We were planning on replacing laminate flooring in the kitchen of our 1951 home and the tile installers suspected there might be asbestos. S&S provided a lab where I could take a sample of the floor to be tested. After the test came back positive on Monday afternoon they were able to schedule removal for first thing Wednesday morning. They assisted me with getting the required abatement waiver as you typically must wait 2 weeks before you can remove asbestos. S&S showed up at 7am, started work promptly and were finished by noon. I would definitely recommend their service.

This family owned and run business is salt of the earth. Completely professional, on time, grateful for the work, and they did a stellar job not only removing the asbestos, but cleaning up afterwards. They sealed the basement tight, protected the washer dryer down there, washed the basement walls and floors, and coordinated the inspectors. It was seamless and just great service. Thank you

We had small residual amounts of asbestos-contaning insulation along the lengths of our cast iron heating pipes in the basement. When called, a representative from S&S came to the house within 24hrs for an initial assessment. We received the service quote via email by end of business that day. Scheduling was flexible, the service crew was prompt, and the work was done in a high quality manner. The crew was neat, professional, able to answer questions, polite and got their work done in a timely manner. Equally important, whatever items they had to move in the basement was done carefully and gently.

Thee company did an amazing job. They showed up early. They walked me through everything that they were going to do. They did the work in less than an hour. But the clean up was what was most impressive. It was spotless. I have never seen my basement so clean. They truly went above and beyond. You could tell they took pride in their work. I could hear them in the basement talking (thin floors) while they were walking and their conversations were very appropriate . Nothing you would have to worry about if kids were around.

Fast, inexpensive and painless. They are a very honest company. They also took a quick look at the rest of vents to see if there was any obvious asbestos.

The company was very helpful on the phone. They came quickly and gave us a fair estimate. They seemed really knowledgeable about the process. We were having our kitchen floor removed and they made sure to also mask off the basement below to make sure no dust was spread to the basement (some other companies we got quotes from said "maybe we'll do it, not sure" - so we weren't very comfortable with that). On the day of the removal they came right on time, set everything up and finished in the amount of time estimated. We found a small amount of unexpected flooring they could not remove because of a corner cabinet but they offered to come back in the future and remove it for us if we ever take that cabinet out. We had the job inspected for air quality to make sure there was no asbestos, prior to them removing all their equipment, and everything came out fine. We are still waiting on the final letter regarding the abatement being completed but they did let us know it would be approx. 8 weeks. They definitely did the job they were hired to do and we appreciated the service.

When calling the company the response on the phone is friendly and helpful.The process and detail of lead time requirements was explained (notice for inspectors etc). The team arrived to do the work at the time stated. They were more than helpful preparing the area and left everything clean and organized when they were finished. They explained the timing of receiving documentation of proper removal and disposal. I have no suggestions for how the experience could have been improved. Both owners and the staff we met were professional and courteous.

They gave a free estimate, which came in lower by almost half than my other free estimate. They arrived on time and finished up earlier than expected. They moved the items in my basement around as needed and built plastic walls around them. They washed down the basement when they finished, and left it cleaner than it was when they arrived. Good communication throughout.

It went excellent. S&S came in a day earlier than scheduled due to an opening in their schedule. They were prompt, professional, and courteous. Once the work was completed, they walked me though the area explaining what they had done. I highly recommend them.

Came on time. Very professional, helpful and friendly. For an extra fee (included in the $3400.00 cost), they completely moved everything out of the cellar for me. They were quick and careful. While I had to leave before the actual asbestos removal, I felt very confident I was in good hands. If I don't add to this post, you can assume the job went without a hitch.

It was a free estimate. They were very responsive. When I emailed them about getting an estimate, they got right back to me and they were here on time.

I thought they did a very good job. They were in and out quickly. When the inspector came to check it out she said everything looked fine. They were very sociable and agreeable. Their price was a little higher than another company I had checked out, but I chose this company because of their positive reports on Angie’s List.

They removed all of the tiles from my home. They were wonderful. They showed up on time and were very professional and the price was reasonable. I would certainly use them again in the future if need be.

Need to get asbestos pipe insulation removed in advance of converting boiler from oil to gas. S&S came out to see the job the day after I called. Wrote up the estimate right on the spot and gave me two options: just removing the insulation right near the boiler ($450) or removing everything ($1100 for about 60 feet). I chose the entire removal. They called and scheduled the appointment for about three weeks out. The day before, I got a reminder call telling me that they would be there at 7am. On the morning of the job, the truck was outside at 6:20am. I went out and told them they could start now if they wanted. They did and were finished by 7:50am. They brought me down cellar to inspect their work before they left. Everything was great. Gave them their check and the whole thing was done. I got their name and number from my plumber before I rejoined Angie's List. I was happy to see that they had a good rating. Now I know why they do. I highly recommend them.

The company showed up on time for both the estimate and the work. During the abatement process, they discovered another section of asbestos in the basement and fixed that also without increasing the price quoted to us. The job was very neat and professional looking and passed inspection.

Bill (he and his brother own the company) originally came over to give an estimate. It took us a while to cear the basement, but once we finally did we made an appointment. Bill's office called the day before to confirm. Bill and his team showed up as scheduled, built temporary containment walls, removed all asbestos including behind a wall, scrubbed all areas and arranged for independent test. My wife had to leave before the job was finished, so she told Bill she would leave a check for him. Bill said he would return that evening after we had seen the work to make sure everything was satisfactory and we could pay him then. The work was perfect! The basement was spotless. This was the second time we have used S&S. I don't anticipate needing their services again, but I would highly recommend them to others.

I would give them five stars. They were great. They were quick and they did everything. They came back to do the installation of one of the pipes which was hidden by the garage door. They came back and fixed it free of charge. The company was professional and quick. They returned all the calls and they were easy to work with. They did more than what was quoted originally for the same price.

S&S was a subcontractor my plumber hired to do the asbestos removal on my boiler. I wanted to have them come out and give me an estimate to do the entire job. They gave me two options - 1) ecapsulation of the asbestos using fiberglass cloth or 2) removal. I went with the removal option since it would help the resale value of the house. They communicated very well and discussed everything that needed to be done, and what I needed to do to get prepared. The guys were professional, thorough, and were happy to answer any questions I had. They even cleaned and left behind a small piece from the old boiler for my workshop walls. I was very pleased with the job they did and I would recommend them to anybody.

S&S was a little slow answering my e-mail inquiry, but from the moment I spoke with Chris everything was fine. Paul got here right on time, explained my options clearly and provided a written estimate within minutes. He also encouraged me to get the flooring tested before proceeding. I did, and the sample came back negative for asbestos! Honest company, unpretentious, good communication skills.

They are excellent. They are very responsive. They are very professional when they came out. They did a couple of estimates for me earlier. They worked with me as far as what my needs were and what they needed to have done. Before they do any work, they explain exactly what they are going to do. Periodically, they discussed with me what they are doing. They cleaned up everything. The workmen were very nice.

From start to finish it was an excellent experience. They were the 3rd estimate I received. The other two being $700 and $1200. They measured the area, precisely detailed what they would do, and all that it entailed, and gave me a written quote on the spot. They were right on time for both the estimate and the actual work. They were very professional, and explained the documents I would be receiving certifying correct disposal of the asbestos. I highly recommend S&S Abatement. I feel it was a job well done, and done right.

Very very well. Paul was great - very informative, helpful, straight-forward, good sense of humor. He came to the house to provide an estimate (two other companies just ballparked over the phone and were much higher). He explained the entire process to me, and made sure I understood the work every step of the way, which I really appreciated. They painted over the rafters where the board had been touching too, for added safety. I really appreciated that. They were in and out in about 2 hours, maybe 2.5. I was completely comfortable with the removal aspect. The only reason I give B instead of an A for Quality is due to clean-up – overall it was good but I later found a bunch of staples on the carpet they'd used to secure the covering (luckily I didn't step on them) and a sticky residue was left on the unfinished basement floor where they adhered the temporary enclosure's walls to the ground. Not major issues, but I can't say it was an A, more like A- or B+. But for the price, I'll do a little extra clean-up if necessary. They beat the other two estimates by several hundred dollars. I'd recommended them to others.

Overall excellent experience. They provided a detailed written estimate. They were flexible when I had to reschedule the work date, showed up on time, filed all the regulatory paperwork, contacted the inspector and left the place as clean as they found it.
