Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical

I am only giving two stars since they were responsive and handled the initial assessment well, but thats where the good ends. I had a combi heater that stopped working and they were quick to respond with a plumber visit. The plumber at least did not charge me for the initial assessment and automatically triggered an HVAC visit (honestly my fault for communicating incorrectly the issue). The HVAC visit was the real issue. The tech only really ran some water through the system, concluded it was a pump issue, and wouldn't consider a repair, instead quoting me $30k for a replacement, which even from my own research was well above the expected price. I did my due diligence and got a second opinion, who more thoroughly tested the eletrical end of the unit, provided a temporary fix to a simple bad sensor, and quoted me $1k, mostly in parts costs. Stay away for HVAC, maybe they're justified for simple repairs and fast responses but that was pretty awful.

Nice guy. Checked the dehumidifier but was not able to repair it since the dehumidifier was unable to be opened and components repaired. Glad he didn’t spend a long time on it and didn’t charge anything further.

OVERPRICED. I recently had my kitchen faucet replaced with a chrome Kohler faucet (same one sold at HomeDepot for $299). The plumber took a little over an hour and I was charged $1200 for the job. On the invoice, there is no breakdown on materials or labor charges. Even when I asked about it, he stated it was "an all inclusive price, I am giving you a deal", and couldn't offer a breakdown. There is no way changing a kitchen faucet costs $1200, Kohler or not. I tried unsuccessfully to speak with the master plumber about the outrageous charge and my calls went unanswered, even though customer service confirmed they would get back to me. On the day of the installation I felt obligated to pay the bill but I shouldn't have paid or agreed to pay the $1200. The company also doesn't provide estimates in advance. I feel robbed, taken advantage of and I will never use Sila again. I would recommend you also go elsewhere before paying Sila an exorbitant amount of money for services that should cost a 1/3 of the amount.

The plumber that was there was very nice, professional and efficient, and the faucet is working great. It was also nice that they were able to get everything done same day.

Plumber provided exceptional service. Was perhaps not lowest price but service was provided timely.

Sila had the most professional, well educated, and kind workers. They had effective communication and got the job done in a timely manner. I would definitely use Sila again, they made the whole process of getting central air extremely easy. Thanks Sila!

Seemed pretty inexperienced (although not sure that is unique these days given staffing shortages). Didn’t really understand the ask about the bathtub drain being clogged. Did correctly fix the shower issue, but when they replaced the fixture they didn’t screw it in all the way so the next few showers let a lot of water into the wall until we realized and fixed. Overall did the job and came in reasonable time but seemed to be very new to the job.

Very disappointed by the work done by Sila. They have a salesperson convince you that it is worth it to pay more with Sila in order to have a "project manager" and then said project manager is nowhere to be seen and doesn't do the Mass Save paperwork, like they promised. Very poor communication regarding when people would show up (regarding the disposal of the old unit). Wouldn't help me get the rebate they told me they would help with. Unit stopped working pretty quickly and required me to be home 3 mornings in order for them to figure out what they messed up and fix it. Just avoid Sila. They are a joke.

Our rental property's AC stopped working. The technician from this company spent at most 20 minutes to look at it, but not test any thing. Then tell us we need a new heat pump and air handler. The diagnose costs $285. The technician time was charged including the travel time and time on site. I have never heard such thing that we need to pay a contractor their travel time. They later sent the quote for the new unit which is double the market price ($22k for the fixed speed unit and $25k for the 5-speed). A friend referred another company. Their technician came over and changed capacitor. The 10 years old heat pump starts cooling the house immediately. Stay away from Sila and find other trustworthy company.

EXTREME RIPOFF! AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY. ESPECIALLY YOUR MONEY. During the recent cold snap, my furnace failed. I spoke to the phone person for Sila. Told them I had a Lennox furnace, its approximate age. I told them what parts were working---blower, and the electric igniter--- and what parts weren't --- no gas was igniting in the chamber, suggesting the gas valve was dead. They said they would send a "fully stocked truck". I could have emergency weekend service for $375, which would cover the house call and fifteen (15) minutes of labor. Every 30 minutes of labor would be an additional $90. Pricey, but it was REALLY cold. So I said OK. Big mistake! SILA THE RIPOFF COMPANY's Tech came. Verified in less than 15 minutes that it was a dead gas valve. "So you have the part on the truck, right?" NOPE. Lennox parts are specialty parts! They don't carry Lennox parts on any of their trucks! Lennox parts have to be special ordered from the warehouse, which does not open until Monday morning! He refused to come down on the house call price of $375, and he refused to apply any of that to the actual repair--- which would be ANOTHER house call fee ($125 for regular weekday by appointment) plus the part, plus labor by the half-hour. I was dismayed. $375 for basically NOTHING. I could have had my regular plumber come during the weekday. He doesn't charge absurd fees just to show up. THEN the Sila tech gave me a quote of $1,150 for parts and labor to return and put in a new gas valve during the week. Um, no thanks. THEN he called again Sunday, repeating the $1,150 quote and asking if I wanted to schedule it? And Sila sent me a couple of emails trying to push this ridiculous repair amount on me. Um, no thanks! I was already mad about the $375 for nothing! My regular plumber looked up my furnace's warranty, and guess what? The whole thing is still under warranty, so the new gas valve was FREE from Lennox. My good-guy regular plumber charged me $180 TOTAL to (a) show up; that's the first $100; and (b) fix the valve-- a 20 minute swap out chore and (c) he also, in the same visit, fixed a leaky sink elsewhere in the house. YOU DO THE MATH. $180 for the total repair from my honest regular-guy plumber (including an unrelated 2nd small repair) vs. $375 + $1,150 =$1,525 for the same thing (minus the sink repair, I'm sure Sila could have milked more out of that separate repair). Surveying the negative reviews, Sila has a history of telling homeowners that things cost A LOT to repair --- and even more to replace--- when often it's a fast and inexpensive repair that is all that's needed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Oh and? They didn't like my review, offered me my $375 plus my $180 back if I would take it down or revise it to their satisfaction. They didn't like my revision and so will refund me nothing. That's fine--- I'd rather leave an honest review and save you the expense and trouble of being robbed by this company.

He did a fine job but he did not gave a price ahead of time and I was stunned with the price after. The work is fine but $650 for an hour of job is unbelievable.

Guy did a great job of diagnosing and repairing our State Hybrid Electric water heater. I would definitely recommend his work.

Returning customer. The office called ahead on the day of service to notify us on the expected arrival time window and the technician arrived exactly as promised, The technician Guy (Gaetano) had previously serviced our furnace several years earlier. This time he found evidence of cracking in the boiler and showed me photos of the damage. He provided suggested course of action and written estimate. Total service time was approximately 20-25 minutes. Very satisfied with his service this time and the time several years earlier.

They did a great job. Really careful and professional. The woman I spoke to, Dominique was very helpful throughout as well.

We used Sila to install a new air conditioner this past summer during a heat wave. I was very pleased with the customer service and quality of work. The technician was helpful and professional and showed up on time (Gage).

I called and spoke with Dominique to get some pricing. Unfortunately I’m not the one who usually does this and Dominique was patient and courteous while I had to keep yelling back to my husband!

Service was great from first call Dominique helped me she was vey polite and knowledgeable she guided me through process a/c was fixed quickly would hire again

Fantastic! Dominique was the biggest help. She’s so kind and really goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy.

My ac went out and my condenser blades weren't working and they were able to order the part I needed and fixed it in a timely manner.
