Orcutt Painting Co

This is the second project Orcutt Painting has completed for me (they recently painted my spare bedroom/office). This job was a little more complicated with one wall needing repair work to be done. I live in a house that was built in the 1920's that was refurbished and made into three condo's. The wall in the Master Bedroom is the original horsehair plaster and the wall had never been attached to the beams properly. The wall was fixed and prepared before painting. In addition, the windows had never been sealed/caulked properly with the existing frame, they removed the old sealant and re-sealed before painting. I found Orcutt Painting on Angie's List and chose them for two reasons: 1. I'm single and cannot afford to be out of work while someone paints my house. In reading previous reviews, I felt comfortable leaving the guys to work on the project while being at work. 2. They were not the cheapest bid for the initial project, but were also not the most expensive bid. Again, this matched previous reviews. Overall, I would highly recommend these guys. Turned up on time (in fact sitting in the car in front of my house until 8:00 am, the time we discussed them arriving), very polite and professional. Made sure the room was clean before leaving, and covered my hardwood floors to make sure there were no paint stains.

I contacted about 6-7 painters on Angies List, 4 or 5 wrote back and I had 4 painters come to my house for formal estimates. I chose Orcutt Painting because they communicated the best, offered a fair price, and had the time to paint. Without a doubt I would highly recommend using Orcutt painting. From the initial conversation, walkthough for the estimate, estimate, actual painting, and follow-up Rick and Greg were very professional and courteous. They are very trustworthy guys that provide high quality work at a great price. I use to paint for several summers in college so I am very particular in terms of cutting and quality. I was very happy with the work they performed. They were courteous with my new house and kept everything clean. Most importantly they came in on time. In terms of pricing, I did receive a crazy quote 40% more then them. And I didn't look for low quality low price painters. Also Greg was great providing updates on a daily basis and Rick contacted me when the job was done to make sure I was happy- they stand behind their work. I will definitely be using them again. Give them a call they are great to work with.

Rick was extremely professional and provided a thorough and detailed quote. His painting team were excellent! They were quick, clean and did a great job. We are extremely happy with the results and would certainly use them again. I would like to add that the painters were superb. The team led by Rawllins, including Mario and Milton, did a wonderful job and even consulted on design decisions that ultimately made the bookshelves look great. Lastly there was one obscure spot that was missed for second coat of paint and Rick, Rawllins, Mario and Milton got it fixed right away, no delay and no questions asked.

They showed up right on time, went over all of the details with me and got right to work. Rawllins and Mario, who handled the work, were both very punctual, respectful, and very easy to work with. They were very friendly and very receptive to my requests. This was a multi-day job, and they let me know in advance what to expect. Each morning, we reviewed the previous day's work and went over what would be done next. They finished two days earlier than I expected, and the new paint looks great!

Rick and his team were very responsive, professional and did a great job. They were eager to make sure that I was satisfied with the job (encouraged me to take a few days, review their work, and let them know if I saw any issues) and sent a worker back to touch up a few 'nits' that I notices. Overall a great experience!

His team was wonderful! They were neat, punctual, and did a really great job on the work. I would use them again in a heart beat. We had a previous painter do work on our house and it really highlighted what a nice job Rick's team team. Should we have more painting needs, we will certainly call him!

Rick Orcutt's men were excellent. They were very careful and very friendly. They arrived on time and stayed until each stage was completely done They took the old wallpaper away. And were always very neat which was important to us as we had just had our floors redone. They were the best painters we have ever had and we would be happy to use them again. Rich Orcutt himself is very knowledgable, friendly and has created a great team.

Couldn't be happier with the job Rick and Greg did. We wanted to have a bunch of wallpaper removed and painting done before we moved in, which made for a very tight schedule. They were able to start the day after we closed, and they were there every possible day until the job was done. As we were warned was possible at the the estimate, a few of the walls under the wallpaper were too damaged to paint. They coordinated with a plasterer to get the walls in shape and dry in time to finish the painting before the movers arrived. They even worked a Sunday morning to make our schedule. Along the way we made a number of adjustments and additions and they were always able to roll with it, and the incremental cost over the original estimate stayed reasonable. They also were very responsive both by phone and email which was important as we weren't living in the house at the time. All in all, the house looks great, and we have gotten many compliments since on their work.

From the very Start, Rick Orcutt was amazing. He is professional, punctual, responsive and a genuinely nice person. His painting crew is the best we have ever used. The job was done efficiently and as scheduled, and the finished product is fantastic. Cracks that needed repair in some ceilings and walls are now invisible. The crew was pleasant and did a great job. His price was a fair price for the amount of work and for the quality delivered.

This is our second time using Orcutt. The estimate was clear and easy to understand. The paint looks beautiful. This job involved a lot of trim, and every part is smooth and clean. The communication was straightforward, and the painters were polite and easy to have around the house. Everything was carefully protected from paint (including the clothes in a closet) and the painters left the rooms with the furniture back in place and every surface clean.

Rick's team was very professional and punctual. The guys showed up at 8am every day and got everything prepped and painted within a few short days. All of the trim lines are neat and straight, coats of paint are even with no lint, and any surface holes or defects were repaired. They did a great job protecting furniture and unpainted surfaces as well. The price isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. We had tried to cheap out on the job with a different company but canceled after one room due to how bad it was coming out. We're very happy with how great our house looks now.

Rick and his crew are outstanding. Rick called within one day of my request. He explained everything that would be done. Ricks crew started at 730 am every day and were here right at 730. They worked pretty much non stop. They were quiet and clean. Both gentleman were friendly and respectful,of my home. Any concerns I had during the job either of the workers fixed it. They work very independently, with no supervision. They are totally professional. Rick called everyday to check in. The quality of work is excellent. The Rooms came out great. One other thing that needs to be mentioned. I hired a wallpaper person to put up wallpaper in my hall. Rick asked me if he could call her to see how she wanted the walls prepared. I really appreciated that in Rick. Rick goes the extra mile. I got 3 estimates and rick's was the lowest by 700.00.

The painters were punctual, courteous and very professional throughout the entire job. The crew was also very detail oriented. The crew worked extremely hard!! Their work was very good. Actually outstanding!! The estimate was right on as I added some work to the original contracted job. These guys are really good. The foreman Ray showed up on the first day to explain to the crew what was being done and his wife had JUST had a baby the night before!! I was astounded! That is some serious work ethic!!!!!!!!! The crew informed me of what they would be doing each day and explained everything very well. They were very clean and thorough. I would definitely hire them again!

Great. Rick and his crew were courteous, punctual, and professional. They did a great job. They were very responsive to phone calls and worked well under tight time pressure, including working around movers and other contractors who were in the house at the same time. We hired them for two additional jobs after the first time they worked for us.

Team was on time every day and left the place spotless at the end of each day. Quality of painting was high end. Would use Orcutt Painting again and refer them to others.

We previously used Orcutt Painting to paint our entire house. We were very satisfied by the quality of their work and their punctuality, so we called them back when it was time to paint the newly finished basement. I called Rick in the middle of July '14. He asked how quickly we would need the work finished. As it was not an urgent project for us, we agreed to start Tuesday August 19. Rick estimated it would take three days. At the end of the second day, the work was completely finished. Being a basement, there are soffits. We had originally asked Rick's crew to paint the base of one of them white since it is more like a lowered ceiling. However, the white was really standing out. We asked the crew leader if they could change it to the wall color. No problem! On the second day, it was done. I would definitely call Rick back for any future painting projects.

The Orcutt team did a great job. Their pricing was very fair, and Rick took us through the process patiently and provided helpful advice. You could tell he cared about doing a quality job, and making us happy. They even finished the job slightly ahead of schedule. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to have the interior of their home painted.

I contacted Rick at Orcutt Painting due to the great reviews on Angie's List. I was moving into an apartment on short notice. I was given other referrals from friends who were all to busy to do the work that I needed done. Upon speaking to Rick, he made the adjustments to fit me in on short notice and got the job done. I can't say enough positive things about Rick and his company. I will definitely use his services again. There are to many companies out there that take your money, don't do a good job, and get upset if you complain. If all companies did business like Rick, there would be no need for Angie's List!! Thank you again Rick.

Orcutt Painting was very easy to work with. They were responsive and got right back to use about the job and providing a quote. It was a two day job, painting a first to second floor hallway and ceiling. The work done was of good quality and was performed for a reasonable price, given the high staging areas in the hallway.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Rick and his crew from the start to the finish. He gave me a free estimate within days of contacting him, which was right on target/slightly lower than the other estimates I received. He gave me an honest assessment of the work he thought needed to be done and was both very friendly and professional. We booked the job for about a month in advance and there were no surprises. The work started right on the agreed upon date and time - the only change to the schedule was that they offered to work over the weekend to finish the job a couple days earlier (an offer we jumped at). The quality of the work was great. The plaster repairs were done perfectly and the quality of the painting was also perfect. There were a couple things we noticed after the fact - a small crack in the paint on top of the ceiling and a couple small spots on the floor where the varnish was damaged from the tape. I hoped that Rick's crew might fix the ceiling, but had no expectations on the floor - we expect that there will be some wear and tear when work is done. I called Rick and he had his crew back out within the week to fix the paint and the floors. Everything looked perfect afterwards with no further surprises or concerns. The next time we need painting done we absolutely plan on working with Orcutt painting.

We have been a client of Orcutt Paint since 2001. During that time Orcutt is the only painter we have used for all the painting projects in our home. I have to say that this project was a little tricky. We had insulation blown into the walls of the home last March. As a result of removing clapboards for that project, we had extensive damage to the exterior paint. This was in addition to the normal bubbling and peeling which this house has experienced (unfortunately) for the past 25 years. Orcutt's plan was to computer match the color of the paint - not from the original paint cans, but as it appeared weather and faded on the house. They would then scrap off peeling paint and repaint these areas with the fresh paint. Note that we aren't talking about touch up here and there. I would guess after scraping the house, about 40% of it needed to be repainted. The paint match was perfect and the work done so well that you can't tell the difference between the old and the new paint. This approach saved us significant money. The only alternative was to repaint the whole house at a much greater cost. The people from Orcutt Paint are always courteous and professional. I always feel comfortable having them working in and on our home. They are very neat and clean up after themselves each day. It really isn't any trouble having them work around you as you go about your daily activities. Thank you again Rick and the Orcutt team. Rick and his crew did such a good job on our church painting project that I hired him to do my kitchen at home. I found Rick and his crew to be very professional and courteous. His crew showed up on time each day, completed the work on time, with high quality and at the estimated price. I would definitely recommend Orcutt Painting to anyone.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Rick and his painters. When we got our initial estimate (back in April) he was very clear and up front about how weather can cause serious scheduling issues with start date estimates, but we estimated a July-August start date and began during that time frame.The price was higher than some quotes we received and lower than others but the quality of the work was fantastic and there were no hidden fees. The painters arrived at 8am sharp each work day and power-washed, scraped and did minor repairs with wood putty prior to the primer and one coat of paint. The workers were efficient, there are no paint splatters on our patio and no leftover scrapings or other supplies on the lawn. Rick made sure to be in contact with us multiple times during the job to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We were happy with the outcome and would definitely recommend his services.

Rick was punctual for all of our meetings and willing to spend as much time as needed going over details and making sure all of our needs were met. He was warm and friendly as were all of his employees. Breno, the supervisor on our project, was skilled, patient and easy to work with. I would request him again in a heartbeat. We had both the exterior and interior of our home painted and it looks awesome. We've received lots of compliments on the paint job from contractors, carpenters and friends. Rick and his team promptly addressed any concerns I had and were always willing to change a color if I changed my mind or come back and touch up anything that needed extra attention. If you need your home painted, either exterior or interior, I highly recommend Rick and his team. They are friendly, efficient, easy to work with, responsive and their rates are reasonable. I couldn't be happier with their service!
