Very well. He was prompt, courteous, neat, and was able to fix one of the garage door openers without us having to replace it, which was cheaper of course.

When our garage door opener broke, Gary came out for an estimate within 24 hours and replaced both garage door openers in less than a week. He advised us well about our choices, found a quality product that was on sale, and completed the work in less than half a day. He was prompt, efficient, cheerful, and competent! He lived up to all the other Angie's List reviews. We would recommend him highly.

Gary returned my call within a few hours and came to fix the garage door on the same day. (I live in the same city as his business is located.) He identified the problem, explained the issue to my husband and me, had the required spare parts in his truck and replaced the faulty item on the spot.

When I called Mr. Scalese he immediately returned my call and came to check out the job the very next day. While checking the work he noticed a problem with the door opener and fixed it right away no charge.

I called on 5:00PM Wed. A repair man arrived 8:15AM Thursday, it was fixed in 15 minutes.

Gary made a very favorable impression by showing up on time for the initial estimate, as well as the appointment to install the door. He returned calls promptly and answered all our questions. He was a bit more expensive than what Home Depot quoted, but having someone who is prompt and knowledgeable is priceless, as MasterCard says. Gary also pointed out problems with the way our current door was hung and moved the track so it was centered correctly.

I called on a Tuesday. Gary called me back that evening and made an appointment to come out on Thursday. He would have come Wednesday, but we were expecting a major snowstorm. The appointment was for 3:30. I arrived home at 3:20 and he was there. Took about 20 minutes to complete the work. I told him that I also had a problem with the overhead light in the garage staying on too long. He reprogrammed my remote so that I could push a button to turn the light off when I left the garage. Made sure I was satisfied before he left.

One of my garage door extension springs broke, blowing right through the wall. Called S & S. Gary came at 9 the next morning, fixed everything in less than half an hour. This guy's the master (of garage doors anyway). I believe he's a one man operation. Anyway, he's the guy to use for garage door problems, and don't forget the safety cables.

Gary was very prompt in returning the call, did the work while we were at work (which was a huge help for us), and now the door is not only fixed but operates more smoothly and quietly than ever before.

Initially S&S came to look at our garage door which we had tried to repair; the screw holes in the door panels were rotting and the screws that hold the opener to the door panels kept popping off. Other garage door companies had recommended expensive new doors. For free, S&S gave us some different and better bolts and we were able to fix the problem ourselves. We then called them to fix some other door problems, a bent ceiling support and incorrectly attached spring. They fixed it quickly and very reasonably.

Both of my garage doors stuck going up and down, as well as shaking the house. Gary came out promptly and changed six pulleys. The doors now run smoothly.

Gary was very responsive, set up time for estimate, called promptly with estimate. Scheduled agreeable time and followed up as a reminder. Workmanship was very good and cleaned up after. Gary was very pleasant, and I would highly recommend him and hire S & S again.

We decided to get more quotes for other companies, but hired Gary because of his no-nonsense assessment of the project and his attractive price. He showed up when promised and completed the work. The opener works well and he charged us exactly what he had quoted us at the beginning. I highly recommend S&S Overhead Doors.

I called Gary on a Friday and left a message. He called me back that evening and said he could come to my home that Monday to provide an estimate. After giving me an estimate on Monday morning I asked him to do the job. He said he was available on Thursday to do the installation. I wasn't home, but I received a call at 1:00 pm on Thursday that the work was done and the remotes were left in the garage. He did a super job!

They answered the phone on the first ring. They were here right on time within 24 hours. They fixed numerous problems that had me flummoxed for a couple years. I wrote a $75 check. They did great work. It was a great deal.

Gary was very nice and although he misplaced my home phone and got a little lost on the way here, did eventually get here! Due to offset motor position in our garage, he felt that to put in a steel door would require moving a light in the garage in order to center the motor, and we would have had to hire an electrician for that part (not appealing - extra cost and hassle; another garage door installer said they would be able to work with the offset motor, even with a steel door). Decided not to go with him because it would require separate electrical work. I thought his price, though, was reasonable.

Originally, I made a service call to Door Systems, and two service men came out promptly to look at the doors. After looking at the doors, they said that it would not be economically feasible to repair the doors, although they could do the job. They said they needed to have a salesman contact me. The salesman called and set up an appointment and re-iterated that it would be more economical to replace both doors with all new hardware. He gave us two quotes, one for steel and one for wood. The quote for complete replacement steel was $2,400 and wood was $3,400. We went to the showroom and looked at both. The steel doors looked fake, and the wood doors looked cheap. We were bummed out. I called S&S Overhead Door. Gary came out the next morning and said it would be no problem to repair the doors. He came out a couple days later, did the job in a couple of hours, and they work like new. I never did get a repair quote from Overhead Door!
