Description of Work: I used New England Handyman & Remodeling. Their project was to take out the walls around my third floor bathtub in my apartment. They too all that out they took out the drywall and replaced it. The problem was that the shower the soaked the ceramic tiles and did alot of damage on the second floor ceiling and they put in an access panel on the second floor ceiling. I had him repair a landing for an outdoor stairway.

Description of Work: I picked this company based on its positive score on Angie's list. This company initially responded to my request promptly. Mr. Richard Miller made an appointment to come out to give me an estimate. He arrived on time and was pleasant to deal with, although he kept making comments about how expensive all my projects would end up being. I did tell him I had a budget, as most people do, but never said how much. I don't know if he "assumed" it would be too expensive. In any event, he left after telling me he would get back to me with an itemized estimate. After waiting almost 2 weeks with no response, I e-mailed him requesting my estimate either by phone or e-mail. I am still waiting. If he had no desire to do my work then tell me up front, instead of making me waste my time and his. I am done chasing contractors who are that unprofessional. If he is blowing me off now what will happen if I hire him and then have an issue with the work done. I guess he doesn't need the work.

+ 0 moreI submitted a request for the project quote over the internet and was called the next business day. To save on the cost of the project, I pre-puchased the materials (weather seal caulking, column plinths, and the new wood columns). I pre-painted the wood columns to have everything ready to go before the scheduled day Eric Smith from CASE came to install them. I was very pleased that Eric was able to carefully remove the Victorian gingerbread brackets at the top of the posts and re-install them with the new columns so that I did not need to replace them. The handrails all were taken out and re-installed perfectly. Eric properly weather sealed the bottoms of the columns just as I detailed before he started. I was very pleased with his craftmanship and speed at which he accomplished the project.
Description of Work: Four porch columns were replaced as the original wood column bases were rotten from not being properly weather sealed. Eric Smith of CASE Handyman & Remodeling in West Springfield performed the carpentry services.

+ -1 moreCase Handyman is very professional and truly helpful from the initial call, to the close of the job, and beyond. Eric diagnosed and fixed a roof leak in our upper kitchen cabinet. My husband appreciated that Eric let us know what all of our options and their costs would be and feels that Eric did a great job both with communication and the actual work. He also let us know that if we experienced another leak what the cause probably would be. When we called later about this, they confirmed what they thought the cause of this other leak was, and as they didn't do that type of job, they referred a plumber and set up an initial appointment for us. All of this in a pleasant, timely, and professional manner. It was so nice calling back and having Denise remember who we were, what our issue had been, know right away why we were calling again (based on the other diagnosis), and make arrangements for a plumber to help us. Definitely go with this company.

+ 1 moreThey give a two year warranty with any of the work they do. This does not include any materials that they did not buy. For example, I bought light fixtures and they installed them. If anything goes wrong with the installation, they will come out and fix it. I just have to call if something goes wrong, which is nice to know. There was one workman primarily here. The owner also came out to check the work. They were prompt and did what they said they would. They finished all the work in two days, except the chimney repair because they had a separate contractor come out for that job. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They did a complete bathroom makeover for us. They also did some small things for us like fixing some windows, replacing a door on a bedroom, and repairs on our chimney.

+ 1 moreWe met with the Remodeling Consultant. He explained how the company worked, he was extremely professional & truly interested in what we wanted to have completed. He gave us a level of investment that we agreed upon. We met to choose our fixtures, etc. Demo & work started on time, in a very professional manner. Carpenters were very knowledgeable, polite,& cleaned up after themselves. They completed our project in a timely manner very close to stated in the contract. We were very pleased with the level of expertise & professionalism & will be calling Case for future projects.
Description of Work: Removed existing shower unit and shower doors & replaced with new shower & shower door, new faucets etc. installed.
