Very clear in pricing and work specs. Jane and Allen are precise in their communication and run a very tight ship. The crew takes pride in their work, showed up and left on time and more importantly, completed on time. The entire process from selection to completion was smooth and I did NOT feel the need to comparison shop. Jane, Allen and the install crew - thanks a lot.

Alan and Jane were very professional and helpful in finding the right products and what worked for us.They were very meticulous and detail-oriented. Even with a few snags, they fixed any problems that surfaced thoroughly without any additional cost.

They did a great job. The owner Allan is terrific. He has a team that does it, and at the end of the job, we had an issue where a couple of the doors weren't what we expected. Allan came out to inspect it and when we pointed out the problem, he agreed, and he made sure that we were completely satisfied before he left. I thought they were going to do both sides of the cabinets, but they only do the outside of the doors. The inside did not look completely touched up. Their price was a little bit more, and for the price, I would have expected that they would have done the inside as well. It wasn't a bad price, but I had a different expectation for that. They offer a unique service if you don't want to replace all your cabinets. It is a franchise, so they set their price.

From start to finish, we had a great experience working with Jane and Allen. Jane did the initial coordination to schedule the first consultation, and Allen showed up right on time for the appointment. We had just moved into the house and were looking to make some improvements to the kitchen, but weren't sure if what we wanted done would be feasible. Allen was able to assess the kitchen as it was and provided us with his recommendations for what he thought would best meet our needs -- those recommendations were spot on. And he gave us a very reasonable estimate, which we accepted, and got us on their schedule for the earliest opening, which was a few weeks out. They followed up to confirm the appointment, showed up on time, and all the work got done just as Allen said it would and right on schedule. Everything came out looking great, and everything was cleaned up nicely as well. We were extremely pleased with the work that Allen did for us, and would be happy to recommend him to anyone looking to have kitchen updates/renovations done. And we would definitely consider hiring Allen again for any future work we'd like to have done in our kitchen.

Allen and Jane were great to work with. When they first came, to see what we wanted done, we had a general idea.They worked with us until we were very happy with all our choices. We knew exactly what we were getting, the price and when they would start and finish (and that is what happened). The construction guys that came and did the work were very professional and very nice. They did a EXCELLENT job. The holidays are over now, as I write this, and I LOVE how my kitchen flows (and it's beautiful). Ten Stars!!! I wish there was a place on this review to put pictures. I know you would love my kitchen as much as I do!!

Allen and Jane were always on time and extremely responsive to all calls and e-mails. Their team was neat, quiet, polite, professional and did exactly what they said they were going to do and did it exactly on schedule. Each other person that the Cohen's referred us to for the floor, counter top and back splash were equally professional. It was amazing how quickly our kitchen turned from tacky 80's to absolutely glamorous. I have complete trust in the Allen and Jane and felt completely at ease with their competence and concern for the outcome of the job. I will (and have) refer anyone who asks to the Cohen's without reservation. They are a true find!

Allen and Jane are phenomenal! They were knowledgable, thorough and patient. They answered all of our questions and were able to walk us through the details of an extensive kitchen renovation that we self-contracted. They did not pressure us to make the sale, and when asked, gave us valuable feedback and helped us make smart choices. They showed up on time and completed the job on time. The quality of work was superior. They exceeded our expectations in every meaningful way. We are thrilled with the way our kitchen turned out.

I am so impressed with Allen Cohen. First, he had the knowledge of what was wrong with my cabinets. Then when he and his team came to do the work, it turned out to be a much harder job than either of us expected. Then, it got worse: one of his men accidentally cut into a gas line in the kitchen. But it could have happened to anyone, and what so impressed me about Allen and his company was how steadfast they were about getting the gasline repair done so they could finish their work. The true measure of a company and a craftsman is how they act when the situation goes badly; Kitchen Tune-Up of Newton came through with flying colors, and I'm grateful. I would recommend them to anyone ? and I would hire them again.

When I decided to update my kitchen cabinets I met with 3 vendors and Kitchen Tune-Up was head and shoulders above the rest. Allen and Jane guided me through the project, patiently answering my endless questions. They designed a kitchen that I love, on time and within budget. Everything about this project went well and the finished project is exactly what we hoped for. The Cohens and their workers arrived when they said they would and did exactly what they said they would. There was ALOT of communication between the Cohens and their workers and us at each stage. Top quality products and excellent workmanship. Most of the products/service was standard from the KTU menu (it's a nationwide franchise) but we did have a little custom work done in the form of open shelving. Allen Cohen understood perfectly what we wanted and came up with a great design. The entire project was relatively low stress and, in our view, a great value. I couldn't recommend KTU highly enough. If only they did baths!

Allen and Jane are unbelievable to work with - the project went without a hitch and we are happily enjoying our new kitchen. Their staff were courteous, friendly and I had no problem or question leaving them alone in my home. The project was finished within the 3 day promised time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone I know and already have.

Great job of communicating on a complex job with lots of moving parts. Refacing was a much more economical way to go than replacing the cabinets.

I first met Allen in October when he came over for a free consultation and quote. He was very helpful with suggestions and very professional! He and Jane returned a few weeks later when I decided to move forward and measured and prepared for the cabinet refacing. They were meticulous and all the while very pleasant. I liked a certain door style and they were not afraid to steer me in the direction of what is most popular and best for resale. True to their word, they were there on the day we agreed to do the work and 2 days later it was beautiful. They were very careful while working in my condo and were excellent about cleaning up and removing all the old material. They returned to review the job with me within 10 days of completion and we made some minor changes. I found their biggest goal was to ensure they had the happiest client. They were VERY customer focused and I loved it! Working with Kitchen Tune Up could not have been easier and I highly recommend them for any of your renovation needs.

James Allen came several times while I decided, changed my mind on color, wanted a sample. When I initially sent from wrong checkbook, they were most gracious and businesslike. Continuous support by email with quick response. Team of 3 guys came to do the work - over 3 day period. Great guys . Excellent work. These people are "straight-shooters" and smart. Great experience!

It was a good learning experience in terms of pricing and materials.

A few weeks ago we started to notice that our kitchen cabinets which are hung about 10 feet across our kitchen wall began to slope and sag in the middle. We could see that this caused the some of the cabinets to become warped and separate from each other. I looked on Angie's list and noticed Kitchen Tune-Up was local and got all A's so I gave them a call. I had a very nice conversation with Allen. He told me that they usually don't do small repair jobs but he said since we were near by he would take a look. He came by the house on a Saturday morning and immediately knew what the problem was. Apparently the previous owner of the house renovated the kitchen but whomever did the work did not install the cabinets correctly (using the wrong type of screws, not screwing into the studs, etc...). Anyway, Allen said he would make time between jobs to fix our cabinets. He was very reassuring and let us know that they could fix it good as new and it would only take two hours and cost about $300. We were very happy to hear that news because we thought it was going to be a much bigger and more expensive job. Allen came back three days later with another worker. They were very prompt and professional. They had to take down the cabinets and reinstall them properly with the appropriate type of screws, etc... They even took the time to repair the shelves that had become warped. These guys really knew what they were doing. It was a wonderful feeling that this job was in great hands. Two hours later they were finished just as Allen had said. And the cost was even a few dollars less than initially thought. We are grateful for the excellent job they did and now we can put all our heavy dishes back in the cabinets without worry that the whole thing will crash down :-). We would definitely recommend these guys to others and of course use them again if needed.

From start to finish I was pleased with how Jane and Allen handled everything. They kept me informed and made great suggestions. The installers were punctual neat and friendly. I love my new kitchen. I would recommend Kitchen Tune-up to anyone . My kitchen looks brand new.

The project went extremely well. Allen and Jane are both meticulous and detail-oriented. They made sure I understood what was going to happen, what materials will be used, and what prep work needs to be done. Allen also made practical advise about the type of materials to use on our rental unit. I knew what I wanted and I was glad that he had the material i was looking for. His workmanship is fine. Allen and Jane care about their customer's experience. I am very pleased with the work and my tenants were very happy too. They kept to a strict work schedule and were in and out within the time they said they had indicated. I highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of doing a kitchen update.

- It went well. They did what they said they would. They warned me before hand that certain stains would not disappear.They completed the job in one day instead of 2. They cleaned up well. They were pleasant and unobtrusive. One piece of cabinetry I might have handled differently had I realized just how much the light had altered the wood over the years and perhaps they might have for-seen that a bit better and urged me more strongly not to remove what was stuck on that area but honestly, this is more my fault than theirs so it is not fair to blame them. I would certainly use them again and would definitely recommend them Basically 3 guys worked a full day and got it all done

Love it. looks great. Had snaffu with width of added on cabinets, fixed next day. Also had problem with bathroom sink (wrong size but went to distributor in a snow storm and got new one. Installed same day. Very responsive to all issues. Quartz counter tops look great and seaming is excellent! Liked working with them. Would recommend.

The job went extremely well. The men were friendly and started the job on time every day. I do not do well expressing my opinions, but let me say that, without hesitation, I would definitely hire Kitchen Tune-Up again.

Allen and Jane are wonderful to work with. They were creative designers, explained our options clearly, offered fair prices, and were very flexible and accommodating. Their ability to provide resurfacing and new cabinetry (or a mix) is unique. They are very efficient and highly professional, and I highly recommend them.
