Pioneer Basement

Outstanding! The work was completed in two days, with little mess or trouble. The quality of the work was exceptional.

My electricity in my house went out and the back up battery for sum pump wasn't working. I had called them with my emergency and they were not able to get out to see me. After I called the fire department, they showed up and their service man did not have the correct switch. They did come back to give me the right switch later on. I have had to talk to office personal to tell them my thoughts about their business. I expressed my concerns about them coming out to me quickly and how I wanted to make sure they were committed to work they were doing for me. After this conversation they have been very attentive and do everything that I ask them to do.

Overall the job was done very well. The owner was very personable and informative. My only complaint is that they should have put the pipping, for the drains, further away from the house; which would make it difficult to clean the drains. Subsequently, they came back and added to the length of the pcv drain pipe. It now drains about another 25 feet or so into the bushes at the edge of my yard out-of-site. As a result I have to give them an A.

It was very expensive, but they were excellent. With all this rain we had a dry basement. It was wonderful. Their support and everything has been great. Last year, even though we had sump pumps, we had ankle deep water for the spring. This year with all that snow we didn't have any water in our basement. It was nice and dry. I just called the 800 number, so I am not sure where they are located. It was quite the expense, but we have a dry basement as a result. It was expensive, but it works. We put it off for some time because of the price, but in the end we opted for the dry basement. We priced with some other companies and for the work we had done, it was the going rate. The work we had done wasn't cheap. For us personally, it was extremely expensive. As far as what other companies doing similar work were charging, I think it was pretty similar. We got a 10 percent discount which was similar to the Angie's List discount too. We got the discount by waiting and by not having it done when everybody was getting it done.

They didn't end up doing the work for me but refered me to a great company that did an amazing job.

Pioneer Basement is a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. They guarantee their work. They assess the job well. I have a french drain going into the sump pump hole, which was not big enough or very deep. They had to dig the hole deeper. They have a very professional plastic insert they use that is patented by them. They also have me a battery back-up along with the main pump. I really rely on my sump pump so it is important that it is a reliable pump that is worry-free. They provided everything I needed and it only took them 4 hours with 3 workers. They did a great job. For a few extra bucks I got real professionals. They explained it well in the estimate. I would recommend at least getting an estimate from Pioneer Basements. They did the job and did it well.

We signed the contract in June and the project began in July. They were very good.

They were knowledgeable and believed in logical thinking. They were polite and nice people. They seemed to be very efficient and didn?t charge me extra for the quote procedure. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

On aug 23 2010 we contacted pioneer basement about water proofing our basement. The agent was very knowable . He gave an estimate witch was a fair price.. The only problem was we had to wait until nov 12 to get the work done .. that?s how busy they are . On the morning of the 12th the work crew showed up and also the agent. The work crew was knew ther job . They started right away and never stopped working until lunch time and quitting time . It was to be a one day job but it took an extra half day to finish we are very satisfied with the work that was done and they left the basement cleaner then when they started the job

A quality control manager came, inspected the basement area in question and made recommendations including the installation of a sump pump. A week later a team was sent to perform the work. They were respectful of our space, non-intrusive, and professional, work was completed within a half-day. Once we discovered that the problem was not quite fixed we immediately contacted the office and explained our problem and were immediately connected to the owner. From that point forward he took control of the situation, came out right away, reinspected the situation and clearly illustrated what we needed to do to correct the problem. Shortly after that a new team came in and performed the additional work. Since then, no leaks, the basement is dry as a bone.

I was the only person in my area to survive the most recent flood without a flooded basement. They are very accommodating and helpful and they even clean up after themselves. I am very happy with them.

I am satisfied with the work, but there were a lot of small unnecessary glitches that I had to call them back out for. They were responsive to my calls though. I am happy with the work.

I scheduled a consult with a Pioneer rep, who came by and talked me through in detail what it would take to waterproof my basement - if fact we talked for an hour. But then he never followed up with an estimate, as I requested. He gave me a ballpark when we talked, which was high, but never sent me anything firm or in writing. I didn't pursue an estimate because I decided to try a solution a mason suggested that would keep water from getting into by basement instead of the one he proposed, which dealt with the water after it entered into the basement. While I'm confident this solution will work, if it doesn't I may follow up with a request for an estimate. They seem highly professional and experienced. I was surprised by the unresponsiveness with respect to an estimate.

My experience with Pioneer Basement went very well. The workers were courteous and nice. They were professional and did a good job. They came on time and cleaned up after themselves. I would use Pioneer Basement again should the need arise.

We had an excellent experience with the company. The salespeople were easy to work with and told us exactly what they would do and when. They are slightly expensive (what isn't?) but it was worth it. We had it done two years ago and since then we have finished our basement into a family room, and it has been pleasantly dry since the work was done. Our basement used to be very humid but now it is comfortable even on a hot humid day. The Santa Fe unit filters the air and drains into the perimeter channels. There was a slight powdery residue throughout the basement since they had to dig out the concrete basement floor but they cleaned up well overall. I have been very pleased with the result and have recommended the company to others.

Service rep arrived ahead of schedule one week later which was the earliest appointment I could get. He found two problems, clogged breather holes and mis-adjusted pump stands. The service rep who identified and resolved the cause of the problem was excellent. The service charge was $125. Following the service visit, I emailed Steve Andras, company president (whose email address I got at this site) to express my concerns about the entire experience. Much to my surprise, he responded very quickly and indicated that my $125 would be refunded and the next regular maintenance would be performed at no charge.

As of now, we are not planning to have this work done.

Pioneer Basement was exceptionally professional, from our first meeting with the estimator to having a company founder and owner stop by our house to personally troubleshoot a piece of equipment he had designed. We also appreciate their punctual, annual reminders to have the system cleaned and serviced. They're not the cheapest, but I appreciate knowing that the work was done well, my basement will be dry, and the company will be around to back up the work.

My experience with Pioneer from my first call has been excellent. Very professional. They made a date to come over when I was available, gave me some options on what could be done, explained everything to me and the work was scheduled within days. The men who did the work were on time, very good about telling me what they were going to do, anxious to be sure their work did not inconvenience me in any way--and it was done in one day. The basement was cleaner when they left then when they arrived--and they had to install a drain which required breaking up concrete and hauling it away. They were great!
