They fixed my garage door and refitted it with a new opening system

Submitted a request on the website and Gary called me back within a few hours. We arranged a time for him to see the door and he quoted a price. The day we set, him and his son were in and out in 2 hours and the cost was exactly what he quoted. He was friendly, responsive and extremely professional. A great experience for me and the first vendor I pulled off of Angie's List gave me a lot of confidence in this service.

Gary & Justin seemed very nice and generally helpful. Unfortunately, they completely failed to follow up with me and completely failed to resolve my garage door problems. I did not receive the professional service recognized on Angie's List. Administratively this was awful. I steadfastly do not recommend this company.

He knows garages and garage doors. He was extremely helpful and willing to schedule to meet with the carpenter and electrician. We decided to postpone this work with the idea of rebuilding a new garage from scratch. Part of this was Gary of S&S Overhead Door pointing out the limited depth of the current structure (it would fit the cars but not much else). Based on his patience and the evaluation he gave, I would definitely recommend him.

Absolutely phenomenal service. I could not have been happier with the work that Gary and his son did. Our old opener burned out its motor. I called Gary that afternoon and he was able to come by the following morning to replace it. He quoted me a price, sight unseen, and stuck to it. He showed up exactly on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up everything, including disposing of the old motor. He and his son were also very pleasant and friendly. Over a month later, one of the rollers on the door was popping out of the track so I called him to see if he could adjust it. He came the next day and fixed the track. Even though I didn't think this problem was related to the previous work at all, he refused to take any additional money and said "You already paid for the motor installation." Would definitely hire S&S again without a doubt.

It went very well. My son, who had discovered the problem, went out to be with the man while he was here. The guy arrived when he had said he would, saw the problem, did the work, and left. And my husband, son, and I are very happy with it and will call him again if we need to.

Everything went well! Gary came on time (as usual) and did a great job installing an automatic opener on an older garage that did not have one. He had come out previously to take detailed measurements to ensure there was sufficient clearance for my vehicle and the overhead door opener before doing the install, and selected a top of the line opener at reasonable cost. He had previously replaced my garage doors and openers at my former house, as well as performing needed services at intervals. Gary has always done a fantastic job at reasonable cost, and is very pleasant and responsive to deal with.

Perfect job! Garage door became difficult to close, and as I forced it I broke the bottom section. They I couldn't close it at all. Didn't want to spend $1,000 to replace it, but Gary was able to replace just the damaged section and repair the mechanism so it now opens and closes with one hand - better than it ever did. The only hitch was that it took forever for the parts to come in, so the door was standing open for a long time. Nobody stole anything though! Gary was pleasant to deal with and very easy to reach. The delay was beyond his control, and once the parts came in the job was done the next day.

Excellent. Responded to my inquiry quickly. Assessed the job, quoted me a reasonable price, and did the work in a very timely fashion. Quality of workmanship is excellent. All around good experience.

Gary from S and S Overhead Door was a pleasure to deal with and kept in touch with me every step of the way. He quoted me a price on the garage door I selected and his quote was dead on. He took a deposit and ordered the door, which was custom built to my specifications. When it came in, he called and had it installed in about half a day. This door exceeded all of my expectations. I expected it to be pretty nice, but it is amazing. The workmanship is exceptional and it is truly beautiful. He installed a keypad outside to open and close the door. The door opener operates smoothly and precisely. The door is sealed up tightly and totally weather proof. All in all, the garage door adds so much to the overall look of the house and I couldn't be happier with it. S and S Overhead Door is professional, competent, honest and I have no complaints whatsoever. If you need a garage door, go with the guys from S and S Overhead Door!

Contacted via AL email. He called me next day, came out day after that, was happy to come out with no one home, and that was fine with me. I was hoping my opener only needed repair but he said motor was shot, needed replace, which we did. He came out next business day, again w/o us at home, and did the work, left us a bill. Didn't insist on payment right away or anything, just left us the bill, trusting us, which I liked. Rated B for price, ' cause I don't really know if it's a lot or a little, and was hoping it would be less.

The doors were basic doors with a Lift Master lift system. Gary & his son quoted and delivered the doors as requested. The Garage doors operated flawlessly and are quiet. 7 months later the garage door is out of alignment. I am waiting to hear back from Gary to figure out what has happened to warp the lift system and cause a problem. I anticipate that Gary will provide an answer.

Work was done on time, for the amount quoted.

Gary called me back next day, came two days later, fixed everything up great. I've used him in the past, and he's just as wonderful as in the past, alwasys shows up on time, does great work, and is very reasonable with the charges. I always feel safe when Gary has fixed my garage door; and he has given me some tips to keep it running smoothly. Way to go, Gary! Thanks so much!

Very easy to work with Gary. The panel was expensive ($442) because it was custom, but the price for installation was good.

Gary answered the phone promptly and fixed a broken spring and pulley string in the garage door opener.

Gary called me back the same day. He is a true GDG (Garage Door Guru!) I described the problem to him over the phone and the diagnostic steps I had taken so far. He then told me what to do over the phone to "save me some $" took his advice and it works great now. Gary could have easily come out for a quick service call to make a quick buck, but instead advised me over the phone and I appreciate it. he knows his stuff and I will definitely use him when a more major repair comes along.

Our garage door is very old, no remote, and on one side the spring had sprung! I researched on AL and called S & S. Gary responded quickly, and came over the next day to review the situation. I was happy when he said that he could repair it, and happier that it was fairly inexpensive. One minor communication snafu, but then work was done quickly and the door opens easily now. Very happy with the result.

I did not want to bother the provider over Mothers Day weekend - so I emailed him requesting help. I received a timely follow up by phone, an appointment was set and father and son were there promptly as promised. The repairs were conducted quickly, cleanly and accurately - there was no pressure or conversation to expand services or purchases other than what was conducted. This was my first experience with this company and will use them again and recommend them anytime asked. This was also my first experience with Angies List - and I am thrilled with my first choice.

my garage door was failing to open and i thought it might have needed tension spring adjustment. i thought it easier and safer to let a pro work on the spring, so i called S&S and made an appointment. as it turned out, i discovered in the meantime that i needed only adjustement of the opener motor sensitivity, so i was able to get my door working again on my own. gary came out and lubed and inspected two garage doors. at my request, gary replaced garage door weather stripping around door that had accumulated too much paint and age to work properly and looked bad due to "puckering" of the seal. he took measurements. then left. returned a few days later with materials to install. he did a good job at a fair price. he seemed experienced and well-equipped to do the job. while this was a comparatively easy job, i would use gary again if i needed service or replacement of garage door or opener.

He replied my calls almost immediately, while other companies took several days to call me back. He was very transparent about prices and quality and was able to do the job within very few days (which was important since it was winter). He installed the door and the door opener in just about 4 hours and hauled the old door. I got a better door and door opener than what a big retail store was offering me and paid about $300 less. Nice guy with many years of experience in the business.

Gary returned my call promptly, showed up at the agreed upon time, described the proposed equipment and gave a price. He described in detail the proposed installation and any required precondition. Once the deal had been made, he set up anappointed date for the installation. He showed up on time, did the work efficiently and neatly, demonstrated the system and asked if I got what I had ordered.

I asked them to try to fix a faulty lighting switch in the overhead door motor. The tried to replace the switch, but were unable to fix the problem. They did not charge me for their time.

They did a good job, I give them top ratings in all areas.
