I had expected an expensive garage door repair. Called Gary to schedule time, assess extent of problem and get an estimate. Gary called back promptly that day and provided detailed instructions on how to lubricate the critical points of the garage door. The instructions were clear and direct. I followed his instructions and after ten minutes of work I have a garage door that is operating smoothly. Thank you.

I called Gary and left a message on his phone. He called me that evening for garage door size and set up a date and tentative timing about a week out. He and his son showed up on the specified day and got right to work. Job was done in a couple of hours. Gary walked me through the installation and procedures for changing access codes. He handed me car remotes and instructions. All trash was removed and everything was neat when they left. I would happily use S & S again. (this is their second job at my house. In 2012, Gary replaced rotten panels on two garage doors.)

We had two visits. The first to assess the damage and wear, the second to do the work when the motors became available. (The supply house hadn't been plowed out during one of the many snow storm this winter.) Both times the men came @ the arranged time even with the snows. They were pleasant, explained what they were going to do and how much everything was going to cost, and the estimate was accurate. Everything was working to our satisfaction when they left at a cost that I thought was very reasonable. These guys will give construction workers a good name! A+

They are the only ones I’ve used. They did a very good job. They were very efficient and reasonable. They did everything they needed to do. It took them about an hour to fix it. The workers were a father and son. They did it very quickly. I was happy with what they did.

After an initial scheduling snafu, (Gary called late on the 17th Dec -the original install date - and apologized for the mix up) Gary and his son came out and installed the new door promptly and efficiently on the newly scheduled day. The door works great.

They had to order some parts and there were a number of problems with the manufacturer, and delays, but they stuck with it, and in the end, we got the doors fixed before the first snow storm. Nice, fast, knowledgeable, and reasonable.

Several years ago we had Gary at S&S replace our garage doors, after getting a number of estimates. We chose them because they seemed honest, knowledgable and fairly priced. I was very pleased at that time. Gary even dissuaded us from replacing some of the other infrastructure (motor, rails) at that time as they were functioning fine. When we had a more recent problem with a bent rail, I left Gary a message and he stopped by the next day and realigned/ fixed the problem for us so that the door would close again. Great responsiveness --- I'm a fan of this family run business. Happy to recommend to others.

The crew did a beautiful job. I was impressed their knowledge, efficiency, the caliber of the equipment, and the totally satisfactory results. I haven't had any problems since the installation.

When we first called Gary, he was nice enough to say we didn't need him and that we could fix it ourselves. He talked us through it and we did what he said. It worked for a while, but then it broke again. When it happened for the third time we called him and he came out and fixed it for good at a very reasonable price.

Gary solved my problem over the phone. He called me 3 times to be sure the solution worked. He could easily have come out and charged for the service. I will definitely call him when we need work done.

Went great- took a little longer then I hoped to have the doors ordered but between their vacation and ours it was tough to schedule. Doors came out great and Gary could not have been nicer to deal with. Gave me an estimate over the phone right after he looked at the job and we picked the doors we wanted.

Gary fixed our double garage door that recently broke. The door weighs a ton and it's very old. Gary did a wonderful job, was super quick, and showed up on time as promised. He even diagnosed my problem over the phone by asking the right questions. He knew just what parts to bring. He was a very nice gentleman. And very reasonably priced. Will absolutely use him again and I have no reservations about recommending him. He was GREAT!!

Great! Gary figured out that I could put an overhead door opener in my "new" garage despite the low clearance. Install went smoothly and have not had any problems with it.

My wood garage door needed replacing as it had become warped over the years. I decided to go with a black standard + Garaga steel door after visiting Door Systems' showroom in Framingham. Gary sent me to this showroom (his competitor) because he seemed more concerned about my education than locking down the business. My garage has limited head-room and limited back-room which made this a more difficult installation. S&S quote was about $100 higher than Door Systems, but I felt more comfortable with Gary's game plan of going with a double-track setup as oppposed to Door System's recommendation of getting a 6' 9'' door instead of 7'. I was a very happy customer of S&S from start to finish.

I can assure you I will be calling "Gary", anytime in the future I have a problem with my garage door, that requires professional service. I will be recommending this company to my friends and family! So refreshing to find an honest and trustworthy Company. I was "scammed" a few years ago from a "fly by night" garage door company and was one of the reasons I signed up with "Angies List"

In our first call Gary suggested some self help, so he assuaged our fear that he would want to replace the whole garage door without even looking at it. Our own efforts did not solve the problem. No sooner did we call him back, than he was here the next morning. He analyzed the problem and oiled the track and adjusted the springs in no time, then fixed the safety cable we had never properly installed. What a relief! Now we can open the door without breaking our backs!

My garage door opener abruptly stopped working a couple of days ago. I remembered that some years ago Gary Scalese, who I found on angieslist, took care of a minor repair for us free of cost. I was glad to see that he was still on the list and I called him. He returned my call in a couple of hours, made a tentative diagnosis of the problem based on my description, and came out the next day to look at it and give me a price quote. He came back the very next day and did the job, did not require an advance payment, just left the remote transmitters, the warranty paperwork and the bill (no change in the quoted price) for me. It was like magic! I am so impressed by their promptness, professionalism and service. Thank you very much!

They were very knowledgeable, professional and conscientious. Due to the weak existing garage structure, the newly installed door started to come off the garage framing. They responded to our call quickly and fixed the problem with no extra cost. They are the best!
