Dryer Vent Wizard of Middlesex-Essex

Sent request for services, via email from company's web sight, after finding them on Angie's List. One week later and still not response. No excuse for not contacting a potential customer.

Used an Angie's List coupon. The young man who came out was thorough and quick. Also very polite. Owner of the company was also polite over the telephone, returned my call promptly and was very helpful. Will hire them next year.

Excellent service! Super prompt and took care of everything the next day. We bought a house where prior owners probably had not cleaned the vent in a decade. The tech put in a new one and I feel so good about moving in and having a safe and effective solution. Very, very pleased.

Happy customer. This is a good company, and the second time I've used them over the past 4+(?) years for cleaning my 15' (+-) dryer vent. The technicians are professional, personable, and do a good job. I returned the survey card soliciting my opinion on the service, and did make a couple remarks on how it could be further improved. I was delighted to receive a response back 5 business days later (today) from Mr. Dickson, the owner, who connected with the technician for validation, and offered a discount on my next cleaning, if I'd have them back in the future. I am really picky, so this is actually a generous thing, to keep my business. Also, I answered "N/A" to the Angie's Price question because I don't know what the 'going rate' is for this kind of service. I only know that between the Homeowner's Insurance ads on TV re dryer lint fires and last week's news of Robert DeNiro's Manhattan apartment dryer vent fire, it's a good price for me!

Kevin called in advance of arriving and arrived on time. Very professional, personable, knowledgeable. Worked without complaint in a very hot attic. I'm no expert, but I believe he did a quality job. The only downside is that they are pricey. I have to admit, I don't see why dryer vent cleaning and replacement (in general) is so darn expensive. I had quotes for 10-15% less, but Dryer Vent Wizard seemed the most professional and knowledgable, so I went with them. I would use them again and recommend them.

They were very timely, going right to work and completing the work in less than an hour, despite having to enlarge the interior hole, climb through the attic crawl area, etc. They were knowledgeable and straightforward about both their diagnosis and fixing the problem. No pressure to go forward with their recommendations, but I'm glad I did. I have been so delighted with a dryer that finally dries clothes, that I am sorry I waited so long to have proper ducting put in. The dryer works properly for the first time since we moved in 7 years ago. I'm hopeful that regular cleaning by Dryer Wizard, along with the right system in the first place, will keep things running well! Thank you -

They did this work at a place that I rent out. I told them if any work was to be done then they should call me first. They did not call me to let me know that they had to do an installation. That was not very professional.

It went well. It was a tricky thing to do. I thought very highly of the guy that came over. They were a little less expensive than the others I investigated so I was very happy about it.

They did a great job. They were on time, polite, did exactly what he said he would, and followed though, it was a great experience. However they can not give you a price up front.

It pains me that I can't give this company an A, because in most respects they were outstanding. Our dryer had stopped working (clothes were always wet), and we suspected blocked ducts, as this had happened before. I called Dryer Vent Wizard and they got us an appointment the next day. I told the owner that the technician would probably need to go up on the roof to clear the vent and would need a ladder. The owner assured me this was standard practice and that the tech would have a ladder. When the tech, Matt, arrived, however, he said that they only go onto the roofs of ranch houses (ours is a colonial), that he didn't have a long enough ladder, and that insurance wouldn't cover his going up onto the roof. This is when a homeowner begins to get annoyed. However, in all other respects Matt was superb. He figured out the problem, went to Home Depot to get a new part for us, went into the attic to see if he could clear the vent from there, and did eventually go partway up on my husband's ladder to poke at the vent. He installed the new part so that our dryer is now up to code (we didn't know it wasn't!), removing a serious fire hazard, and apologized profusely for the fact that the dryer now takes up more space than it used to, because of the new part installed behind it. I paid him the full amount; an hour or so later he called me from the road and told me he had inadvertently overcharged me and my refund check was in the mail. I got it the next day, along with a long, detailed letter from the owner explaining their ladder policy. This is really remarkable customer service. My only gripe is that I was very clear about the need to go up on the roof, I was assured it would happen, and then found it wouldn't. Aside from this communications glitch, though, I'd recommend them highly.

Jeff came on time (within the given time window). He was polite all the time. He explained to me all the procedures that were involved in replacing my dryer vent. All the works were done in approximately two hours. Price seems reasonable. The works were done professionally.

I got a coupon from Angie's list for dryer vent cleaning and 10 point inspection for $149. When the technician got here, he immediately told me that he could not do the cleaning because I had a foil vent. I was a little upset because that was never in the offer and he acted like I should know this becasue it is a building code issue in MA. We did agree that I would have them replace my dryer vent for an additional $192. I knew it needed to be done and they did offer lifetime warranty of the parts and labor. They need to do better job at informing the public about what a foil line is and that they can not clean them.

Our carbon monoxide alarm was activated several times and we concluded it was the exhaust from the gas dryer. We called Dryer Vent Wizzard and they were able to squeeze us in the next morning. Technician did an excellent job. He cleaned my dryer, cleaned the exhaust duct, re-attached the duct to my wall to better support the duct line, replaced the exhaust exit with a moveable flap that opens when the dryer is on, and produced a report showing the air speed going through the duct line before and after the cleaning. I highly recommend them.

I recently moved into a new house and wanted to have the dryer vent inspected and cleaned. I had braced myself for a large bill as I thought the vent was long and complicated. The service man who came out was punctual and professional. He did a thorough examination, explained what he was doing, and told me the vents did not need to be cleaned. There was a minimun charge which was well worth the peace of mind!

Excellent service. Very professional...explained everything in detail and provided exact cost before work was begun. I highly recommend this company and will be having them back yearly to clean the dryer duct.

Kevin from Dryer Vent Wizard called when he was about 20 minutes away and even got here a little early. He inspected the dryer venting; my dryer is in the front of the house but vents out the back of the house, so the venting runs from the front to the back of the house. He taped all the joints, replaced the outside vent and cleaned the vent system and dryer. My dryer is working better at drying clothes and I feel safer having cleaned dryer vents. This is something I will plan to do every couple years. Great experience with Dryer Vent Wizard!

They estimated the cost of the job would be $100.00. They increased it consistently, because the way their price structure worked is if they do something extra their were additional charges. They do their charging Ala carte'. They left a mess. They did a poor job cleaning up. They charged me four times what they were supposed to charge me.

They came out and wanted to install 4 inch hard tube system from my dryer to the outside of my home for $720. I asked if I had something wrong with my current system. He said no, that 90% of homes have this system. I did not want to pay to have a new one installed when my current system in working perfectly.

The experience was very pleasant. They were very helpful. We have an unusual design and they suggested ways to improve it. It was a positive experience but they were expensive.

I was pretty pleased with the price. They were excellent specialists and were very honest. They told us what we might not need to do and he did an excellent, thorough job.
