Designs In Blinds & Drapes

I wanted to have two Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds in my kitchen replaced because they were over 10 years old and were stained. Chris from Designs in Blinds and Windows scheduled an appointment to come and measure the windows within a couple of day of my initial call. He arrived on time and was very helpful and professional. I needed the blinds to be installed before an event at my house a few weeks later. The blinds arrived and were installed by Bob within 2 and a half weeks. We were very pleased with the whole experience and are happy with our new blinds. I will plan to use the company again for window treatments in my Cambridge office.

Chris arrived to measure and go over options for replacement blinds. Friendly, informative, and very professional. Mike (owner) and Bob came by a few weeks later to install the blinds. They arrived early. Install went very smoothly. Blinds look great. These guys are a rare find...great customer service at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

We contacted Mike at Designs in Blinds and had a fantastic experience all around. Mike came to our home and offered a wealth of information and suggestions for our project and aesthetic. We then met him at his Waltham showroom after normal business hours and made our final decisions for floor to ceiling drapes on four windows and roller shades on six windows. Installation was scheduled once the fabric arrived and the work was beautifully completed. I would highly recommend Designs in Blinds for any window treatment project.

I will certainly use Designs again. I just wish she upholstered!

Only 1 person came and it took him about 5 hours to complete the job.

They came to measure and do providea a quote. They were knowledgeable and patient. Price good and as quoted. Installation was on time with no issues. Some windows were not installed on time, so they came back later to finish with no extra charge.

The process was awesome. I stopped by the showroom and described what I was looking for - I have not had anything on my sliding glass door for the past 11 years and the sun had bleached my hardwood floor by the door. I just had the floors refinished and needed to keep the sun out, but still have the view of the woods. My door also had a transom window above it that I did not want to cover. After, much discussion the salesman came up with a great solution which he confirmed when he came to give me the estimate. Because of the type of door I had and the limitations of the transom, I bought a roll up shade in a cream color through which I could still see my woods, but the sun exposure is limited. Rolled up you do not see the shade since it sits between the transom window and the sliding glass door. The installer came on time for the appointment and did a great job! Designs in Blinds had installed all my top down bottom up blinds 11 years ago and I was so pleased that this experience was as wonderful now as it was then.

Michael is a pleasure to work with. He's a true professional and pleasant to work with. All materials and labor have been supplied as promised and on time.

Didn't hire the company since they were unable to install at the height needed.

The outcome was excellent. They were courteous, on time and I have no complaints at all. They installation was done like they said they would and the installer was very courteous and fine. The installation was free with the purchase of the blinds. I would use them again and in fact I was thinking if ordering some more blinds from them when I had the money.

The installation in the dining room was going to be tricky, but their salesman and I worked together to find a solution. I am pleased with the shades and the installation, but even more I am pleased by their service. Recently I had a problem with one of the living room shades and they came out and fixed the problem at no charge. They said to call again if the problem recurred.

At 915a on 4 November, delayed only slightly by traffic, Michael and David arrived to install the blinds. Just after noon -- as required by our schedule, they were finished with another beautiful installation: right on time and right on estimate. A second time around with Designs in Blinds was even better than the first!

They were outstanding. They showed up on time. They had everything fir perfectly. They were very neat. They did not scratch anything. They took down what was there and installed theirs. It was exceptional service. They are competitive with their price. They are really responsive. When they tell you they are coming to do the install they come on time and give you an estimate of how long they are going to be there. They were actually done early. We looked at a few other companies and their price was right in line with what we expected. But they were worth it for their service and I would have paid more because they were so good.

So far so good , I do NOT foresee any problems with this company and will definitely do business with this Co. again

They came and measured. I showed up in their showroom and they showed me different styles. I had already had these on my windows and I needed new ones as they were about eighteen years old. They measured them very accurately. I wanted them very tight. They showed me a different style that I hadn't considered and I ended up going with that. I enjoyed working with them. They were great. The quality of their services and their professionalism were very good. I would use them again.

This was great! I described the color/style I wanted and he brought perfect swatches to the house. I had previously received a quote from Calico Curtains for over $5,000. He helped me choose styles of valences that would cut the price down but still look elegant. He had to work with one very difficult window which includes a door to a balcony and designed a valence so the door could open. Overall, friendly, professional and the draperies are elegant and beautiful. I would definitely use again.

At the recommendation of my decorator, I contacted Designs in Blinds & Drapes and asked specifically for Michelle. Michelle was very lovely, easy to work with and had good ideas. She helped me select fabric for 7 shades in our master bedroom and 3 in a guest bedroom. I also purchased mini blinds for two bathrooms. The work was done on time and installed very professionally by their staff. The installer also remounted a window treatment I brought from our former home at no cost.

We went to call them about my blinds because they had them for months. Other then that, the company was fine. The company was very polite. They are a wonderful company. The blinds were cleaner than when I gave them to the company.

I dealt with Chris Maitre (sales rep). Chris was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and concise. After consulting with two other companies, I decided to give the business to Designs in Blinds because of the quality of Chris' service, the quality of the products and the fair price. However, the good service stopped with Chris. I had to call the main office many times to confirm the installation dates and times. When the installer came over, he discovered that he did not have one blind, so he said that he'd have the main office call me to determine an additional installation date. The main office never called me. I had to call them 3 times and leave messages over and over again before someone got back to me. I was not pleased with their installation, responsiveness, etc., so I called Chris to express my opinion. Fortunately, Chris is very good at what he does and he took care of everything right away (he came over personally one evening to install the last blind).

They were very accommodating and took care of all of concerns.

Overall process was very easy. We went into Waltham(showroom) and after speaking w/Chris, set up a home consult w/him. He arrived as scheduled and measured all of our windows and brought the desired products with him We choose the specific color of the blinds and features. When the blinds were ready, Chris set up a time to meet with us and he & Bob arrived on time and very quickly replaced all of our blinds and cleaned up after themselves. Chris was very professional and we enjoyed working w/him...as he made it very easy for us to make the right decision!

The staff was knowledgeable and pleasant and very attentive to detail. The work was done beautifully. After the shades were installed, the hardware required minor adjustment, which was performed promptly and efficiently. The foam of the window seat cushion initially seemed overly firm, and this was replaced cheerfully with a softer grade. The entire experience was most satisfactory.

Excellent results - Mike came to the house right on time for our appointment. He provided recommendations and even offered me different options on where I could save money. He was extremely professional and helpful. His installation was quick and clean and I am very happy with the end result. I intend to have him back to do fabric treatments on certain of the windows. To anyone who is reading this, you have to call Mike if you're looking for window treatments. I did a lot of research and had several estimates, and his prices, quality and professionalism beat everyone else by miles! If they had higher ratings than A, I would use them.

Everything went well except the clean up leaves something to be desired. There is plaster dust and crumbs on the floor where the curtain rod was attached to the wall. There are drapery threads all over the floor. I found a piece of cardboard packing on the floor under the bureau. There are extra holes drilled into one window frame where they didn't check first for the proper mounting position of the shade. The shade was ordered to cover the entire window and overlap onto the window frames. They drilled into the inside of the frame and left the two sets of holes there without filling them in.

We had a great experience. Not only did he help us with the design but he steered us away from unecessary expenses. For example, he encourage to keep both the rods and wooden blinds we inherited from the previous homeowners to cut expenses. Likewise, he suggested that we use Pottery Barn hold backs, which he installed, because they were more economical. The window treatments are just beautiful. They really add to every room. Michael was helpful, professional, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Designs in Blinds. It is not the cheapest route, but it is worth it.
