JLM Gutter Cleaning Service

Took some time to get a crew out to inspect for a free quote, but the team knew what they were about, demonstrated the scope and need for the job, and provided a rough estimate on the spot. A formal quote appeared a week later. The 50% deposit seemed a little steep but not out of line. Installation was scheduled quickly. Team arrived when promised, did the work quickly and competently, and cleaned up very well.

They gave us the $10.00 discount. They came out and did a very good job.

I have used JLM in the past & the service was fine. However, scheduling appointments with this company is very frustrating. First, it appears that the company doesn't really have an "operator". When you call, you have to choose to enter someone's personal voicemail, but you are not told who these people are. We left a message in the first voicemail last week, trying to schedule an appointment. No one returned the call. We then left a message in the second person's voicemail (which said she was "away from her desk"). No one returned the call. Later, when I called back, the person's message said she was out until next week. I decided at that point to find another company.

They never showed up. It was a bad experience.

Debris from the gutters was thrown down from the roof onto the ground below; not all of it was picked up. I explicitly asked what was going to be done with the debris and was told they would take it with them. After they left, I found it had been dumped at the rear of our garden, and contained half a dozen metal gutter spacers. I cleaned up the mess myself. Poor show.

Very happy. They responded to my inquiry right away and had a crew here the next day! They were on time, cleaned the gutters & flushed the downspouts quickly, and cleaned up the debris when they left.

Due to rain, they were running behind a couple of days, but the crew was very organized, professional, and quick. Good quality work - would definitely hire again.

I called multiple times and left at least two messages asking to get an estimate for gutter cleaning. After about two weeks (after I already had another company come out to do the work) I got a voice mail asking that I call them back.

I called on 3-9-06 and left a message. On 3-10-06 Louie returned my call and told me that it was going to be 95 dollars and that I could use Angie's List cupon. He also told me that somebody was going to come the next week to do the work. Next week came and went and nobody came. I left messages on 3-21-06 and on 3-22-06 informing that the work was not done. Louie returned my calls on 3-23-06 apologized and told me that apparently there had been a paperwork confusion but he personally was going to come and do the work on Tuesday 3-28-06. Tuesday came and went and I kind of gave up and decided I was going to try somebody else at a later time during the spring. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home on Thursday 30th and found a receipt from JLM, they have done the job!! I think they did a good job because now I don't have a cascade over my kitchen door when it rains.

We had hired JLM to clean our gutters previously, so when the leaves fell we called to set up a Fall visit. JLM was prompt in returning our calls and worked around our schedule to get the job done. When the weather did not cooperate, and snow began to fly, we just assumed the gutters wouldn't get cleaned before winter. I was impressed that JLM kept us on their schedule and when the weather was decent enough in December they arrived to clean the gutters. Most companies I feel would have packed it in when the winter arrived early, I was pleased to have JLM working for us.

Prompt in returning my call and scheduling the appointment. Job done per specifications.

This is the second time we hired JLM. The first time was to clean the gutters, this time we had them replace our old wooden gutters. We got a couple of quotes and theirs was good, but not the cheapest. But it was worth every penny. The team that came to the house was great. They did high quality work and cleaned up after themselves. They changed how the water was flowing across our roof to help extend the life of our roof. I would definitely recommend them!!

We called late in the season (around Thanksgiving) to get our gutters cleaned. Our message was returned the next day. The quote was $85 for a hip roof (we forgot about porches and it was snowy/icy when they cleaned). We scheduled an appointment and received a big snowstorm on the day of the appt. We received a follow up call later that week that a drive by had been done and it was still too snowy/icy. They came on a Sunday at 9am and cleaned the gutters. Brought their own hoses. Cleaned gutters into a bucket and trash cans (they supplied) and emptied debris onto their truck. Good clean up. Very professional and courteous guys. Neat appearance, clearly logo-ed truck, provided business card with written invoice. Only comment was that the unscheduled Sunday am appointment was a little startling as we were all still sleeping having been up with sick children--but we did wait until very late in the season to schedule--so we were happy to have it done.

They came exactly when they said they would, and did the job efficiently and professionally.

They were very efficient, and we are pleased with the work. They also did the one gutter on the garage for the above amount, and we received a coupon for Angie's List customers.

RETURNED CALL PROMPTLY. CAME WITHIN TWO DAYS TO CLEAN THEM. PAID EXACTLY WHAT WAS ESTIMATED. OVERALL, A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND WOULD USE AGAIN.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY TWICE NOW FOR GUTTER CLEANING, AND THEY ARE QUICK, RESPONSIVE, AND THOROUGH. I HAD HOPED TO HIRE THEM TO DO A GUTTER REPLACEMENT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY DISCOVERED THEY NO LONGER INSTALL WOOD GUTTERS. THEY WILL MAINTAIN THEM THOUGH, AND I WILL DEFINITELY CONTINUE TO USE THEM FOR THIS.

I RECEIVED A VERY COMPETITIVE QUOTE. LOUIE RETURNED MY CALLS PROMPTLY. THEY INSTALLED THE GUTTERS ON THE DAY PROMISED, WORKED ALL DAY, AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. LOUIE POINTED PROBLEMS WITH MY OLD GUTTERS AND TOLD ME HOW HE WAS GOING TO CORRECT THEM. THE PRICE ENDED UP BEING 25% HIGHER, DUE TO ADDITIONAL CHARGES, HOWEVER THE COST WAS STILL IN LINE WITH OTHER QUOTES. LOUIS AND CREW WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL THROUGHOUT.

ORIGINALLY QUOTED AT $1000, AND INSPECTED THOROUGHLY BY JLM, THE PRICE SOMEHOW INFLATED FIRST BY $300 DUE TO HAVING TO ADD 10 FEET OF FASCIA WOOD TO THE EXISTING BUILDING (AN HOUR FOR 2 GUYS), AND THEN BY $200 DUE TO THE NECESSITY TO PULL BACK AND REINSTALL THE RUBBER ROOF. NEED FOR THE FORMER COULD HAVE WELL BEEN PREDICTED BY JLM, AND THE LATTER WAS ABSOLUTELY PREDICTABLE BY JLM, AS A RESULT OF THEIR PRIOR OPPORTUNITY TO INSPECT THE SITE. SO, THE PRICE INFLATED BY 50% FROM $1000 TO $1500. I FIGURED IT WOULD, SINCE MY OTHER QUOTE (NE GUTTER KINGS) WAS $2000, HENCE I DID NOT WHINE. QUALITY WAS DECENT, BUT NOT BRILLIANT. SOME USE OF STEEL (NOT COPPER) SCREWS BELOW THE WATER LINE AND SOME DENTS AND WONKINESS IN THE ANGLES. LOUIS AND HIS ASSISTANT WERE POLITE AND ARRIVED WITHIN AN HOUR OF THE SCHEDULED TIME, COMPLETING THE JOB IN ABOUT 4 HOURS.

EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT. WORK DONE WAS EXEMPLARY, PERFORMED WHEN PROMISED, AND EASY TO CONTACT TO CHANGE INSTALLATION DATE (AT MY REQUEST). WORKERS WERE CLEAN AND RESPONSIVE. PRICE WAS ROUGHLY SAME AS COMPETITION, BUT THEY ALSO POINTED OUT SOME OF REPAIR WAS NOT NECESSARY.

I'M GLAD I SWITCHED TO THIS NEW CLEANING COMPANY. MY OLD COMPANY NEVER BOTHERED TO TELL ME THAT ONE OF MY DOWNSPOUTS WAS SPLIT AND A GUTTER WAS TEARING AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. (BOTH OF WHICH WERE PROBABLY CAUSING THE WATER IN MY BASEMENT.) THEY FIXED BOTH PROBLEMS ON THE SPOT, INSTALLING A NEW SEAMLESS GUTTER IN UNDER AN HOUR. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY DIDN'T DO A GREAT JOB OF CLEANING THE DEBRIS FROM MY YARD, ESPECIALLY SOME OF THE GUTTER HANGERS, WHICH ARE DANGEROUS TO MY LITTLE CHILDREN.
