Gary fixed the garage door and didn't charge us for his work. He came out on a Saturday morning because we couldn't be home on a weekday. He quickly figured out that the problem was a setting on the motor -- the door was set to stop too low, and that was causing it to get stuck. He adjusted the setting with his screwdriver, and announced that he wouldn't charge us because he "hadn't done any work." A lot of folks will charge you just for coming to your house, so I was really impressed with his generosity. He's also very personable and explains what he is doing while he is working, so there is no mystery to his work. I highly recommend this company.

I felt he did a very good job. I also thought he was reasonable with the price. I felt very comfortable working with this company. I did not have any problems with this company and never had to call them back.

Excellent. They are extremely punctual. What's better, they initially provided an estimate of about $350 for the job and came under at $290. This was probably one of the best Angie list experiences I've had!

Gary and his son Justin came within 30 minutes of my speaking to them on the phone. He fixed the problem which was the plate and also installed a keypad for access from the outside without a remote. Gary showed me how to reprogram the remote and even programmed it for me. He was only here to fix the door but happened to have the keypad with him when I asked about it and he installed it at no extra charge (just the cost of the keypad itself). I would definately recommend them and use them again!

Great! Gary and his son showed up on time, did the work quite quickly, door operates very smoothly now. $90 may seen like a bit much for one pulley, but he gave me the option to replace the other one, but it was not broken so I declined. I feel that if more work needed to be done, he would have included it in the $90. He's totally worth the money!

They repaired the spring on the garage door and adjusted it so it worked better than ever.

We had a very positive experience with Gary / S&S doors. Gary was helpful and took care of all the details. He left the place clean and took everything away when he was done. We a problem with one of the weather strips tearing a few months later. We called and it was taken care of a few days later - no charge.

I had difficulty communicating with them. I think the owner had a very heavy accent. I asked them to send me a picture of the garage door because it was very difficult to make a decision without seeing it and I never received it. He mentioned that he had left a brochure at the house but I never saw anything. At the end of the day it was very difficult to communicate with him in a clear and concise manner. It was a small family owned company.

He came to fix pulleys on a garage door that had gone bust. Then he programmed my car to connect to the doors. He also advised me to buy a certain dual garage door opener, which cost me $16. He looked at my online printout and told me it was the right one. He also needed safety cables and reminded me that since we had already pay for labor, it would only cost $8 more. So I asked him to do it. It was great. He even said he would come back to reprogram the garage door for free once I got the new opener but I said its ok - nt to woory, I would do it myself.

His work was great. He was very prompt.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. SEAMLESS. NO PROBLEMS FOR ME AND THE DOORS STILL LOOK GREAT TWO YEARS LATER...

My wooden garage door was wrecked from water in the March floods: the old wood just fell apart at the bottom. Clearly, the door had to be replaced. I called S&S first because of their high Angie's list ratings, and because they're close to me. Gary was very good about returning calls, and prompt about coming for an estimate. He had brought booklets for the doors he recommended, asked about my preferences (material, color, window/no window, style), explained the pros and cons, gave me his recommendations and gave me the estimate on the spot. The estimate sounded good to me, so I said "let's do it!". He explained that he needed to order the door because mine was not a custom size, and that it should take 2-3 weeks. Right on schedule, he called 2-3 weeks later and suggested installing the door 2 days later. He and his son Justin were right on time, installed the door, added weatherproofing features such as a rubber thingie on the bottom and vinyl thingies on the sides. He and Justin cleaned up, including sweeping the garage, hauled away the trash and the old garage door. The new door looks fantastic, and the whole experience simply couldn't have gone any better. These guys really deserve a mention on the Page of Happiness!

I called them and it was same day service. He fixed it for the amount he said he would and he did it in less than an hour.

Gary is great, I call him, tell him where the doors are and what the problem is. He is usually there that day or the next and by the time I meet him, the door is usually fixed. There is no up selling he just does what he has to do to make the door work like new again. I have used others previously from other companies and no one can compare to what Gary does.

It went great. I called Gary and left a message this morning (7/15) and he responded the same day and came out the same day. He was very polite, friendly and professional. He explained why the opener wasn't working and he explained how the door opener mechanism works. He was very thorough. We will definitely use him again.

I like the man and the work he did. A very polite man who was also very efficient. Now that someone has broken the opener, I will definitely be calling him again to fix it. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone needing a new garage door, and/or a new garage door opener.

I called the company over the weekend, and he called back the next morning. He asked a few questions about the problem and told me how to fix it myself. I didn't expect it would be that simple because I had previously called another company that had failed to fix the problem. He could have charged me more than $100 just to come to my house, but he chose not to. I'll certainly call him again if I need to have my garage door fixed.

Gary was quick to call back, came over the next day and gave an estimate which was very fair, and then came back the next morning to do the job, which was completed in about 2 hours. Very kind, very professional, good work. I would definitely recommend this company and I would definitely use them again.

Old wood garage door failed, crashed and split. Called owner Of S&S, Gary, who had repaired old garage door several years before. At the timew he advised door probably had limited life left. With failure in February he advised he had a 7 window white door in stock which he could install in 2 days, quoted a price of about $2500.00 installed with all ccessories. Job completed on time on budget. Outstanding contractor.

Great experience, no issues whatsoever. The provided a timely quote, presented several options and explained them throughly, and showed up on time. The work was done well and quickly. We are very happy with Gary and his crew and would use them again.

these guys are great. Great customer service -- but I don't mean "they're slick and smarmy, and they charge a lot." I mean: "they get the job done; they care about your time; they're hard-workers, friendly but not b.s." Perfect.

They did a fine job and it has been working ever since.
