Very pleased with the end result. Learned a lot about kitchen planning and materials and designs and styles available. Service providers were friendly and very helpful and answered a lot of questions (this would have been my first kitchen remodel). Multiple samples were provided and final design plan provided a few days later contained all the promised information. This was a great deal provided by Angie's list. The only disappointment in the experience was cost estimate provided. Would absolutely recommend, especially to first time renovators for help in the planning stage. Would have liked to use this vendor for the remodel but those services were beyond my available budget.

Overall the project went very smoothly. The painting company did a great job and we chose all the other materials (doors, drawers, counters and hardware) from Kitchen Tune Up. Even when there were a few snags along the way, Allen and Jane were extremely flexible in making sure we could completed the project. The cabinets look new and modern, and the countertop is beautiful. We are extremely happy with the outcome. Our kitchen looks new but wasn't ridiculously expensive, especially when compared to some other companies that reface. We also especially appreciated their method. Unlike every other company we met with, there was no sales pitch. They made it clear at the first meeting that it was just to talk about what we wanted and get a quote and not to make any decisions. There was no "sign now and I'll take 10% off". It was very professional and enjoyable.

Allen and Jane are both excellent. They come to the home to meet with you and discuss in depth what needs to be done. They bring all the samples of cabinets and counters with them, as well as hardware choices. Allen actually does the work and therefore was able to make some very good suggestions, to do things a little differently such as change the drawer layout which ended up not only being less expensive but gave me more drawer space. They also gave advice about the colors and styles and honestly gave their opinions-which I like, as it is hard for me to envision the finished product in my mind and I want people that do this work and see the finished products in various combinations all the time to tell me if I might choose a better style or color for my project . Allen also suggested installing the countertop material to the garden window base-I had some leaking problems in the past and the counter covered the discolored areas, and looks excellent plus makes the area usable as now it is waterproof. This is something I would never have thought to do myself.The refacing of cabinets and counter top installation both went smoothly. The men who work with Allen were professional and all very polite. They did the work, there was no goofing around. The finished product is awesome. It is better then I could have envisioned. I can't express how happy I am with my kitchen. The estimate given is the final price, there are no hidden costs. Allen doesn't do the plumbing or any electric work but you are told that at the first meeting with him that you will need to contact those contractors if the work involves any plumbing or electric.

A very good experience. At the estimate stage they came promptly, paid attention to what we wanted, and made helpful suggestions. As to installation, they came when they said they would, were efficient and neat in managing the work, and all in all did a very good job in a difficult kitchen (it's an old building and nothing is level). We were satisfied with the price but should note that we did not get any other bids on the work.

Their work and professionalism exceeded our expectations. They were great every step of the way from estimate to completion.

Jane and Allen refaced our kitchen cabinets in order to spruce them up for selling our home. They did a great job overall, the customer service and communication was top-notch, and the work was very satisfactory. Our kitchen looks brand new!

They were prompt and professional. They gave me the information I needed and brought the samples I requested. We ultimately decided not to move forward with the project.

Jane and Allen were willing to work with me on my kitchen plans. They always answered my questions promptly and were never aggressive in trying to land a sale. They stood by their work. In short Jane and Allen were professional and a pleasure to work with.

We were very happy with the service they provided. I liked being able to talk to them about theadvantages of going with this or that and what the price was. If he said something was going to be a certain price, it was true. He would call me if something wasn't going to be done on time, but for the most part it was done on time. They were very good with explaining consequences if you went with different options. I really felt that being friends with her, didn't make it harder to have a professional relationship with her.

Excellent. I have already recommended them to two friends. I wish all contractors were this reliable. So much good as been said of them already. Just give me a ditto!

I called Jane on December 30th and she and Allen came over that day to talk about their services and suggest options. They are a wonderful couple to work with - they arrive on time and are outstanding communicators. They provided an estimate with no pressure to decide right away. We considered some options and based on the reviews on Angie's List and our own experience with them decided to go for it. They provided very clear checklists of what we needed to do by when and what would be happening on which date. For example, cabinet work would be done one day, with countertop the next. All appointments were confirmed in advance via email and we never felt rushed or at a loss for attention. They are both former project managers so bring a mindset of clear communication and shared expectations to every job that we found refreshing and extraordinarily helpful. Allen and Jane's company only does counters and cabinets - they don't do electrical or plumbing so you need to have your own subcontractors for that. That said, they were willing to make recommendations for someone to do the tile floor and backsplash as well as a plumber. If they don't have someone that they recommend, they don't. The work itself was done exactly as described - very carefully with no mess whatsoever. After a couple of months there was a small issue that developed with a couple of the doors moving out of alignment and Allen came over that day to adjust them and show me what to do in the rare event it were to occur again. Our new kitchen is stunning and it all got done within a couple of weeks (Allen & Jane were done in two days), including new tile floor, countertop, cabinet doors, and new appliances. We are thrilled and found their price to be fair and service to be outstanding.

We wanted to update our kitchen areas and were new to the process. We didn't need to move our cabinets so we didn't need to completely replace. Jane and Alan came out to our home and explained the work that they do and showed us examples of the products. There was no pressure, they work within a budget, and are extremely thorough. You know exactly the cost, the work, and what is entailed from the beginning. Once work began, they kept us informed on progress, were on time, and respect on leaving a clean workspace. In the end, we were thrilled with the results. What's great about Kitchen Tune-ups is the range of work they can provide. Whether high end or a simple refresh, they can accommodate everyone. It was a pleasure working with them and recommend they highly.

I have built two houses from the ground up over the years and have therefore worked with many contractors and subs. Allen and Jane were an absolute pleasure to work with; their suggestions were very helpful and they are extremley responsive to questions and concerns. The restoration and replacement work is beautiful; much more than I really expected in terms of the overall outcomes in the appearance and functionality of my kitchen. Actually, the kitchen looks brand new. Allen and Jane were also completely forthright about what did not need to be replaced. They really are very special - the work was done on time and on budget. When I came home after they finished, I could not believe how well they had cleaned up all traces of their work leaving a really magnificent "kitchen tune-up". I think I am on to the bathrooms now. I would have them back in a heartbeat. Their work is just outstanding - these are professionals who care a great deal about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction.

Had used this service before to replace all hinges on cabinets and we discussed replacing these draws so they just had to come back and measure. They were installed about 3 weeks later. Very efficient in all respects.

Working with Allen and Jane was a great experience. The kitchen came out beautifully, and that has a lot to do with their design ideas and quality of the products and workmanship. Allen and Jane were professional , knowledgable, and have incredible attention to detail. They were very patient during the process -- helping us think through the design and coming out to the house several times as we debated cabinet colors and finishes. They followed-up on all our questions and worked seamlessly with our electrician and carpenter who was taking down a half-wall between the kitchen and dining room. They kept to the schedule and communicated very effectively throughout the process. Cabinet refacing and new installation took about 3 days and they cleaned up after themselves each day. We couldn't be happier with the process and the result! The kitchen is visually beautiful with alot more functionality and storage!

Kitchen Tune-up certainly lived up to their excellent reputation! Our new kitchen looks even better than we had hoped it would and we could not be more pleased. Allen and Jane were a pleasure to work with. They were always on time, kept the lines of communication open and did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. This was our first major renovation and they were able to walk us painlessly through the process. It was very helpful to have an in-home consultation at the beginning so we could look at samples and assess exactly how the materials would look in our house. We were especially impressed with the quality of the work and materials, and how thoroughly the team cleaned up at the end of each workday. We will work with Kitchen Tune-up again in the future without hesitation.

If home renovations can actually be fun, this would certainly qualify. The experience was pleasant, from my initial consult to the end result. I recommend Allen and Jane to anyone choosing to update a kitchen. I needed to bring in my own plumber to perform the disconnect and reconnect, as well as installation of the new insinkerator. The installers of the counters, arranged by Jane and Allen, were also great. I am very happy with my new kitchen.

Overall we were pleased with the floorplan and drawings as well as their recommendations. Allen and Jane told us they would work with us on the price, changing the countertop or cabinets to help fit our budget. The price didn't include plumbing, electrical work and the removal of a north facing window. We decided to delay a major kitchen upgrade and move forward with an installation of a second bathroom (a separate project).

Allen and Jane were professional and provided an accurate estimate during their initial visit. I was impressed by their low-key sales pitch as well as the high praise they had for competitors. After we had researched the space, Allen and Jane came back for a more formal proposal and contract. We ultimately selected them because they showed lots of examples of work in the field, gave us references who we checked, offered good materials, didn't speak negatively about others in their space, and gave us what we felt were honest answers and a low pressure sales process. Once we signed, Allen and Jane scheduled our work and did a great job communicating all of the steps in the process, they provided good check lists and helped us to manage the timeline on our end (we hired someone else for the backsplash). The work was completed on time and on-budget. Some materials didn't arrive and others came damaged -- Allen and his crew identified all of this for us and were responsive when we identified and requested a few touch ups. Working with Allen and Jane was a pleasure. So far we've been pleased with the results and would work with them again.

They just came and gave an estimate. They were very nice, but I just found someone that was much cheaper. The estimate was around $4000. They were very kind, very helpful and very flexible. They came right to the house. They were very informative. I picked them based on their location and based on the reviews on Angie's List. I would consider them for another quote.

If 100 is perfection, then I would give Allen and Jane's portion of our kitchen redo a 99. It's been almost nine months (sorry for the delay in writing the report, Allen and Jane!) since it was completed and we still love it. Allen and Jane worked closely with us on the design, which was key to our satisfaction. For example, we spent a lot of time on the size of the pantry, to make sure it would be functional without impinging on the entryway. It's perfect. They also gave us terrific suggestions about other new cabinets; how to handle an odd space above the sink; pulls and handles; and anything else we had questions about. The workmanship on the cabinetry is excellent. We had one glitch with a drawer but I was able to fix it myself and save Allen a trip (he sent a new mechanism in case I needed one). After nine months, you might expect some things to be not quite right, but everything still works like the day it was installed. Despite Allen's taking care that our wood floor was covered, it was scratched in a couple of places. I was skeptical that Allen could do much about it, but he did an amazing job of hiding the scratches -- better than the people who redid our floors when we moved in! There were a couple of glitches (hence the 99 instead of 100), one of which was caught in time. The island countertop was cut with a different corner radius on the overhanging side, and when it was installed, it was turned around 180 degrees. I happened to be there just after it happened and noticed it, and it was immediately corrected. The other was a notch put in a countertop so a cabinet door would swing freely; it was put in the wrong place, but fortunately the cabinet drawer was only very slight impeded. The work was done on schedule, and though there was a lot more dust than I expected, the cleanup was thorough. There were a few punch-list items, and Allen took care of all of them. I'd recommend Kitchen Tune-Up without reservation.

Since our cabinet bodies were in good shape, we opted for new doors and new draws to renovate our large but dated kitchen. Kitchen Tune-Up estimate was 20-30% lower than two other quotes. Friendly Jane and Allen worked with us and were helpful with suggestions. The entire process went very smoothly, including a detailed estimate and installation. Work was performed on schedule with superb quality. We are very pleased with outcome and we highly recommend Kitchen Tune-Up. Thank you Jane and Allen for a great job! (Jim and Norma, Needham)

They were done in two days. We had no complaints at all. They did a great job and they cleaned up. They were done quickly. The cabinets look awesome. We only checked a couple of other places and they were lower than some other companies.
