Handyman Fran

We left Fran a message on Wednesday evening and he got back to us Sunday evening profusely apologizing for the delay in responding. From my experiences with contractors/handymen anything less than a week is great and to be called on a weekend seemed above and beyond. Fran scheduled a date to come by to give us a quote (replacing some siding and drywall a very small hall [about 4 ft long]). He was prompt and polite but said the work was a little more involved than he usually takes on. He gave us a the name of someone else to try and even pointed out that we'd forgotten to take out a plug on a second story A/C unit he'd seen on the way in. If we have any small jobs around the house that we're unable to take on, we'll definitely be calling Fran.

I called Fran a few weeks ago. He was busy until today. He got the work done quickly (less than an hour altogether) and with a minimum of fuss. Whenever people charge by the hour, I worry that they're going to pad out their time, but Fran did nothing of the sort. He did exactly the work he needed to do to get the job done.

I have used Handyman Fran twice in the past and had a number of tasks that I needed to have done. His price is very reasonable for his work and he is efficient. The only drawback is that I had to wait a few weeks to get him in because he is so busy. But he did great work as usual. I have had a lot of difficulty with some bi-fold doors and another handyman had done some work on it in the past but it did not stay in. A screw was also damaged after that. Fran first suggested replacing the doors but then realized that he could switch the 2 doors and alternate the pieces which worked perfectly. If he hadn't thought of this creative solution I might have had to get some more doors. He also gave me instructions on replacing/getting screens for some windows. He installed a deadbolt lock and it works great. Highly recommend him in the future.

Working with Fran is a pleasure because he is professional, pleasant, responsive, meticulous and prompt. We will definitely work with him again and recommend him to friends.

Overall, it was excellent. Fran called me back within an hour, scheduled a visit for the next day, arrived on time, and completed the work quickly. He then identified a solution to a drafty door, purchased a kit to seal it up, and installed the kit after leveling the door (that wasn't installed correctly by an earlier "craftsman."

I sought quotes from three contractors for a very small window repair. Not only was Fran the only contractor who returned my call, he also made a follow-up call on a Sunday evening to see if I was all set. I was fortunate that a family member made the repair in the meantime. Nonetheless, I most appreciated Fran's courteous and professional manner. It was impressive that he would not only return my call but also follow up when I had indicated in my voicemail the job was very small. Fran's responsiveness reinforeced my belief in the effectiveness of Angie's list. I can see why he earns such high ratings.

He was here on time. He very precise and said what he could do and how long it would take to do the job. He also suggested to do somethings.

My overall experience with Fran has been exceedingly satisfactory. He is honest about what home projects he can do. When there is something that he doesn't do he has a list of referrals such as; electricians, plumbers & painters, all of whom seem as expert and reliable as handyman Fran.

The most outstanding thing is that he called us as soon as he got our message, and then told us honestly when he would show up. When he had to re-schedule two days he called us immediately. Much better than, "Yeah... I'll get there next wekk..." He took the initiative to confer with us. We were not there. He called us.

I called and he returned my call promptly. We set up a service date and he told me he would call the day before, which he did. He called the next morning to let me know when he would arrive. He was prompt, courteous, and used his time well. I was amazed at how much he got done in the time he had. The last thing he said to me before he left was that I should call him if I had any questions about or problems with the work he did. Then, a few days later, he called to ask if I was happy with his work. This guy was great, and I definitely will use him again.

We were very pleased with Mr. Carito and the excellent work he did for us. He returned my call very promptly scheduled the work we requested. He is extremely knowledgeable and is very skilled at doing a wide variety of work from ceramic tile removal and installation to installing a new thermostat and replacing a doorknob. He is very nice and very professional. We will be calling Fran again for any future work we have and highly recommend him. We are very happy with all of the work he has done for us.

He did not bother to respond to my list of small handyman jobs and said he is no longer in business.

He has been excellent, timely and he has done the jobs correctly.

After a few attempts with connecting via phone (Fran was on vacation), we were both able to coordinate a schedule for Fran to be at our home for several hours. He arrived promptly and was able to start on the projects right away. It was helpful that I had the supplies he would need, caulking, light switch, bulbs, paint, etc. Fran was very focused and efficient with completing the list of projects. He was pleasant, neat and careful of personal items. I found him knowledgeable in all areas of home maintenance. I will definitely be using him again.

He was great. He was responsive, a very nice person, and did quality work. He did everything right and I don’t have to worry if I put something heavy on the shelves.

Fran did everything right. He responded to my initial phone call promptly, made an appointment in the time frame I requested (between tenants in rental property) and appeared as planned. He did things in the simplest, most effective way possible and left things working far better than before he came.

He is fantastic! We love him. He is prompt in returning calls and coming over. He understanding about be cost effective with his work.

Fran is professional and intelligent. He really knows his stuff. I would very much recommend Fran. He is honest and does good work. There's no hype.

Fran came and did many tasks last year as well as this year. He knows a lot and is able to solve problems quickly. He makes excellent suggestions. He is an extremely helpful and capable person.

His work was very good, and the quality was fine. My only complaint was that he was slower than I thought was necessary; he was on the phone while he was working, which might have slowed him down. He could improve his efficiency because he charges by the hour. His price was fine too. I would not use him again in the future.
