It went very well. They were on time both for providing the estimate and for the work. They worked efficiently and cleaned up at the end. The door had a problem a few days later and they came back out immediately to fix it. I am quite pleased with the results and recommend them to others.

It took a few calls to reach these guys, because you have to leave a message and wait for a call-back, but it was worth waiting a couple of days. They did a good job, worked quickly, and were very pleasant.

It went very well from start to finish. He was done in about a half hour.. He knew I had a Dr. appointment that A.m. So he came extra early to accommodate me.

These guys are amazing. I called them and they came to my house within just a few days. They helped me select the perfect garage door for my circumstances and explained the various options. I had to order a custom door. Once it was ready, they came by and installed it. They were incredibly responsive and very fairly priced. They did a beautiful job installing the garage door. I am absolutely thrilled and highly recommend them.

I've shopped and met reps from three different companies - the Home Depot brand, Wayne-Dalton and Garaga. The Clopay HD, was less expensive but not very good quality. For just a few hundred dollars more I could get one of the other two and get a big bump up in look and fabrication. I liked the Wayne-Dalton a lot, but I got the feeling that the price kept going up for this and that...made me nervous. So I used Angie's List, called S&S (he had so many good reviews and I couldn't afford to make a mistake) and Gary not only called back right away, he really stayed in touch, left me a quote while I was at work, and ordered the door when I gave it a go. We discussed asst doors but he assessed the neighborhood and didn't try to promote something that was more expensive and more door than I needed. Gary and his son came right on time, on the day they said they would, and in two hours, voila, a door that both locked and was much easier/quieter than the old 50 year old door. I had two questions the day after; called and left a message - he called back the same day. All vendors charged about the same - although there was one co that seemed suspiciously low. I stuck with Gary because @ approx. $1,000 for a door, I couldn't afford to make a mistake to save a few $$. I'm a homeowner that's had a bizarre, endless stream of bad services, bad workers for the last year. I was so relieved to have something done right the first time!

Gary is a consummate professional. Not only was the installation of our garage opener extremely reasonable in price, but he refused to hit us with additional work deemed "essential" by another contractor. He was prompt, fast, and a pleasure to talk with. Ten months later, when the door needed an adjustment, Gary was quick to respond to our call and did not charge for the service call. We will be loyal customers forever!

I am very satisfied with the work. They did a great job: showed up when they said they would, were pleasant and professional, and cleaned up the area when they were finished. And came back when I got home from work to show me how to operate the door opener. Looks great!

I called Gary who answered my questions quickly. I had 35 year old garage door openers - one of which was not functioning. He popped over that afternoon to inspect the situation and reported immediately. The malfunctioning door could not be fixed because the mechanisms were so old that no doors worked with those mechanics/electronics any more. He explained what other services he would perform when installing the new lifting mechanism. It sounded so good that we decided to do both doors. We now have doors that open with a touch and are "tuned up" for smooth action and ease of use. He showed up exactly when he said he would and was in and out before you knew it. I would definitely call Gary for any other garage door services.

I called on Monday, 7/16, about fixing my door sensor, as well as installing a keypad on the outside of my house. Gary called back within a couple hours, and we scheduled a time for Thursday AM of the same week (he was available sooner). He and his son arrived 10 minutes early, were very pleasant, and very efficient. They did everything flawlessly, and I also used them to make my wife's garage door smoother (they replaced the pulleys). All of the work was done in 30 minutes. I wish more service providers were like S&S. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

We recently moved to a house in Braintree that has a garage. A few weeks after we moved in, the cable that attaches the spring to the garage door broke, so we needed to find a company to repair the problem. After browsing Angie's List, I contacted S & S OVERHEAD DOOR CO because they have a great ranking and are local to us. They came out the very next day to do an estimate. After consulting my wife and I on what was wrong and what it would cost to repair the door, we accepted their quote and they wound up performing the repair work the same day. The work was done quickly and professionally. We were even given advice on some issues we were unaware of (such as the door tracks not having been installed properly in the first place). When the time comes to install an opener or replace the door altogether, S & S OVERHEAD DOOR CO will definitely get our business again.

Gary and Justin Scalese inspected my stuck garage door on a thursday a.m. They promptly gave me two reasonable estimates 1) repair hardware and reset cables. 2) repair plus an entire new door. I opted for plan 1). Two working days later, they returned with all the parts, and in just a few hours the job was done! Everything works perfectly, they cleaned up and removed all old material. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. I recommend them highly!! It is a pleasure to deal with a privately owned small company (father & son team). They were prompt, knowledgeable, courteous, and fair.

Overhead garage door spring had broken. I looked for reviews on Angie's list. (loooove Angie's list!) Saw many A-rated reviews for S&S Overhead Door. Left a message for S&S. Got a call back within a few hours. Next day, Gary Scalese came to see the job, gave a quote, we said yes. WIthin 3 hours the job was complete. Gary needed a new spring, but knew exactly where to get the part he needed locally. Start to finish, the job took less than 3 hours. Gary really knows his stuff, and he made this a painless easy fix. I highly recommend.

I completed the service request form on the website of S&S Overhead Door late at night and the next morning received a phone call from Gary. He said that he would stop by my house to measure my garage door and to leave me some brochures. When I returned home from work that day not only had Gary dropped off the brochures, but he also had left a message on my home phone with a suggested door model and opener. After reviewing the literature, I phoned Gary the following day (a Friday) to tell him that I agreed with his selection and that I would like him to install the door. He said that he would be able to do the work on Tuesday. I couldn't be more pleased with my new door and the quality of service provided by S&S Overhead Door. I now understand firsthand why this company has received such great reviews by Angie's List members.
