SMOOTH MOOVES INC

Reese and his crew did an unbelievable job. It was like having a group of friends coming over to help you move. It took a total of three trucks over a period of three days; with items going to a total of three different locations. They were accommodating, pleasant and efficient. There was no breakage, no damage to walls or doors. They even arranged the move over the weekend, working primarily on Sunday. It is hard to imagine a move going better.

The first mover came over to review w/my the contents of my house & to get an overall impression of the status of the furniture etc., to be moved. The other two movers arrived about 30 minutes later and together it took about 4 hours to get all of my stuff on the truck. They told me they'd arrive an hour later in Quincy and they did. They unwrapped and delivered each piece of furniture on the appropriate floor (per our directions). Overall, they were very careful with my stuff and very helpful in re-assembling some items. They also agreed to bring to the curb a few items that we no longer needed.

They were great. They helped us pack last minute items that weren't packed, they quickly and efficiently took apart out twin's cribs, our dining room table and put both together again in our new house. They helped organize furniture once we arrived and even though one glass bookshelf door was cracked during the move, it was fixed without a problem.

This is a terrific company. Reese Farrow, the owner, came over to estimate the requirements of the job and quoted us a binding estimate ($1,800 - $2,200), and he suggested that a two-day move would go more smoothly that a one-day job, which turned out to be the case. His movers arrived on time, worked professionally, but cordially the entire time, made suggestions, and did not break one single item.

My move was completed in less time than I expected for about $100 less than the estimate. The movers were fast, professional, friendly, and didn't complain about all the stairs they had to maneuver on both ends. Nothing was damaged and everything ended up where I wanted it. Based on my experience, I would recommend this mover to a friend.

I chose Smooth Mooves because of both price and because I was highly satisfied with how Reese (the owner) handled my questions and inquires over the phone. Overall, however, I was less than satisfied and I would never recommend their business to anyone requiring a small job. While they successfully completed the job, there were several times where it was apparent that all the information I told Reese had not been retained or told to the movers. And the attention to detail was sorely lacking. They had to ask me where I was moving to, there was a misunderstanding with "start time," they were not expecting to pack and did not bring extra boxes, they did not wrap my mattress as Reese had reassured me they would. A wheel had fallen off one of my cabinets and I had to point it out to them. One of the movers left the toilet seat up after using my bathroom and also left an empty drink cup in my kitchen. All little things which don't seem to matter that much, but then, they do matter.

Pretty well. The storage space they use charged me a lot more than smooth moves had told me they would, and I had to drive all the way out there to get the best deal (which didn't end up being that great). There were some nics left in the wall and balcony, and the owner came back and fixed them himself, which was nice.

They arrived on time at 9. Three guys and a Budget truck, I will admit I was not filled with confidence. But they went straight to work, and the house emptied at a phenomenal rate. They finished the move out by 12, then took lunch and were ready for the move in at 1. Unfortunately, our de-leading contractors were still at work, so we couldn't move anything to the second floor and had to move everything to the third floor. They took this change of plans in stride. The movers proceeded to carefully and quickly pack the third floor practically floor-to-ceiling with all of our belongings, and finished by 4. Four pieces of furniture didn't fit, so they wrapped them in blankets and left them in our garage; I'll probably hire them again to hoist them to our second floor now that the de-leaders have finished there. One antique table had a broken leg, but it was looking pretty bad before the move and I really can't fault the movers for it- it probably broke before they even touched it.

This was probably the best moving experience I've ever had, from the time I first called Reese, until the moment they left my new home. Reese answered my first call immediately and was polite and informative over the phone. This continued on the day of the move. Our three-person crew (Reese himself, Tim and Jim) were fantastic. They worked hard and fast, without being careless. On the contrary: they were extremely cautious with my stuff, and didn't cut any corners. They were only too happy to help in any way possible, and no request was too much for them. They kept asking if there was anything else they could do for us. I'm not sure how to make this last comment without sounding xenophobic, which is DEFINITELY not my intention, but...it occurred to both my wife and to me what a pleasure it was to be able to communicate with movers in English, without any problems.

Overall this was the BEST move we have ever had. From the minute we called on the phone and they scheduled to see the house for an estimate (which Gentle Giants does not do) to the very end when they gave the kids t-shirts, these guys were fantastic. Nothing was broken or chipped. And in the new house we made changes to some of our initial furniture layout plans and asked them to switch dressers and bookcases and move couches several times and at the end of a 9 hour day the still were smiling. Everything priced out to their estimate and we got the $50.00 Angie's discount. This was a 9 hour move involving 5 guys and two trucks and they were non-stop moving machines. Also, no foul language or arguments among crew members, they totally worked as a team. We did all our own packing, except for the furniture which they wrapped. We had more than 200 boxes of books & stuff. They have a great connection with Benezra Boxes and we had all our boxes delivered to us in 24 hrs!!

The actual move went well. Reese showed up with one extra person and an additional moving van which came in handy as I underestimated how much we managed to stuff into our tiny apartment. He also did not charge me for the extra van, but did for the extra person. I got what I paid for. These guys were professional. They paid special attention to the big items, which was good. However, they were less careful with smaller items. A lamp was broken in the move, which was unfortunate, since they pointed out to me that it had happened to them before with a similar type of lamp. I also lost a small wireless odometer attached to my bike. Other than those things (I guess to be expected in a move), everything else is in good shape. There were also a few scrapes and nicks on the walls and moldings, but I believe I got good value. I'd recommend these guys if you needed a good, value mover. I'd pack more delicate, prone-to-be-damaged-stuff, and transport myself, like tourchieres.

Exceptional experience. Movers were on time, friendly and professional. They were literally running between the truck and the apartment. I can't believe how fast the process (three hours) was, and thus, quite a bargain! We thought we would move out of the storage unit (and into our new house) on our own, but we will be using Smooth Mooves again. They gave us a discount because they got "lost" in Boston, but they arrived at the moving location only 10 minutes after we did (and due to the truck were forced to take a different route). Highly recommended!

Sent an e-mail explaining what we were looking for, what needed to be moved and the place we were moving to and from. Received no response.

Very professional and courteous. They did the job quickly and efficiently. From the phone conversations to scheduling to the actual work of moving the pieces, these guys were professional and friendly. I enjoyed working with them.

Generally the work was performed as discussed. The team arrived when scheduled and the actual cost was very close to the original quote. We had two problems with the move. The dining room table legs were removed and they shouldn't been, and a work table was lost in the move and we are currently in the process of resolving this matter with the movers.

I called Smooth Mooves in a pinch after the movers I previously hired did not show up. Reese was able to schedule me with three days notice to unload my U Haul. He agreed to send two men at the rate of $125/hour, and offered to reduce the three hour minimum to two hours. David and his crew (Andy and Z) showed up early on Saturday morning. They worked carefully but efficiently to unload our furniture, including several large, fragile pieces, which was difficult due to the small stairwell. David and his crew were very professional and friendly. David even honored the rate quoted to me by Reese, which was for only two men, even though he brought three (and he needed three because of the hoist). I will definitely call Smooth Mooves again for our next move.

Best experience I have ever had with a moving company. They were punctual and worked efficiently. They didn't even try to slow down the pace to be able to charge more in terms of hours. In my prior move, I used a moving company rated as the best in Boston by Boston magazine, but took them a whole day to move my belongings. Reese and his crews finished the move in about 5 hours. Excellent job and will definitely hire them again in the future.

They did an outstanding job at an excellent price. I highly recommend them.

Very good experience. The movers were on time, courteous and hard working. I first called them on a Monday, and they were able to move the clock two days later. They spent about 30 minutes reassembling and leveling the clock after the move. When I presented them with the Angie's list coupon, they refused it because they said they had already given me a very good price.

They could not have been better. They were on time. They did a great job. The price was right. The men that came and did the job could not have been nicer.

Reese from Smooth Mooves answered the phone when I called. He gave me an rough estimate over the phone, but said he would come by our apartment at our convenience & give us a solid estimate. He estimated 6 hours for the job, with 3 movers working on it, & then gave us a "not to exceed" price, which was 20 percent higher. We called more than a month in advance & were moving on a Friday, so we were able to get the date we wanted. Reese said someone would contact me to get our details & secure a $50 deposit, but that someone never called. As the move got closer, I did have to call a couple of times to make sure we were on their schedule, which we were, so all was fine. The movers were great- friendly, showed up on time, & worked fast. The only thing that broke in the move was a bottle of Jack Daniels (due to my improper packaging) & the movers seemed genuinely sorry for our loss. The move ended up taking 6.75 hours instead of 6, but we had many boxes.

The moving crew (consisted of 3 men) were polite, pleasant and prompt. One of them was new to the job, but the rest seemed to give great on-the-job pointers while working. Swiftly moved everything out of the apartment in less than half hour (everything was pre-packed before they arrived). I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't provide mattress and sofa plastic covers (which came standard & free-of-charge with other moving companies I've used). They politely let me know when they're taking a break, and the owner even stopped by to help the crew!!! Overall, Smooth Mooves provided a very professional service. Not the cheapest among other movers I used, but their pricing is definitely competitive. Will recommend their service to others.

They were an hour early (a pleasant surprise) and worked quickly and efficiently to pack and unpack my belongings. After all the time I'd spent boxing things, the rapidity of the actual move amazed me. It was, truly, a ''smooth moove.''

They were great! Courtious and professional. Moved my furniture quickly and took uptmost care with my things. Highly recomended!
