Mold Doctors

Description of Work: I used them for the mold test and the man who came out was very pleasant and professional. He took the time to explain what was going on and was quick to email me with options and is being very patient while we get things ready for future plans.

Description of Work: Answered my accepting Angie's List offer of inspection within a day or two and arranged a date to come out within the week. Inspector was very thorough and confirmed that mold problem was only in basement. He emailed report and proposal within a few days. I accepted proposal by email and scheduler called to offer me an additional discount if work could be scheduled and completed by year end. My son and his fiancée were visiting for Xmas so they helped my husband and me empty the basement and protect contents with plastic sheeting. This was not required by Mold Doctors but was my choice to be sure the whole space and everything in it were cleaned. The two men who came were professional and hard working. They kept us informed about what they were doing. My only comment is that I was not prepared before the project started that we would have to turn off heat for a few hours the second day when the chemicals were sprayed and then fogged in basement. We had to leave house because it irritated our eyes and caused nasal congestion. The smell dissipated within a day and we had no further problems. They removed all the insulation, and flimsy vapor barrier, cleaned, vacuumed, scrubbed air overnight, applied disinfectant and fumigated space and put down a heavier vapor barrier. The basement was left pristine and all trash was removed. We were very satisfied with our dealings with Mold Doctors and recommend them without hesitation. My peace of mind was restored! I was very concerned about what was going on with the humidity in the basement and the harm it was causing.

Description of Work: The Mold Doctor crew removed insulation and treated the wood in the attic and kneewalls. That work went well except that the crew left kneewall doors untreated for reasons that weren't explained. It seemed strange since the work the techs did complete was much more difficult, and they did a terrific job. The company did a follow-on visit but the office gave the technician the wrong time, which resulted in slight inconvenience.

Description of Work: Remediation of mold 570sf crawlapace. Also laid a vapor barrier that I supplied @ no extra charge.

Description of Work: Mold remediation of attic. Their quote was lower than other contractors. They provided a 10 year certificate, showed up on time and left a clean attic. Overall, excellent results.

Description of Work: They removed black mold from my basement, found the reason the mold was appearing and helped us with the contractor who came in to correct that issue. We chose them because they have been used by places who have sensitive items such as Libraries so we knew they would be able to take care around a rather large collection of art pieces. | |Once the walls were put back together, they came back and sprayed the walls and fumigated the whole downstairs to make sure the mold did not come back. They made sure nothing was damaged by protecting the art with heavy plastic or removing them all together. Once the fumigation was over, they recommended a humidifier system to help the moisture stay at an even level which we installed as a separate cost. The last step was painting the effected walls with a paint permeated with a mold prohibitor. All these steps gave us the peace of mind that the collection would not be damaged in the future and the mold issue had been effectively put to rest. We highly, highly recommend them. The cost was on the high side but given what all they did, it was a fair price.

Description of Work: He checked the attic and basement for any signs of mold. I was a little disappointed that there was no testing done. He said he could not test the living area because the windows were open. No one informed me to keep the house closed for testing. He also said the attic couldn't be tested for some other reason that I don't understand. I was mostly concerned about the attic where I saw a green color. He said it would be black. But without any testing I have to go by observation. I'm not really sure if I would use the company again, but that was not a choice given on your survey. I would suggest that for you in future surveys.

Description of Work: They came out to the house to inspect for mold which turned out to be mice in the cellar insulation. They wanted to remove all the insulation, completely disinfect the ceiling walls and floor. I'm quite confident they would do a great job but the pricing was way over $ 3,000.00. Much more than I was willing to spend.

Description of Work: Rental property. Prompt response. Sprayed and taped the cellar. Tape not tight, seems like it could have been sealed a bit better. Tenants are satisfied but I will wait to see if mold occurs again.
