Instead of hiring a general contract for our kitchen, we selected Allen Cohen of Kitchen Tune-up because of price, quality & professionalism. Great decision. The cabinets are of excellent quality, the service was outstanding, he met every deadline, was enjoyable to work with, and cleaned-up every day. What was equally impressive was his willingness to go the extra mile throughout the process. He helped us coordinate the various subcontractors, gave us names of some subs who were equally outstanding, and if there was a problem, he fixed it immediately at no extra cost. When we made some last minute design changes, he went with the flow and was supportive. By working with Allen rather than going the general contractor route, we cut our costs in half and knew that we were using quality subcontractors, not the cheap ones some general contractors tend to use.

From start to finish, Allen has been a pleasure to work with. He gave us excellent advice and exhibited a real love for his work. Allen told us how long it would take from order date to work date, and he kept that promise. He has been easy to communicate with, especially via e-mail. He and his assistant Jerry arrived right on time, worked efficiently all day and tolerated our questions and nosing around. At the end of each day, our kitchen really was usable, and their tools were neatly put away. After completing the job, we discovered that there were a few small problems, and Allen is working to rectify those issues right now. As for the kitchen, it is absolutely gorgeous, and no one would ever know that the cabinets aren't all brand new. We would hire Allen and Kitchen Tune-Up again in an instant!

Our question was whether to replace or restore tired-looking and broken light cherry kitchen cabinets which were fundamentally in good condition. After speaking to Allen Cohen, we decided to use his kitchen restoration (not refinishing!) service. The cabinets are now beautiful and totally functional. Actually, better than new because the patina on 20-year-old cherry is gorgeous and can't be bought. Allen and his associate, Jerry, were professionals in every way: reliable, responsive, tidy, and always willing to do that little extra something. I highly recommend their services.

Allen was as responsive as mentioned in other reports, both by email and telephone. He was very helpful in terms of suggestions and had a lot of knowledge about cabinets and countertop. He understood exactly what needed to be done and company is capable of doing everything, which surprised me. I thought I would need to hire another contractor to take care of some cabinetry issues. Even though I'm unable to carry out cabinet refacing now, I have no doubt I'll use this company when I'm able. Allen also had many samples with him which was very helpful.

Allen provided a wealth of information that helped us choose from the many options he offered. He and his team were wonderful from start to finish. They kept to the budget, were on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. Best of all, we have a gorgeous new kitchen!

Excellent--provided convenient appointments, tactful advice, and reliable, high quality work. The final product is a pleasure to live with.

After Allen's 1st visit to my house I felt very comfortable giving him the job. He also willingly came to my house a 2nd time with a couple of samples to help me make a final decision. I chose the maple with pecan finish and the results are beautiful. All materials were exactly as ordered. (Be sure to ask for extra features you want, such as raised panels on drawers or arches on lower doors). Allen & his associates did an excellent job. They consulted with me when needed, as they worked and took care with every detail. Before finding Kitchen Tune-up, I received estimates from 2 national competitors, who quoted higher prices, then offered a discount if I signed an agreement immediately. In both cases, those discounted prices were still higher than Kitchen Tune-up's estimate, and there was no pressure from Allen to sign an agreement before I was ready. Allen & his associates were skilled, professional, and courteous, and the end result is beautiful. A very good experience.

Allen was great. Despite the fact that this was less than a $5K job, he acted like we were the only client he had. He responded to my calls/emails within hours--if not minutes--and really just seemed to treat the job like a personal responsibility that he wanted to make sure was done exactly right. Before he even began, I felt confident that he would do a good job and, in the end, his work bore that out. We are extremely happy with the cabinets--several people who've seen them said they can't believe they're just our old cabinets with a refacing.

ALLEN COHEN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EASY TO WORK WITH. HE WAS EXTREMELY THOROUGH IN DESCRIBING THE VARIOUS PRODUCTS AND OPTIONS, INCLUDING CALLING ME BACK TO RECOMMEND A DIFFERENT COUNTERTOP BASED ON OUR LIFESTYLE. HE WAS ABLE TO MAKE A PATCHED-TOGETHER CABINET OVER THE REFRIGERATOR LOOK LIKE NEW! THE COMPLETED JOB WAS JUST WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE THOROUGHNESS OF THE WORK, AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT ALLEN ARRIVED AND FINISHED WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD.
