S & S OVERHEAD DOOR CO

One of our garage doors would only open about 3' then stop. I tried my best to fix it, but had no luck. I found S&S here on Angie's, gave them a call and left a message. Gary called back the same day. He game out a couple of days later and adjusted some of the wheels/rollers (whatever they're called) and lubricated things. He left the bill and was on his way. All this was done without us having to be there which was fantastic! All-in-all it was one of the easiest home repair experiences I've had. No fuss, and excellent results!

Was able to arrange for service very quickly on a cold winter day. The repair was quick, efficient and less expensive than we thought it would be.

When Gary initially came out to give a quote on replacing the doors, he freely helped troubleshoot some problems with door operations and he was also very down to earth and prompt with price quotes. Gary was very professional and did a great job of communicating what was needed, and promptly installing the doors once we ordered. Very pleased throughout.

Gary was great. We had a very old garage door mechanism (20+ years). He came out a few years and adjusted the motor for free. When we recently had another issue with the door, we called him. He returned my call right away and came out the next day. He diagnosed the problem. We discussed a few options and their respective pricing -- he could fix the problem or we could put in a new mechanism. It was more cost effective to put in a new mechanism, which he did. All in all, it was a great experience. He was knowledgeable, prompt, and very nice. I would highly recommend him.

They were here at the time he said, they didn't leave any mess, and removed the old motor. They were very professional and went about their work. He wanted the full amount when finished without any discussion before. No credit cards accepted only check or cash.

A!!! Very courteous and reliable. He had to call many times to reach me and was always pleasant and informative. Kept me up to date on the progress of the project. He had to deal with a blown fuse and resourcefully sought the aide of a neighbor rather than abandon the job. Came back at a later date when I had trouble (my fault, it turned out) with the door. Didn't charge me for extra visit.

I called and got the owner, Gary, who came out to repair a broken safety cable and spring on my electric garage door. He knew exactly what it was from my description over the phone and did the job for the initial quote. Door works fine and I'll use him again for any other garage door issues.

The garage door man had come earlier in the week, and had given me an estimate, after looking at the garage, came back when he said he did and installed the garage door opener.

The door is much better door than we had. He works alone and he is very good. He came on time and got the work done in one day. He cleaned up when he was finished. They were recommended to us by someone who was very pleased with him and we were too.

Our automatic garage door was making a loud noise and "catching" every time it closed. We called Gary and he came right over the next day. He fixed the problem and performed standard servicing: oiled both doors, tightened some bolts, and both doors now open and close nearly silently.

We originally thought we were going to need to replace both doors and hardware from the ground up; a job that was going to cost several thousand dollars. Other contractors were ready to replace everything sight unseen. Gary came over and insisted that we only needed to replace one motor and limited hardware for a total cost of $500.00. Seeing how much money he was saving us I insisted back that we should replace both motors and call it a day. He was prompt and reliable and a nice upbeat person to deal with. GREAT JOB!

He showed up on time, was very efficient and extremely reasonable in price for all of the problems he found and fixed. Our doors worked much better, are stable and safe, hang straight and don't squeak.
