Dryer Vent Wizard of MA

I emailed Jerry here and he responded quickly. He tried calling me, and I was unavailable, after I had asked info about pricing in an email. He was good enough to leave the price range of his services on my answering service. This pleased me because I detest phone tag and because so many vendors won't commit to quoting prices in writing or on recordings. I eventually decided to conquer my fear of ladders and did the job myself. The vent is 16 feet off the ground. But, I would recommend Jerry based on his professionalism and responsiveness.

Jerry's son, Matt, came to do the work and was excellent. He was personable, professional, knowledgeable and did a great job. He evaluated other dryer vent issues I had with my house and provided a rough estimate of what it would entail and cost to perform the work. I would certainly use them again.

Jerry responded to my email query and was very courteous and patient talking to me on the phone explaining to me what would be done as well as an approximation. I was called when he was near to the house, so I would say he was prompt. I was told Paul, his partner, would be coming in and I found him to be very professional and explanatory while he was working Having not used too many outsides services because I always depended on family but as I and my husband are now of the elderly wisdom group, I joined Angie's List No waiting. I should have written this review months ago, but just forgot. That is probably because the dryer vent that was installed works so well that I don't even think about it! Jerry's assistant, whose name I don't remember, came so promptly that my new washer and dryer were still being set up. The vent installer was courteous, professional and extremely helpful, both to me and to the men who installed my washer and dryer. He explained the work he was doing and even closed up the hole where my former vent was located. He also gave me some help on how to use my new appliances. I had forgotten to mention when setting up the appointment that I had found the company on Angie's List and he kindly notified Jerry, who sent me a 5% percent rebate, which was appreciated. I thought the price was a little high considering it was just a dryer vent, but the experience and extra help were worth it. All in all, an excellent experience!

Jerry was great. He explained everything he did and why, gave information on how dryers work and important up-keep and safety tips. He clearly is an expert at this work and was glad to answer questions and explain things. We will definitely ask him back for other work that needs to be done.

We recently purchased a newly gutted and renovated house. Being first time homeowners we completely overlooked the fact that there was no dryer vent in the basement. We tried a few places and we were told that they couldnt drill a hole through stone foundation. When we called the Dryer vent wizard, they were very informative and explained the process. They made an appointment to visit within a few days and told us taht they would charge a nominal fee, then give us the estimate once they took a look around. That they almost always have all the tools necessary to complete the job on the spot and as long as we agreed to the estimate we were good to go. I really liked that they specialize in dryer vents and obviously take pride in their work. They were prompt, clean and even though the vent had to go upwards, it still looked fine. We would definitely go with them again, and will go to them when we need the vent cleaning in the future.

Fabulous. Jerry , the owner, spent a lot of time with me on the phone in advance, discussing the options, the potential issues, and was very honest and upfront about what might impact the cost. He said they weren't the cheapest, but their work was really good. I really appreciate when a contractor takes that kind of time to discuss a job with me and doesn't talk down to me about what's involved. Matt did the work. He called to let me know he was stuck in traffic and to tell me when he'd get here. He was apologetic about the delay (even though it was out of his control). I can't remember the last time a contractor actually apologized for being late. Matt was polite and friendly, and like Jerry, took the time to explain what he was doing, show me what was going on, and talk about potential options. Because my vent run is very long, we discussed that I might end up needing a booster fan, but when Matt tested the exhaust, he said it was fine and the booster was not needed. (A different contractor could have easily sold me a booster I didn't need, but Matt seemed genuinely pleased that I didn't have to spend the extra money). In the end the work was done beautifully, and when I had a concern about a small issue, Matt offered to come back and take care of it (even though it probably wasn't an issue). I think the job actually was a little more involved than we originally discussed, and they could have charged more - but they stuck with the phone estimate. I couldn't be more pleased with the work or the business. I don't know how much less someone else might have charged because the other highly rated contractor I called didn't return my call. It has become so rare to find people who have the integrity to do a job right and stick to their estimates. I strongly recommend Dryer Vent Wizard. If you need work done, these are the guys to go to.

They came on time. Mike was totally professional. He explained what he would do, the cost, etc. He did the work in a very reasonable amount of time. He even coiled our extension cord properly when he needed it to clean up the lint on the ground. The dryer now dries our clothes! Excellent work. Would definitely use them again.

The tech. called prior to arrival to give me his estimated time of arrival. He took a look at the existing venting situation, told me what he suggested, explained potential problems that he might run into by replacing the existing venting system and how those obstacles would need to be resolved. Fortunately things went better than anticipated and the work was done without having to create an additional hole in the finished ceiling of my basement. What he did find was an incredibly lint filled vent. The tech. completed the work in a totally professional manner, the job looks great, and I have confidence that the quality of the work is quite good.

Jerry, the owner, was great to work with from the beginning. Of all the inquiries and requests that we made for quotes, he was the quickest to respond, and he was very quick to respond to every question that came up prior to the actual cleaning day. They arrived on time and were very easy to work with. This was the first time that they had cleaned gas fireplace vents like ours and they were very proactive in determining the best way to approach the task. We will definitely have them come back in the future, and give them a high recommendation.

I scheduled an appointment for a typical dryer vent cleaning. The scheduling was easy and the technician arrived on time. After looking at the system briefly he said that they cannot clean flexible ducts. He provided a quote for replacing the flexible ducting with a rigid dryer vent duct, but due to the length it would have been quite costly so I declined to have it done. I was charged $49 as a "service charge". Although that is not particularly egregious, it would have saved everyone time if the representative had made me aware when I called that they cannot clean flexible ducting. That must be a common problem. I would not have chosen to take an afternoon off from work and pay $49 for someone to simply come over to give me an estimate for new rigid ductwork.

Job was scheduled and completed in one day and it took less than a week to schedule the appointment. Installer came to home, reviewed the existing setup, gave the estimate, got the go ahead and finished the job in about three hours. Work was very clean. Job was done as promised, in a minimum of time. We also experienced a dramatic improvement in dryer performance. It was one of those home improvements that I had been procrastinating about getting done. If I had realized how easy it would be I would have called them years ago. I highly recommend their service.

The owner was able to follow-up with a detailed email and list of services that I was able to submit to insurance for our homeowners claim. Making an appointment was easy, and they were able to come to the house within a few days of calling, and had a time slot that worked with my schedule. Were able to do all the work at the same time they first came out to the house, all supplies were in the van. The technician was very knowledgeable, worked quickly, and cleaned up afterwards.

I purchased a house and discovered that the dryer vent was clogged. As part of trying to clean it, the pipe fell off and wasn't reachable. I called Dryer vent wizard. They discovered that it had probably been leaking for a while. They also discovered that the vent went through a tiny attic space so it would be difficult fix the vent as currently routed. Due to roof lines, my situation was a bit more complicated then most. Anyway, after some discussion on placement, we settled on placement and Brendan went to work. He drilled various holes, installed a new vent and cleaned up. The work comes with a lifetime guarantee. He also suggested a maintenance schedule for the future. I appreciated that we worked together to determine placement.

Service technician arrived on schedule, evaluated the exiting dryer vent and made a recommendation with a cost estimate. The cost for the work seemed fair to me, and he competed the work promptly and as described.

Joy came during the allotted time I was given, put my mind at ease to say my vent was only 10 ft. long which I thought it was much long and would be troublesome for him. The entire job took about 20 minutes and he put my mind at ease. Great job!
