Excellent work, great price. Porch looks really nice!

Lenny replaced an old porch for us and was able to refit and refinish some 120 year old railings (that had been saved from the house and stored in our barn for years) for use on the porch. It is absolutely gorgeous. We are already discussing our next project. I highly recommend Hourihane Carpentry.

I couldn't be happier with the work that Lenny and Steve did on my kitchen! They did a full remodeling, putting in new cabinets, counters and backsplash. They also did some very creative woodwork, enclosing my washer-dryer in a cabinet that matches the kitchen cabinets. They were very flexible with respect to timing and were able to get the bulk of the construction done while I was out of town, which I greatly appreciated. The finished product is BEAUTIFUL! And the price was absolutely reasonable. Can't recommend Hourihane Carpentry highly enough!

This was actually the second time we've used Lenny and Hourihane Carpentry. We've been very happy with the quality of work and very happy with our interactions with Lenny. His communication has been very proactive and clearly lets us know when he will be at the house, or at another job for any given day. Lenny also was a helpful resource in selecting some specifics like finish materials and fixtures. On days when additional crew were at the house, they were always friendly and professional. The scope of work for this project included the demolition and removal of an old deck and steps for the existing rear and front doors. The rear and front doors were relocated and old openings were re-framed and enclosed. Above the front door, roof patching was required and appears nearly seamless with the existing roof. New exterior doors were installed and an old bay window was removed and a regular, double-hung, window was installed. We will continue to use Hourihane Carpentry in the future.

Lenny and his crew did amazing work on a very extensive renovation at our house. I would definitely hire them again. The quality of the work was excellent, and the price was very fair. They were very responsive to our needs and were always working efficiently. Highly recommended.

Lennie and his team did an excellent job renovating our attic. The final result is better than we could have hoped for - the pictures speak for themselves (last pic is what it looked like before). Throughout the process Lennie was open and responsive, and was happy to make alterations to the plan where necessary. He checked in with me regularly to see if I was happy with everything, and whether I had any concerns. I highly recommend Lennie to anyone, and will be using him for future projects.

Lenny and his team did a really great job. Lenny responded to my inquiry the next day and looked at the job. He listened to what I was thinking and provided suggestions with no pressure. We scheduled the job and Lenny was there on the start date. Their work is quality and the deck looks great. I will definitely work with Lenny again.

Lenny and his nephew are a great team! They arrived promptly at 8 am every morning and came even earlier one morning to talk to my husband before he had to catch his train. They listened to what we wanted and were very flexible when we changed our minds about a couple of things. They take care to finish the job to your expectations and are very reasonably priced! And they are very nice and respectful, very trustworthy! Will hire them again when the need arises.

Lenny and his associate Steven do a great job. I have had them work on 4 properties of mine in the Boston area and it seems like there is nothing they can't do, and at a very affordable price. Some of the projects they have done for me include: Replacing windows Build new walls to subdivide spaces, move bedrooms/bathrooms Build a 3 story deck Rebuild a wrap around front porch Install cabinetry Install tiles in bathrooms These gentlemen are reliable, communicative, and clean up. I will continue to hire for all of my projects.

Lenny is a trustworthy professional. I had other contractors bid on the job that were intent on talking in me into costly extras. Lenny listened to exactly what I wanted and provided a fair estimate for the work. When it came time for the work to be done I was very pleased at Lenny's punctuality. He does what he says he will and when he says he will. He's an exceptionally skilled carpenter. He also has a good team of subs working for him. All were professionals and the type of people I was not concerned with leaving in my home when we were away. A couple of my requirements didn't make it into the original statement of work, but we easily worked that out. I would recommend a new customer be careful in getting everything they are looking for - the more detail the better - in the statement of work. That should probably go without saying. The job I had was a bit complex with some requirement changes from me as we got further along. The finished basement included a new staircase, TV room, and separate room with a bar. Lenny was good at asking the right questions at the right time throughout the job. He helped me think through some of the topics (building the bar and custom shelves etc.) and arrive at exactly what I wanted. They also cleaned up any debris that were left behind. Lenny will be top of mind when it is some for similar projects in the future.

My basement stairs were falling apart and the space was pretty tricky but Hourihane Carpentry did a great job at building a very sturdy replacement. They showed up on time got the job done, and cleaned up before leaving. What more could you ask for? I plan on hiring them again.

I had Hourihane carpentry completely remodel my front porch area. Lenny, came out to look at the project and gave me an estimate promptly along with a few other ideas for the space. Lenny, and his partner Johnny, began the work as scheduled. They arrived everyday on time and made sure everything was neat and tidy before they left each day. The two of them took my run down three season porch and turned it into a room I look forward to using all year round. I regret not taken 'before' pictures of the space to post as well. With the room they gutted the existing area and remodeled it from top to bottom.. Fully insulated, 7 new Anderson Windows, pergo flooring (which they had to level the space prior) and also raised the ceiling with exposed beams. The room came out perfect! Can't say enough good things about this company. They were very friendly, professional and available to answer any of my questions. I will highly recommend these guys for any remodeling projects. I will certainly be using them again in the future.

We live in a historic district. Lenny created a porch that was an exact replica of the original despite the fact that original wood/dimensions were not available. The historic district was happy with what he created. Lenny is a terrific carpenter and a creative thinker who can solve problems so that you get what you asked for. Lenny and his crew are excellent...Lenny is a creative thinker in his ability to replicate 1885 materials with either modern dimensional lumber or milling wood to fit the needs of the job.

I liked the photos I saw of the porches Mr. Hourihane had done and wanted to get him to take a look at mine. I left 2 messages a few days apart saying I had a porch I needed his help with and got no response. After getting no response I tried email. After the first email he replied saying he would call that night but never called. I sent another email asking if he could just let me know if he was too busy or just not interested and got no reply. I tried again and this time he finally said he was not interested because I lived too far away even though Im in Boston(Allston) and he is in Weymouth. I have no problem if he doesn't want to work in Boston but that could have been established with a 2 minute phone call if he had any respect for the customers looking for his services.

Lenny's work ethic and attention to detail are great. He really aims to please his customers, and we were very pleased with the outcome of the project. It's been a couple years since the project and have enjoyed porch many times, and look forward to spending many evenings out there again when spring returns!

Lenny Hourihane is a very skilled carpenter, and he made the process of turning our bare basement into the most beautiful room in the house easy and painless from beginning to end. For 25 years we dreamed of finishing the basement and Hourihane Carpentry finally made that dream a reality. Lenny is very easy to work with, he offers wonderful suggestions and his attention to detail and the pride he takes in his work are clearly evident in the finished product. He has high standards and he only works with professional plasterers, electricians and painters. Lenny, provided a quote for a platform off of the back of our house. The request was actually for a deck, however Lenny was aware of the local building code and we agreed that a deck was not legal. We were very appreciative of Lenny's guidance, but ultimately decided on a pager patio, which he also recommended. We have plans for additional carpentry and Lenny will be our first call.

Lenny is a tremendous carpenter. He is honest, sincere, extremely knowledgable, hard working. I initially called him to do a total rebuild, but he assured me the beams and joists are in fine condition allowing me to keep my porch intact, which is what I was hoping for. He was always communicating throughout the entire job to let me know exactly how things were going. His assistant Jake was also very professional. Very happy with the final results. So well built you can barely hear your own footsteps! I will definitely be using Hourihane Carpentry in the future. No need to look elsewhere. Highly recommended here.

Provider was nice, responded promptly and offered a good feed-back for my project. I decided to work with a different provider, but I will check on him again for my next projects.

The carpenter was excellent. He provided us with an estimate and told us exactly what needed to be done. He professionally answered all of our no matter how ridiculous they may have sounded. We did not end up having the work done because we sold the house but I'm sure his work would have been as awesome as he was to us.
