John G was efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. The job was done faster than anticipated, and the quality of the work was outstanding.

John G. did an excellent job evaluating the functioning of our boiler and performing annual maintenance for it. It was his second time taking care of the boiler for us. He quickly answered the minor questions that I had, and he advised what would be cost-effective in addressing the issues that I raised. In both the instances in which John G. has serviced our heating system, I found him to be knowledgeable, courteous, and focused on saving us money, whether on heating costs or future upgrades.

Extremely happy with Sila technicians that came to install the gas piping for our outdoor grill. They were professional, explained everything in detail and I am very satisfied with the overall experience I had with Sila. Highly recommend their services and will definitely be using them again for future work.

Sila's service call was great. I would highly recommend Sila for your HVAC needs. My system was over heating my house because my thermostats were not working properly. Sila replaced the broken thermostats and tested the system to make sure it was working accurately before they left. Scheduling the service call was easy and they provided updates of their arrival time.

Overall great customer and install service! Sila was quick and efficient when installing our central air system, explained all the costs and components upfront and all the staff I worked with were a pleasure. Would absolutely hire again!

Topic is a home water supply Shallow Well which operates with a shallow well jet pump + pressure tank installed in the basement. I had been collecting parts over the summer, as I knew the original to house jet pump would go out soon some day and with covid parts are hard to get quick, so started collecting ahead of time. Glad I did as the pump started leaking, from the housing. Replacement needed. Not an emergency but time to get it replaced. Was a ticking clock as it also looked like the pump was twisting putting stress on piping as original owner did not mount it and other fittings had large amounts of corrosion on them. I supplied these parts for the job: new 1hp jet pump, 44 Gal. pressure tank with T package, water filter housing, brass fittings, brass check valve, brass ball valves, 1" copper pipe and some copper fitting, and 2x10 pressure treated board to mount the pump/board to the floor with concrete anchors. Called up Sila on 10/14, master plumber Dave was available on 10/16 to come quote the job of installing what I supplied and misc. parts still needed. Talked with me and received my requests for specific design wants and he supplied his opinions & additional ideas and other options like wall mounting of water filter, sensor shutoff option and different water filter all together and we worked out the plan, did not do the different filter or sensor though. Talked about brass pipe and fittings at the pump up to the pressure tank and we agreed what I had purchased was good and would last a lifetime, vs copper all the way which would still last a long time. Quoted $2800 with water filter bypassing and $2600 without the water filter bypassing. Job was scheduled for 10/22. Quote was high level line item as listed here. Came a bit late on 10/14, due to an emergency call, no big deal Dave called to let me know. Was on time for installation on 10/22, 7:30am. Two workers on Job (Dave + 1, sorry I’m horrible with names +1 was an electrician and was helping Dave) Job took ~ 8 hours to finish. What was not able to be completed: Was not able to replace old original check valve. Well started to suck air when old was started to be removed, confirming there is no foot valve on the line or a broken one, so old check valve was kept. Concern was not being able to recover from air going down the well pipe causing priming issues. At this point the job would require a well expert and was not able to be replaced by Sila. What part of job was mis-understood: Mounting of jet pump to board/floor. Ended up missing the concrete anchors to start and installing after the fact with a different method. Made it more difficult to mount the pump and did scratch the rust proof paint. But it got done. Nice and sturdy. What was complicated on the job: Something that should have not been an issue at all went wrong. I had purchased 1” brass unions. There were two unions installed. One was found to be causing leaks during the initial job installation. This caused extra rework during the initial job. After job completion and area dried with a fan, it was found that both unions were leaking. The original one that had issues in the initial job and the 2nd one. One is pre pump and one is post pump. Called Sila office on 10/23 and told them what was happening, Dave’s earliest availability to come back was was 10/26. He was on time on 10/26. Dave stated that 1 union was giving trouble and replaced it with one spare that I had also purchased. When looking at the 2nd union again he was not able to get it to seal and he made the call and changed the design to direct copper connection and no union, I did not object as at this point just wanted the job done. No More leaks on that location, but also no ability to easily break the connection for future maintenance. When left no leaks. However, after using water for a while the 1st union started leaking again. Texted Dave direct with a picture and said he could return on 10/28 and I requested him to bring a union from his supply. Arrived when he could with ~ 1hr notice and replaced the union with one of his. When looking closer at the issue unions that I had purchased it was found they were cracking. Summary: I’m a novice in pluming, reason for calling Sila. I wish Dave would have noticed the poor part / crack issue and replaced unions from his stock on day 1. I was trying to save time by collecting parts over time and ended up causing issues. Dave knew he was working with brass and seems like he did not have backup stock on site incase of issues. Wish he did as I’d have two unions… and he would not have had to come back twice to repair the leaks. The call was made to not use the brass ball valves I purchased so it was clear that my parts were recommended to use but not absolute. Overall Dave and team did a great job, it’s clean, organized, valves and drain spickets installed nice and logically, filter is at good height, job completed like I asked and planned with Dave, except for the above jet pump mounting, union issue and check valve replacement discussion above here. Dave and team was professional and focused to get the job done. Thanks Dave for your hard work. Reason for Rating: I am giving this job an A rating based on the end result, Sila stood by the workmanship and resolved the issues that arose. That is a sign of a great company. If I would not have supplied the couplers that issue would not have happened ultimately and the check valve & well priming issue was just out of reach and would have required a well specialist to complete. The pump mounting was probably just lost in the large amount of details we had discussed, again it is mounted sturdy.

Outstanding! The technician, Brian MacFarland, arrived as promised and was professional, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about our system, replacement filters, and virus control. Based on our conversation when he arrived, Brian recommended we consider installing an iWave-R ion generator to provide additional help in controlling COVID. While he was at our house servicing our system, he contacted his company and they were able to deliver the part in about 30 minutes, which he then installed. No one feels good about COVID! But we actually feel a bit safer now, all because Brian educated us and then handled the logistics to buy and install the product on the spot! Brian went the extra distance for this customer, which is why Sila is such an outstanding company. Also, we have been extremely happy with our Unico HVAC system, which Sila installed a few years ago, and highly recommend it for anyone looking to add central AC to an older house. The fact that it is also a heat pump is a real bonus, efficiently supplementing/providing heat, even when it's 36 degrees outside. We're an extremely happy Sila customer!

excellent. John G was wonderful and we were able to complete everything in one day. Another crew member delivered a part that was needed so that he could continue working and we could fix everything in one day. John knew right away what the problem was and was courteous and wore a mask!

Matthew from Sila was amazing. Not only did he leave what was a mess, super clean, he put in the time necessary to help make sure that all the changes I wanted were in place. New PVC to the sewer line, new extra tap for the vent I'll need next year, re-routed old drains to not only look better, but everything is now tighter-knit and well-organized. Even threaded rods to bracket the drain and valve so that the whole system doesn't shake when it shuts off. I am thoroughly impressed with the focus, the time, and the result. Sila's pricing is high, but in this case I am convinced that I got what I paid for... a system that I won't have to worry about one bit, for many many years to come.

They are honest and trustworthy. I would highly recommend them and I will continue to use them.

Performed routine maintenance on my AC unit. No complaints, was very polite and got the job done.

OMG! It was better than seamless. Everyone was efficient, transparent, and professional. They helped me with paperwork for both the loan and the state rebates. The only surprise was how well it went. It was about a thousand dollars cheaper than the next lowest cost quoted and they fit me in weeks before they install they initially told me. I had cool air before the fourth of July holiday. Both the project manager, and the men who installed the outside unit are to be particualry noted for their hardwork. I'm going to Sila for all my future needs.

Work happened quickly, and very friendly to work with. It was expensive and a mask was not worn by them (it was initially, but only covering mouth), so bringing down to a B.

Horrible experience. Technician came for routine tune up and installed my humidifier filter incorrectly, so water dripped all over my HVAC system. Caused a part to stop working, in the middle of January. A repairman came and charged me over $800 to repair the part, but reinstalled the system incorrectly and caused a gas leak in my home. I had to called Eversource to come red tag my unit and had no heat in my home with infants for days. Finally Sila came and repaired my system properly, but offered me no recompense for my trouble. Their own emergency technician acknowledged they had messed up.

Sila got right back to me with a call from an administrative person who spent a long time on the phone gathering my information, then could not process it and turn it into a service request. Keep in mind, this information had nothing to do with the plumbing issue I was calling about. The person on the phone could not input my address. I get mail all the time. My building is more than 30 years old. There is nothing amiss with my address. He told me he would call back the next day, then never did. I had a similar experience several years ago: Sila kept me on the phone for 45 minutes while going through all of their required questions, keeping me waiting, then told me they couldn't do the job.

Sila Heating and Air Conditioning is the only service I found that can service my Buderus oil burner. John was the tech this time and he did an excellent job of taking care of the burner and then explaining the problem that arose with my chimney liner. Since I didn't have heat or hot water until the liner was fixed, I had to use a company I didn't know as an emergency repair. I was able to speak with their tech using the information provided by John and therefore felt comfortable with the costly repair. John even came back after his last call to turn the burner back on. I have the warranty on my burner so I pay a discounted price and have the coverage if I need it.

I had a great experience and always have with Sila. On the first cold day of the season I became aware that the pilot light on my gas boiler had gone out sometime over the course of the summer. It wouldn't stay lit so I called Sila as I have a maintenance agreement with them. They sent a tech out the same day and he quickly resolved the issue and I had heat again. I've tried a couple of other companies in the area and have been unimpressed with the folks that were sent over. I have always been pleased with the folks that Sila has sent over. I use them for A/C as well and I am similarly happy with those services as well.
