It turned out excellently. They have done work in the past and it is ongoing. I have been pleased with them.

They were at least 45 minutes late (I eventually left to go to work, very frustrated). I only found two business cards in my mailbox when I returned home from my half day at work (I used half a day's vacation time for nothing to meet with them). Please call...or answer your phone...when you are late. I would never hire someone in my office who was late for an interview..the same goes for contractors, especially when there is a lot of competition.

I called twice to this company and they said they would have someone out. They set an appointment and the contractor never showed up I have made attempts to call this contractor again and he has not responded.

I made an appointment for Jack Kelly to come at 11am on a Thursday. He didn't show up, and no one called to say he would be late. At around 1:30, I called and left a message. Someone called back at 2pm, said that he got tied up with some things in the morning, and asked if I could reschedule for the next day. She was not as apologetic as I would have expected. We rescheduled the next day for 11am. No one showed up, no one called. I called at around 2pm, left a message and never heard back from them.

I contacted Bartlett Tree Experts and scheduled a time to meet with Mr. Kelly. Our original appointment was October 24th at 1 pm. He never showed and didn't call to reschedule. I called Bartlett Trees and was told that Mr. Kelly had been detained at court later than he had originally thought. I know that things happen, so I was open to scheduling another appointment. I was told by Sharon (the receptionist) that he would definitely come out and be able to make an assessment of the tree that needs to be cut and give me an estimate. At this point, there is yet to be any follow-through. I have contacted Sharon several times and each time, I have been told that Mr. Kelly does not have an estimate. Today was my last phone call...it is November 16th and according to my conversation with Sharon, Mr. Kelly still has no estimate and has not come by to look at the tree. I do not recommend Bartlett Tree Experts...absolutely no follow-through!

I have had them out to check on other trees before. They do a good at what they do. They are nice and really care about nature and tree preservation. I think they are a little high but the cost is worth the work that they do.

I became so frustrated with Bartlett, and their local rep., Jack Kelly, that I have now hired another company. Jack Kelly constantly promised to attend to problems by a specific date, the date would come and go, many phone calls back and forth and he'd come up with a new date and still the work wouldn't be done. He strung me along for more than 6 weeks to remove two large dead branches on an old beech tree that his company had already pruned in early February, assuring me at that time that he would be able to tell which branches needed to come down. When spring came it was clear the branches were dead and at first Jack said they didn't need to come back to remove them. The final straw came when I got a bill for other work I had been asking Jack to take care of also for weeks, when in fact the work hadn't actually been done! Jack never came to the property to look and expressed surprise when I called to tell him it wasn't done. He said he thought his crew had done the job.

I have canceled my contract with Bartlett. My first complaint concerns the Newton Office s and, specifically, Mr. Kelly s failure to respond to a request that he examine a tree and give me some advice. In the three weeks since May 14, 2007, I placed seven calls to Bartlett's Newton Office or to Mr. Kelly's cell phone. He does not return calls and has failed to show up for an appointment. (The Newton Office, which gives out his cell phone number, says that he does not listen to messages left on it. Why give out the number? one wonders. I have also left numerous messages for him at the Newton Office.), My second complaint concerns driver carelessness. Early this spring, when it was very muddy the Bartlett tank truck sprayed our hemlock hedge. In the process, it drove up on the grass between the sidewalk and the road, leaving a trench about sixty feet long and six inches deep. I had to rent a roller to roll out the turf and completely reseed the area.

They did their work quickly and well. Their price was very competitive.

HAVING LET MY TREES AND SHRUBS GO AFTER BEING DISSATISFIED WITH THE PRICE AND RESULTS FROM ANOTHER COMPANY, I CALLED BARTLETT TREE EXPERTS WITH SOME TREPIDATION. MY EXPERIENCE, HOWEVER, WAS FANTASTIC. THE ESTIMATOR WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL, AND GAVE ME A LOT OF INFORMATION AND DETAIL ABOUT MY OPTIONS AND HIS RECOMMENDATIONS. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE COMPARED TO WHAT I HAD PAID BEFORE, AND THE TWO MEN WHO CAME TO DO THE WORK WERE TERRIFIC. THEY WERE REAL PERFECTIONISTS AND EXTREMELY DILIGENT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE.

MARK BRUNO WAS PROMPT TO ANSWER MY REQUEST FOR SERVICE. THE EMPLOYEE AND EMPLOYERS KNEW WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. THEY DID IT CORRECTLY. SO MANY TREE COMPANIES JUST HACK AWAY. THESE GUYS KNEW NOT TO CUT THE COLLAR OF A DEAD LIMB. THEY WERE ALSO WILLING TO DO WORK WHERE THEY HAD TO CLIMB INTO THE TREE. OTHER COMPANIES DIDNT WANT TO DO THE WORK AS THEIR TRUCK COULDNT GET CLOSE ENOUGH. THEY ARE SPRAYING MY TREES TWICE YEARLY NOW TO CONTROL ADELGID.

POLITE BUT NON-RESPONSIVE. CALLED DESCRIBING THE TREE WORK I NEEDED DONE, AND CONFIRMED THEY WORK IN MY COMMUNITY. GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE 2 DAYS LATER. THE MORNING OF THE APPOINTMENT, GOT A VERY APOLOGETIC PHONE CALL SAYING THEY WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL SINCE ONE OF THEIR TRUCKS BROKE DOWN. I ACCEPTED THEIR OFFER TO COME BY IN MY ABSENCE, REVIEW THE WORK REQUIRED, LEAVE A WRITTEN ESTIMATE, AND CALL ME TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS. SO FAR SO GOOD. FIVE DAYS LATER, NO CALL, NO WRITTEN ESTIMATE. I CALLED AGAIN, AND SPOKE WITH THE GENTLEMAN WHO WAS TO DO THE ESTIMATE. I REMINDED HIM OF MY REQUEST AND MY CONCERN WITH THE SAFETY HAZARD OF THE TREE. HE SAID HE WOULD COME BY WITHIN 2 DAYS AND LEAVE AN ESTIMATE. I'M STILL WAITING. VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.

DID NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY DID NOT GET BACK TO ME WITH AN ESTIMATE. CALLED TO INQUIRE AND WAS TOLD THEYD GET A PROPOSAL OUT, THEN NOTHING.

I WAS NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED DONE WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY SINCE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A COUPLE OF TREES. THE SALESMAN CAME OUT AND SPENT TIME WITH ME GOING OVER MY PROBLEMS, MAKING SUGGESTIONS AND ENDED UP SAVING ME A LOT OF MONEY AND SAVING MY TREE. I USED THE BEVERLY FARMS OFFICE SINCE THEY COVER MY AREA (REVERE). THE SALESMAN (BOB) WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THE GUYS WHO DID THE WORK WERE EXCELLENT AND ASKED FOR MY INPUT. I CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I PLAN ON USING THEM AGAIN IN THE SPRING. I HAD CALLED SIX OTHER COMPANIES WHO DIDNT SEEM TO WANT TO HELP AND WAS VERY LUCKY TO EVENTUALLY FIND THESE GUYS. MY NEIGHBORS WERE SO IMPRESSED THAT THEY ARE USING THEM TOO.

AFTER SIGNING A CONTRACT, THEY JUST SHOWED UP TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW THEY WERE COMING. LUCKILY I WAS HOME AND COULD SHOW THEM THE TREES THAT NEEDED THE WORK.

THEY WORK ON A PROJECT BASIS, SO DON'T EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO MULTIPLY A RATE BY A NUMBER OF HOURS IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND YOUR BILL. THEY HAVE REALLY GOOD PEOPLE AND THEY DO REALLY GOOD WORK.
