLED A PULL DOWN STAIRCASE IN THE GARAGE TO ACCESS THE ATTIC OVER THE LIVING SPACE.

THEY WERE ON TIME, VERY PLEASANT AND TOOK PRIDE IN THE WORK THAT THEY DID, KEEPING US UP TO DATE ON THE PROGRESS OF THE WORK. BASED ON OTHER PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE HAD DONE RECENTLY, THIS PROJECT WAS COMPETITIVELY PRICED. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE COMPLETED JOB AND WILL BE HIRING THEM FOR FUTURE PROJECTS.
Description of Work: HOURIHANE CARPENTRY REPLACED AND REPAIRED EXTERIOR WINDOW TRIM AND SILLS ON A VICTORIAN HOUSE. HE HAD TO RECREATE THE EXTERIOR WINDOW MOLDING OF ALMOST 30 WINDOWS. THE MOLDINGS WERE PANELS THAT HAD RAISED MOLDING WITH A DECORATIVE MEDALLION. THEY WERE INSTALLED PRIMED AND PAINTED.
