+ -1 moreGreat. They did everything they could to fit me in ASAP so I could get the plumbing work done. They called me the day before the scheduled date to make sure I was aware of the time they would be here and they were on time. They did remove all tiles and checked under the paneling to make sure they got of the asbestos. They were all very friendly and courteous. They even moved a few things that I didn't realize had to be. They were all very hard workers which I know is hard to find. I asked for a business card because if anyone I know has to have it done, I would defiantly give them their name.
Description of Work: I had to have all 550 Sq. Ft. of asbestos tiles removed from my basement floor in order to have plumbing work done.

+ -1 moreThe S&S team arrived on time and quickly got to work. They sealed up the work area as regulations require and removed all the asbestos insulation from the heating pipes as well as some fiberglass insulation. When they were finished cleaning up, our basement was cleaner than it has ever been! They did the necessary testing of the air to ensure that there were no remaining fibers and were finished by the end of the afternoon. I am so glad to have the asbestos gone from my house. S&S is clearly a very professional company and I would highly recommend them for asbestos removal.
Description of Work: Removal of 220 linear feet of asbestos pipe insulation in our large basement including a crawl space.

Within 2 days Paul had visited the house and provided a written estimate, with the option to remove the old furnace. Both were very reasonable. Chris in the office was very helpful in setting up the appointment. Due to scheduling and the permitting process the soonest appointment was several weeks away, although they were able to eventually come a week sooner. Communication was very good. I was on site for the first part of the job and saw them setting up the containment. Upon completion of the project everything was done and neat.
Description of Work: Removal of asbestos from an old oil furnace. Also removal of said furnace.

+ -1 moreWe were having a furnace installed, when we suspected there was an asbestos underlayment underneath where the old furnace (which was just removed) was. The installers understandably did not want to proceed until it was taken care of. Since this was in the middle of winter, we were obviously in a hurry to get this sorted. We called S & S Abatement, and they had someone out to our location within a few hours. Immediately, he was able to provide the opinion that it did not appear to be asbestos after all. However, in order to be sure, he said the material would need to be tested. He took a sample and bagged it for us so we could take it to a local lab that he referred us to. The lab confirmed his original assessment. As no asbestos removal was necessary, we were not charged. Nevertheless, we greatly appreciate the prompt service, and hopefully this positive review will help show our gratitude for taking the time to assuage our concerns.
Description of Work: The provider came by to do an emergency assessment/estimate, and correctly determined that suspected material was in fact not asbestos. He also bagged a sample and referred us to the nearest testing lab for a definitive evaluation.

My basement was cleaner after they arrived than it was before they arrived. Would recommend to everyone. Only complaint was that it was hard to get a call back from their office when I had a question prior to work starting.

Workmen arrived on time, finished in less time than original time estimate. They cleaned up area around where they worked. They arranged the inspection and will do all paper work. After job done Paul took time to explain what they did and assure they will follow up if needed. Couldn't ask for better service!!

+ -1 moreS&S was great! We bought a house that had asbestos on the pipes in the basement. We were worried that asbestos removal would be very expensive, but it was quite reasonable. S&S came out quickly to do a quote, and was very professional. We scheduled them a few weeks later for 7am to remove the asbestos, and they were here right on time, got the asbestos out, cleaned up, arranged for a follow-up inspection and left the place spotless. We were very satisfied!

+ -1 moreThey were extremely easy to work with, coming out promptly to evaluate the work. Office staff even helped by recommending a qualified individual to do testing to determine whether or not there were any other materials in the property which could be an issue due to the age of the house. On the day of the job they arrived exactly on time, performed all of the work quickly and cleanly, and followed up with the proper disposal documentation as promised. I have rated the price as "good" since I don't have a great point of reference for this type of service in general, but it was in line with the pricing from previous reviews. I am sure every job is different based on the exact conditions but to have the material properly removed and disposed of was well worth it. I definitely consider their service an "A" overall.
Description of Work: Removed and disposed of sheet vinyl floor containing asbestos. The layer of floor to be removed was under a newer layer of sheet vinyl with a 1/4 inch plywood layer. They removed the multiple layers of flooring, including the 1/4 inch plywood layer which was under the asbestos sheet vinyl, essentially removing two complete layers of flooring.

+ -1 moreS&S Abatement provided superb service. We are cleaning out my mother's house for sale and needed to remove asbestos in the basement prior to resale. I had 3 quotes and S&S's proposal was the lowest price, but more importantly in the pre-sale they provided excellent service. I organized the job by phone and email with Chris in the office as I live 100 miles from where the empty house is. Bill did an onsite check (I let him into the house remotely) and after we agreed on the proposal the team showed up on time and completed the job in one day. They left the basement clean and asbestos free. I'm working with many contractors to get the house in shape for sale, and this was one of the easiest transactions. Highly Recommended.

+ -1 moreThe crew did a great job removing old duct liner from the joists in the ceiling of our basement. The asbestos around pipes and an old boiler had been removed years earlier, but the duct liner remained because the previous owner and company that did the pipe/boiler work didn't think it contained asbestos. We used Hub testing to confirm the asbestos before calling for abatement quotes. S&S came in under the other competitor in the area and said they could do the job in 1 day as opposed to 3 from the other provider… They showed up on time and were very efficient. The pulled down some sections of sheetrock and were very careful with some old electrical and plumbing. They were very good about explaining what they were doing and going over the job. The basement has never looked so good with ceiling, walls and floor all cleaned. They also looked everywhere and found some sections of pipe in the foundation with asbestos and removed these too. We were very happy with the job.

+ -1 moreS & S was highly professional at every stage. They provided a clear estimate and carried out the abatement exactly as described. They took the time to explain all procedures and to answer any and all questions. They took no shortcuts (that to my understanding might be possible when carrying out a small project) but instead removed the asbestos with full containment. They also made certain that I had the chance to speak with the inspector who tested the air afterwards. The S & S staff also did a great job cleaning up and in fact left the basement far cleaner than when they started. In addition the S & S office was very easy to communicate with. All in all, I would highly recommend S &S.

Description of Work: We are moving into a new house and were concerned that there might be asbestos on some of the ceilings, in the kitchen linoleum, or in the tiles that we found underneath carpeting all over the second floor. My husband called S&S, and they advised him to get everything tested but also agreed to come look at things so that they'd be able to get an estimate done for us right away once we got our results. (There is a 10 day waiting period to get a permit for asbestos removal, and we are supposed to move in four weeks, so time was of the essence). They came the very next day, a Friday. On Monday morning we got the awesome news that there was no asbestos in anything. My husband called to let them know we wouldn't need their services and says that the receptionist was super nice and told him that they love to get phone calls like that! Although they didn't do any work for us, we were really impressed with how professional and nice they were and would certainly call in the future if we needed asbestos abatement.
