They were very nice and showed up on time, he pointed out some problems with our furnace. Said he would look into seeing if it was covered by a warranty. We never heard back from them and ended up hiring another HVAC group to come back and install a new system for us. Their loss for not following up.

I was very pleased with the actual work done by the technicians. The guys were helpful in explaining the maintenance that needs to be done regularly and also let me know that another of my boilers is in serious need of replacement. They provided me with different payment options and products that could meet my needs. For these reasons I would be very happy to use ARS again. However, after the work was completed, I was told that I would be contacted by their Master Plumber in order to set up a time for him to come out and inspect the work and provide a permit for the boiler. I was not contacted, so I followed up with ARS. I left two messages and didn't hear back so I emailed. My email was returned and I was assured that the Master Plumber would be in contact. The master plumber did reach out to me and we set up a time for him to come and inspect the boiler and provide the permit. He called the day before to confirm, which I did, however, I never heard anything after the appointment and from what I can tell it doesn't appear that there is a permit anywhere on the boiler. All this back and forth regarding the permit has been frustrating. I need to replace another boiler in the next month or so and would like to use ARS from a technical and financial standpoint, but am reluctant, especially if I still don't have the permit as of now (8+ months after installation). I have reached out to the company by email again today, 11/25/16, in reference to the permit and am awaiting a reply.

This was a big deal purchase. It worked out well. They actually called and were able to reschedule even earlier than we had initially booked the visit. I found them on Angie's List. They did everything they were supposed to do, I guess. I did not have any interaction with them. The work turned out great. I would recommend them.

It went very well. I have no complaints at all. They did very good work, they're very punctual, prompt and clean. The thing is the guy was forthcoming, he explained everything to me he didn't just do everything. That's why they came back out. I was very pleased.

As much as I didn't want to have to replace my gas furnace, I was very pleased with ARS. When the tech came out to clean my previous furnace, which was 30 years old, he pointed out the corrosion and explained it wasn't safe to use. He gave me a couple recommendations of what I should have and I was able to have it installed on a Saturday. The installers were very neat and conscious of not damaging anything and they even covered their shoes when they came in. Not something you see too often. I had used ARS previously and would highly recommend them.

Two days later with no problems new furnance was installed.
Description of Work: they inspected my furnace and it needed second time repair of moter. The other option was to put in a new furnace after the inspection of ac as well as the furnace. The present furnace was not adequit to handle the size of house as well as the AC.

I've used ARS several times for heater maintenance and tune-ups and have gotten great service, and my experience having them install a central A/C system was no different. The project manager that I consulted with was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took notes as we walked the house, and explained the various design options along with decisions to be made and their implications (e.g. whether to install ducts on both floors in the house or only one). After a few days, he provided a very detailed quote with equipment options in a good, better, best format. We chose a 2nd floor-only system with the "best" equipment option, which was only slightly more expensive than the "better" option due to a higher mfr rebate. Scheduling was easy, and the crew that came to do the installation was professional, courteous, clean, and had the entire system installed and running perfectly in only 2 days. This was an expensive project because of the duct installation, but ARS made the whole process easy, and we're very happy with the system we chose.

Spoke to ARS and they asked their contractors if this job was feasible based on location and the condo build and we were told yes. Scheduled an appointment for 10/17 between 8-10am. No one showed. Called back today I was told they cancelled my appointment because i did not call them last week to confirm, and based on the job they can't work with me anyways. Complete lack of communication from them, just like any other contractor.
Description of Work: Was looking to get a quote on duct work for an in unit washer/dryer to be installed.

Our central air, which is attached to our heater, died over the summer. We can't fix the central air right now, but ARS replaced the control board (over $800) so that our heater would work come Winter. We didn't touch the thermostat in between having the control board replaced and having ARS back out for our annual heater tune-up, so we were not expecting any issues. The tech who came out told us that the inducer motor was over-amping the system and that our heater was fine now but could die at any time (or not--he really couldn't tell us) unless we replaced the motor. That would cost $600. We weren't ok with the wait and see approach because who wants to deal with a dead heater in the middle of winter in MA? Not us. But we also couldn't understand why the previous ARS tech didn't see a problem when he said that he heat was working, and we didn't feel confident in the tech we just had out. We decided to hold on replacing the part and call another company out for a consultation. It turns out, there's nothing wrong with our heater (including the inducer motor). Of course, we had to pay to find out that ARS was wrong, so my partner decided to request a refund from ARS for the cost of the tune-up. They said no, arguing that we were free to take or leave the tech's recommendations. While that is true enough, it's also true that our choice to replace a $600 part or roll the dice and hope for the best was based on an incorrect assessment of our heater's performance in the first place. I'm moving on from ARS, not because of the refund issue (although I don't agree about that), but because this was actually the second time that I have had a problem with their service. The people who answer the phone have always been very nice, but my own impression of the company is that they employ techs with an extremely wide range of experience. Some of their people have been in the business 20, 30 years and really do seem to know their stuff. Others, not as much. We both work full-time and just don't have time to deal with multiple appointments like this.

Great! Every time I've worked with them, they're always very clean, professional, and punctual. They're very personable, and explain everything they're doing. Their pricing might be a little higher than others, but you absolutely get what you pay for!

It went very well. Jim C. was my technician and he was great. He checked to ensure that both units were working properly and they were. He also went out and purchased two filters for one of the units and returned within the hour.

The Tech was very knowledgeable but the people in the office need to be better trained on my service you are paying for.
Description of Work: A Furnace tuneup. I though I was getting a complete tuneup but when I spoke to the tech that came out all I was getting was a visual inspection. The real tune up was going to cost me over $400.

Great experience from start to finish. We originally consulted a competitor that said we could not have conventional AC installed and had to go with the high velocity alternative - which cost $8000 more than conventional AC. An ARS consultant came and said conventional could definitely be done at quite a bit less. Ryan from ARS was great about sizing up the project and outlining how the AC components would be installed and Lou and his installation team were professional and done in no time. They even made sure to send a cover for the AC unit that had initially not been sent. Will definitely be using ARS again in the future.

It went very well. Cameron, the ARS technician quickly diagnosed what was wrong. Fixed it, and then proceeded to fix some other things he observed (e.g., exposed wiring). He tasted the output using gauges aad stayed around to ensure we were getting cool air from all outlets.
