Quality workmanship was done quickly and in an overall helpful manner. I had also gotten a replacement garage door opener that they set up for me, and he even took the time to oil my garage door so that it wouldn't squeak when it raised up. They are a great company.

+ -1 moreWe had a great experience with Bonded Lock. I could not recommend them more highly. For both visits, Jim was right on time, and gave accurate estimates of the time and cost of each job. The fact that Jim made additional adjustments to the locks (including the lock's placement in the door), without charging us, showed me that he took a real pride in his work and liked seeing things done right. From my first call to Bonded Lock, to the completion of the second job, Jim and Gordon were professional and polite and a real pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: I called Gordon at Bonded Lock Service, to request that our three doors be set to one key. He asked a few questions to make sure it was possible and then scheduled a day the following week for someone to come out and do the work. Jim came out right on schedule and again, after making sure he knew exactly what I wanted (i.e. setting the three locks to a new key or setting them all to match an existing key, and explaining the cost of each option). He did the work promptly and professionally, even making additional adjustments to make the doors easier to lock. Jim mentioned a couple of other security measures we could take (including a deadbolt to one door) and said that if we decided to do them, he wouldn't charge the service-call fee, to come out again. After discussing it that evening with my husband, we decided to go ahead with the additional work, and scheduled Jim to come out the following week. He was true to his word and didn't charge us the service fee.

+ -1 moreThey were prompt and did a very careful job. We had previously thought that the closer was unfixable (the door would slam and never lock properly), but they did it. They also re-keyed all of our locks, without having to change too much of the hardware. Would definitely hire them again.

Description of Work: They replaced 7 locks, 4 deadbolts and 3 door knobs after keys were stolen during a purse snatching. Later they fixed an unrelated problem caused by a door frame warping slightly and getting out of alignment.

+ -1 moreOverall, excellent. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and did the job well. Gordon had clearly thought through the parts he supplied and what would last a long time, not break again, and look right for the door and house he knew which brands used plastic inside versus stamped or die cast metal. He also gives a great guarantee that includes coming back to fix it if anything breaks. Gordon even keyed the deadbolt to the front door key since I didn't think of it. He did make a minor error leaving a mark on the door but was very apologetic, offered 3 ways to repair it including coming back later if I changed my mind, took a discount, and clearly was horrified he had slipped. I would hire Gordon again in a moment. I have to reduce his quality rating slightly for the error but would have given him an excellent otherwise.
Description of Work: Replaced spindle and two knobs on antique front door lock, and added antique-looking deadbolt above that.

+ -1 moreI called Bonded Lock to help us remove an old Russwin lock from a door we were refurbishing. We had the door off the hinges, and asked if someone could come by that day. They were able to find someone who came, and in 2 minutes got the lock off. He showed us how the lock worked (it was so simple, I'm embarrassed to say). Overall, I would say they went above and beyond the call to get someone there within hours, and did exactly what we asked for. He also provided a 10% Angie's List discount. But as they say, you get what you pay for. For the service call, it was $65, and then $35 to take the lock off. So we ended up paying $100 for a 2 minute job. Ouch. (Not knowing if that's the going rate with other locksmiths, I've rated the price as ''bad.'' But if it's the going rate, then the price rating should read ''Fair.'') But at least now we know how the lock works...I guess we'll chalk it up to 'training expenses' on our accounting ledgers...:o)

The price was more than I thought but I feel that it was well worth it, especially for the 24-hr emergency service, if I should ever need it. Finally, Jim did a thorough walk-thru of the house and property to give me ideas for what other security issues I should be aware of and reasonable ways to address them. Highly recommended.
