They sent over a guy who really tried to sell me on putting down a floor over the existing sub-floor. We booked the job and then the contractor that showed up told me he would not do it because the existing sub-floor was bumpy and not suitable. I called them to tell them I was not happy about the situation and they kept trying to insist, but I directly told them I was not happy and that I no longer wanted their services. Their quotes were really high and they tried to sell a very expensive system to keep the basement dry as well.

I would rate all parts of my experience with them as excellent. They were there on time and were very professional. They stuck to the amount of the estimate, when some additional work had to be done, they called me to let me know ahead of time and to get my approval. What surprised me most was how clean they left the work sight at the end of each day. The drain works great too. The work was done almost a year ago and we haven't had any problems with flooding since then (knock on wood).

It went very well. They arrived on time and were done in about four hours.

They did an excellent job, got everything done quickly and I'd recommend them to everyone!

The representative from Pioneer was great. He determined, that I didn't need an expensive system, because he thought the moisture in the basement was caused by condensation. I was very impressed that he did not try to sell me a solution, I did not need.

We were buying a house with known basement water problems, so we called in Pioneer for an assessment. The radio ads all say they have a ''variety'' of products available, but the rep zeroed in on one system and didn't want to think of anything else. He also made assumptions about the existing sump pump drainage, that's gotta be a dry well, when in fact it's a city-approved tie-in to the storm drain. He wanted to drain the sump into the back yard, where of course, it would just flow right back into the basement. When I wrote to Steve, regarding my dissatisfaction, his reply was ''(XXX) is one of my best guys'', basically blowing me off. Even if I ultimately decide to go with the kind of perimeter drain they recommended, some other company is getting the job.

Pioneer did a great job outlining my options and doing the work. It was a long wait - I booked the job with a deposit in May, and they couldn't fit me in until late July. Once they arrived, the 3 man crew was quick, clean, and respectful of the property. They also made sure the jobsite was swept and neat in between each workday. I am waiting for the next big rainstorm to see the results. I am also happy with the guarantee that is transferable to a new owner if I sell the house.

Very messy job, poor cleanup, outflow pipe placed very close to the house, instead of the middle of the yard, where it was requested to be; the battery backup wired incorrectly resulting in the house filling with poisonous gas resulting in fire department, police and highway department coming for an emergency, to remove battery and ventilate the house forcing me to leave.

OURS IS A FINISHED BASEMENT, SO IT IS REALLY HARD TO GET A LOOK AT THE WALLS/FOUNDATION. CRAIG WAS GREAT. HE LOOKED AT THE BASEMENT, LISTENED TO WHAT WE TOLD HIM ABOUT THE WATER WE NOTICED IN THE BASEMENT, AND WAS DISAPPOINTED WHEN WE DIDN'T KNOW THE HISTORY OF THE BASEMENT (WE ONLY MOVED IN 5 MONTHS AGO). HOWEVER, HE DID LOOK AROUND AND TOLD US TO REGRADE SOME OUTSIDE LANDSCAPING, AND THAT HE SUSPECTED WE WOULD NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM AGAIN. HE TOLD US IF WE DID IT WOULD BE EVIDENT AT SPRING THAW AND TO CALL HIM BACK THEN IF NECESSARY. REFRESHING NOT TO HAVE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PUSHED ON US IF NOT NEEDED. AND HE WAS GREAT WITH MY ALMOST 4 YEAR OLD WHO INSISTED ON BEING INCLUDED IN THE PROCEEDINGS. WILL DEFINITELY CALL THEM IF WORK DOES NEED TO BE DONE LATER ON.

THEY WERE EXCELLENT. THEY WERE PROMPT COURTEOUS AND RIGHT ON TARGET. THEY WERE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE ALSO WILLING TO RESCHEDULE DURING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY AND WERE WILLING TO ACCOMMODATE ME.

STEVE HAGUE FROM PIONEER WAS PUNCTUAL, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE SHARED A LOT OF EXPERTISE WITH ME, AND GAVE GOOD OBJECTIVE ADVICE--WITHOUT GIVING ME A HARD SELL FOR THINGS I DON'T NEED. FOR EXAMPLE, ONE OPTION THE COMPANY OFFERS IS A SUMP PUMP AND ''FRENCH DRAIN'' SYSTEM WHICH DRAINS THE WATER AND PUMPS IT AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. MR. HAGUE TOLD ME THAT THESE SYSTEMS ARE EXCELLENT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE A LOT OF WATER--LIKE AN INCH OR MORE IN BIG SECTIONS OF THE BASEMENT. BUT FOR MY PROBLEM, WHICH IS JUST A LITTLE DAMPNESS IN THE FLOOR, IT WOULD PROBABLY BE USELESS. WE ALSO DISCUSSED THE POSSIBILITY OF A COMMERCIAL-GRADE DEHUMIDIFIER WHICH THE COMPANY SELLS AND INSTALLS FOR AROUND $2000. THIS HUMIDIFIER WOULD HAVE TWICE THE DRYING POWER OF MY CURRENT MODEL FROM HOME DEPOT, IT WOULD ALSO FILTER DUST AND MOLD SPORES. I DECIDED FOR NOW TO KEEP MY CURRENT SYSTEM AND TRY TO RUN IT MORE CONSISTENTLY. IF I DO DECIDE TO BUY A MORE POWERFUL HUMIDIFIER, I WILL GET IT FROM PIONEER.
